Okay, it's like miracle grow.
Yeah, you're plant is gonna be fine with just some normal soil and water, but if you put some miracle grow in it it's gonna grow a little faster, a little stronger, and a little healthier than it normally would.
Why do you put yourself in the middle of arguments that you're indifferent about anyway?
Plus, if you don't see what the point of a pre-Halo 4 event at MLG was, regardless of it being "necessary" in your mind or not, then I'm clearly wasting my breath.

It was marketing, same shit that's happened with other games most notably Max Payne 3. I called it as much when it happened, while you and your cronies were crowing about how it was Halo's glorious return to MLG.

Talking about the MLG event, not you guys misinterpreting what the MLG event really was.
You should go back and read the posts from back then. You guys were all hyped about Halo actually returning, and more than for 1 showing. Even arguing when I was bringing up that it was just a marketing ploy.

To the competitive haloers: would you guys be fine with a sandbox that had one weapon per category per faction (such as BR/Carbine/LR for loadout semi-auto weapons) just as long as the UNSC sandbox, when isolated, provided a more limited arsenal of balanced options? Of course the option would be there to add in a few extras like the Plasma Pistol since I know MLG's used it in the past.
I have a feeling the pros would go nuts with a Gravity Gauntlet.

Quinn joining is good news, simple as. Besides the Sawed Off, Gears 3 refined a lot of the things people loved about the other Gears games. I mean he was what, the multiplayer desinger?
The gametypes, maps. weapons, sandbox were all much improved over Gears 2.
Could be good for Halo 5.

You know what's been going on behind the scenes and all, obviously, so I don't need to explain anything to you. It was all marketing. No future plans for Halo.
Because if there was no future plans for Halo, it makes total sense for them to attempt to relaunch the Top 5 series and create MLG settings.
I mean, what a conspiracy, they made MLG settings and hosted shows for months just to secretly drop Halo, wasting all that time and all those resources in the process.
They had no plans at all.
Just marketing.

That's an unfair comment. MLG and MLG pros were saying "Halo is back" and we all get super hyped by that. I'm not saying 343 was paying anyone or anything like that, I'm saying their invites to events and giving them the opportunity to play the game early may have skewed everyone's opinion.
I'm all down for these hires and know exactly where you're getting at, but saying you're behind the scenes so you know more, therefore, that person's foolish, without any explanation makes for an impossible argument.

You seem to have a problem with informing yourself.
You can look at all the things MLG was doing OUTSIDE of what I'm talking about. They brought back Halo themed shows, brought back the Halo YouTube content, and created MLG settings for what? As a marketing ploy?
MLG had plans for Halo, but Virgin Gaming signed with Microsoft and it became easier for MLG to go with CoD.

Washly and Bravo were pretty optimistic. They had their complaints (PV and every map besides Haven), but their general attitude was that Halo 4 was going to change everything.
So then it was more of marketing?
Not saying their opinions aren't valid but around Halo 4 release/post they worked for MS.

Here's what they had planned, just like their current OfficialMLGCoD, OfficialMLGLoL, and others. http://www.youtube.com/officialmlghalo
They started doing live shows for Halo every night where they played matches, developed V1 settings, or covered some other Halo related content like community customs.
They started taking submissions again for their Top 5 series.
They started promoting their GB ladders and tournaments for Halo.
They spent a few months developing settings for MLG v1, which was to be used for the events and tournaments they had planned.
There's more out there too on their site, main YouTube channel, and other places.

You can think that all you want, doesn't make it true. The conversation has reached its end IMO. Now I'm I'm watching the IGN Aliens:Colonial Marines stream before I go watch some movies with my wife.

Granted, I barely remember anything about the event; as such, my opinion is probably wrong.
That said, I feel it was a combination of marketing, goodwill towards MLG, and revitalizing the competitive scene. I believe that 343/MS definitely wanted to bring Halo back to the spotlight. They also knew their game had been viewed with a slightly negative view after the announcement of spectator mode's absence/no competitive ranking system/the "Infinity" settings/etc. Letting all the pros play the game early and compete is a great marketing idea, and allowing for competitive settings to be established early was the icing on the cake. Killing 2 birds with one stone. Get the MLG guys on board and saying positive things, fostering that competitive atmosphere, boom, Halo is back.
Again, just my 2 cents. I'd definitely trust CyReN, u4ix, and VivaciousJazzy to have more knowledge of what went down than I do.

File Shares have always worked in-game, you just have to click in whichever stick it is and you can select it. File Browser (in-game) works now, you can search for anything in-game now. Not up on the web yet, though. Another month or so for that to work.
Not that I disagree with the rest of your points...but there isn't one of these.

Well on a lighter more cheerful note than most of what is going on lately in this topic, I absolutely obliterated everything tonight in Halo 4, theres nothing more satisfying than absolutely destroying all the guys who are at ridiculous SR levels because of their mountain dew and doritos codes and have them yell how they're so pro they have to let me win. Feels nice.
On another note, has there been any reason given as to why Halo Silentium was delayed till march? Or is it a hype building ploy? Considering Bears books are the only ones I actually seem to be enjoying now, considering Karen Traviss has destroyed all existing characters in the universe through her total bullshit writing method.

To be honest I never saw why people found that so hard. Its really not that difficult to change the way you play a game to get better at it, I do it all the time. Adapting really does help. Its called evolution.

Thank Ford for preset loadouts. I miss Halo. That being said, I love 4, I think it's great. Not as good as Halo 2 or 3, but it's a good game. I just wanted it to be halo 4, not Halo Reach with extra shit.
