When I step back and look at situations like this from a bit further out and try and put myself in both sides of this situation, ( even being male I am still human), I see the need for women or a male for that matter to report these types of incidences relatively quickly even when proof may be hard to show, it still sets a precedent that they felt something inappropriate happened and hopefully the correct action by the law or even legal counsel would have a better chance of getting to the bottom of it as it is a recent incident and relevant evidence may be found easier.
On the other side, I try and put myself in that position as well, if I was this Jeremy Soule, and I felt I am being inappropriately accused out in the open for something I did not commit that could have career damaging possibilities, my first call is to a lawyer to possibly file the largest possible defamation claim against that person as vehemently as I could, even if there is no chance of it making an impact, it again sets the precedent that this is bullshit and I am not allowing this to happen to me.
At the end of the day, each of us must take steps no matter what side we fall on to protect ourselves via the proper channels, even if those proper channels fail us it helps set the precedent that something inappropriate happened that I am uncomfortable with and I am taking the best available legal recourse action to defend myself, on both sides.
