Just Cause 2 Multiplayer - [Beta Test: Sat 8th-9th September]

new-new client worked just fine for me. Can even earn achievements from playing this mod too apparently. Finally crashed 33 minutes in. This game would be insane if we had objectives or teamplay. Also, I love how everyone is an a-hole to each other and no one could care less because its just too damn much fun. Mod should be renamed to "grappling hook a-holes"

Server Software will be released when the actual mod is released, not this beta stuff.

This beta will go for 24-48 hours.

1500 player max right now

Server is currently running on Linux. Server stuff will support Windows and Linux.

Skin changes are supported (IDK how to change them).

~600 people online now.
 
You can press E (I assume Y for those pad players) at the passenger door to ride shotgun.

Weapons aren't synced, so you obviously can't kill people that way, basically vehicle combat.

Desert is empty. I rule this shit.
 
For the 5 minutes I got to play it, it was a lot of fun. It froze and I haven't been able to get it past the initial loading screen without freezing now. I verified the cache integrity and set the .exe to run as admin already too. :(

WOW!

When Just Cause 2 got all the big attention I found the justcause2mp site. I was so excited for it. I waited, and waited, and waited.

Then it never came.

Now out of fucking nowhere it's here!

I played for a solid hour or so without crashing. It's fun for a while and then you'll find there's not much to do. Just try to hijack other people's vehicles are about as fun as it gets right now.:/
 
Played for an hour before I crashed.

Fun but the lack of multiple people not being able to get in a vehicle + constantly getting your vehicle hijacked + being randomly spawned in the map = ehhhh can't see myself putting too many hours into this right now but it has my support going forward.

The Steam sale will probably have it for half of what the Amazon bundle is, but... you get 4 other games that you may some day kind of feel like playing. ;)

pro tip: wait for a guy to take off by standing on the roof of a plane and when he's in the air throw him out

Forgot how big the map is.

Took 15 minutes to reach an airport, then I dicked and stole a 737. Which was stolen back by a 3rd person.
 
Yea, the airport closest to the big city is pandemonium. Don't really expect get a plane though, and if you do, don't expect to take off, lol
 
I bet this could be very fun with a room full of Gaffers. It would be godlike.

A room full of randoms just wouldn't reach epicness.
 
Game is complete insanity, flew to one of the smaller airports in a helicoptor, got a jet, flew to MLH, jumped off and stole a figher plane, crashed it into a helicoptor, tried to fly a 747 but so many people it's nearly impossible to take off before someone jacks the plane from under you and runs into a tree. Just absolute chaos.
 
Whoa, why am I not playing this? Hopefully y'all will be on tomorrow night, this is too good to be true.
