Hmm... I don't post this type of stuff on GAF, really, but my organizer friend at ESA was completely spot on about the Microsoft announcements so I am gonna post this on GAF of what I've been told. This guy works as an organizer with ESA so he sometimes sees and overhears information about the companies.

Supposedly last night a mysterious disc arrived to Los Angeles from Nintendo Corporate to NA. The disc was heavily guarded you could say, and it seems NOA wasn't even sure what it was. Take it how you will =)

And I am seriously, I swear to god, Allah, Buddah, Luffy, not bullshitting you. I don't wanna create false hopes (Pff... maybe its a Mario Party Online game!), but if there is this secrecy involved, AND it seems NOA didn't even know about it... it must be something big.

Anyway, I find it odd that the grunts at NOA supposedly don't know about it. This isn't the glorified import company that is NAL we're talking about or even NOE... it's NO-freakin'-A. That's one way to plug leaks, I suppose.

Presumably the higher-ups like Reggie and Cammie know about it, but if even the grunts aren't told... wow.

A new Zelda is inevitable, it's just a matter of what direction they take it in. I still have secret hopes that they really do take it in a steam punk direction, but I imagine we'll get a table-upturning twist that isn't quite as drastic. Maybe you alternate between playing as Link and Zelda or something like that, or you randomly morph in a flying dolphin and solve puzzles with a weirdly sexualized demon pixie thing. Or maybe it's a Sim City-lite game and you have to build and manage a successful kingdom, occasionally dipping back into the series gameplay roots to clear out a cave or evil ruin so you can turn that area into a successful residential zone.

Yep. Nintendo has gone from having me excited about gaming again with Wii to completely jaded with their lack of ANYTHING gen defining or making the software exploit the potential of the hardware

Oh man I keep hyping myself up for Nintendo's conference by watching videos of old interviews with reggie and aunuma. I'd never seen this video until now so I always wondered why they didn't deliver on their promise of a fully orchestrated soundtrack, but it seems the next one will. And he says they will do a lot more with the graphics, too.

Watching the pencil sharpening mini-game in Wii Sports Resort from last years E3, and now Red Steel 2, makes me want a proper Wii Zelda with good sword fighting (and shield defending) with Motion Plus.
