Wow! That sounds fan fooking tastic! Good lord!
The only gripes for me at the moment is the lack of realtime skid marks and reflections of other cars ....I'm akso secretly hoping all footage seen so far have been on vanilla PS4

Yep, sounds and looks awesome. The engine notes could be a little throatier but there are a lot of little details in the sounds now. Even driving over the rumble strips sounds cool.
Still sounds synthetic.
I think there is no real simulation of driveline elasticity/stress that's why the shifting in race cars still sounds off.Sounds are improved, but are still not very good imo. Gear shifts sound as dull as they ever have.
It's such a small detail but I love the camera movement in the middle of this shot.
It does happen in other videos too and I'd really like an option to only have "TV style" cameras in replays.
Ayyy!
I'm pretty sure this was close to when the game was announced!Ayyy!
That looks like a "Phew, this game is finally releasing" kind of dance.
I give the new sounds an 8/10 , based on the one thread video at least. The combination of these visuals, sounds and GT physics create an incredible racing experience.Sounds better but still not where it needs to be. All the other gts were 2/10 And sport sounds are a 5/10. If they can hit atleast a 7/10 I'll be happy. Not expecting raceroom quality sounds but atleast driveclub should be the norm.
Before was there. I dunno why isn't here now. Maybe because it's not a night completely or because it's beta?
Oh, lol.I'm pretty sure this was close to when the game was announced!
Nope, most of the trees are a single 2d sprite that rotates around just like in GT6:

8/10??? Really?? I mean....im not sure how many racing games you played but if you consider this an 8/10, what do you consider the sounds in dirt rally, GRID, driveclub, project cars, assetto corsa, forza motorsport, rfactor and raceroom??I give the new sounds an 8/10 , based on the one thread video at least. Probably due to being a Beta, I am sure it will not ship with those trees, often assests are stripped down for download size and optimisation purposes
Polyphony digital are wizards, must eat from the same canteen as guerilla games.
Any word on load times? Easy to be overwhelmed by this glorious lighting, but they were a huge problem on PS3
Aaaand I'm overwhelmed again
Tremendous news! I don't know why trees matter so much to me in racing games - you do tend to see a lot of them so it just takes away from the overall impression if they're weak.
https://youtu.be/y3Ccb071J2sGuys have not been keeping up with the thread. Are there any game play video out there?
Also are replays still only 30fps?

They're 30 for OG PS4, 60 for the Pro.
Three main entries...but the question is would Microsoft let Turn 10 add a much wanted feature exclusively to Scorpio? If it's going in I would have thought it would be on both platforms.Honestly, I have had the thought that Forza 7 may actually end up having dynamic stuff this time around too (Scorpio/PC version at least). With the regular XB1 version doing what GT Sport is doing, not using prebaked lighting or dynamic weather, but set weather before the race starts and static lighting conditions (using a non-baked lighting system) that doesn't require continuous calculations.
But then I think about how it took them 3 main entries after GT5 had released to put in night time tracks and some sort of weather options, and start to think dynamic systems won't show up till Scorpio's successor is out as their rate of improvement per entry is severely limited by their set in stone 2 year release cycle. But yeah, it won't be a proper GT replacement by any means (as I really prefer GT's handling/controls/progression over Forza's) but I will absolutely pick up FM7 if they end up having dynamic TOD.
I get what your saying but PD wouldn't be loosing ground to other devs. Other devs would be catching up...to where PD was in 2010!5 and 6 done decently well. The point is you get much more powerful hardware and cannot spring on from what you achieved before and do better with framerate?
I don't buy it, not from PD. They're suppose to be the technical wizards, not lose ground to other devs.
...
The longer PD don't take Forza seriously the longer it will get panned by critics and slowly lose a bit of marketshare. Although Driveclub was a disaster at launch, it done a 180 of XB1 proportions and Sony still threw all of it under a bus to favour PD. The same PD who keep losing ground to T10 critically.
I can't believe they've gone back to thumbs not gripping the wheel properly again.
Whoa! Is this really a Gran Turismo game?
From one of the worst sounding games to one of the best? There is a bit too much echo going on though.
This. It's extremely off-putting.I can't believe they've gone back to thumbs not gripping the wheel properly again.
