That biker look is the one shown with the other classic outfits in the artbook, so Im sure its the full alt outfit and not just accesories. Id love to be wrong though.
Maybe the Mohawk is an accessory? And like Orchid, maybe the biker costume is a color variation?
It fucking better be...
Lets hope.
If they at least included the mohawk as an accessory, that with being able to remove his vest would be reminiscent of the KI1 look.

It's because they fucked up the head and made it look like he has a tumor in his skull. If they had just slimmed it down a small fraction (as some fans already did) then it would look perfect.

That doesn't seem right, I have had people disconnect on me several times now and it hasn't put me in jail. The old patch yeah but not since the update a while back. Of course now I have the new issue of not being able to play for a week now thanks to the new patch.

I know it doesn't match the original, but I think part of the reason he's got tumor-head syndrome is that, being an alien, they might have tried drawing from some more modern alien physiology that wouldn't affect his playstyle - the structure of the head immediately makes me think of Elites, from the Halo franchise:
The difference is that rather than just have a snakelike head, they also had the ice cloak it down to his shoulders in a more triangular fashion, causing it to look way more pronounced than it really is.
There's a billion reasons why it could have happened, but I think a lot of it just had to do with them wanting to differentiate the fighters a little more down to the silhouettes, and OG KI had some pretty similar builds (Glacius and Cinder just with different elemental properties, etc).

Yeah we are all debating whether that is his classic alt or just an accessory option to the classic. Since that is obviously nothing remotely close to the KI 1 look.

Hey guys, quick question! I bought an Xbox One on Friday, and bought the Combo Breaker pack. Am loving the game, and was wondering if there was a way to upgrade to the Ultra Edition whilst only paying the difference? The OP says the price of characters adapt and gradually come down if you're going the F2P route and buying them one at a time, does the same happen with the Ultra stuff?
No way to upgrade yet unfortunately.

Pretty sure that it isn't we were never shown the default outfit in the art book. These are definitely accessories.

Hopefully you are right although to be honest I have abysmal levels of confidence that they'd do a very good classic skin for him anyway.
Thunder's default look in game is one of the most faithful to the good parts of his old design. We already know they had issues with the old design, so I see no reason to be so surprised that what's previewed above might be the default look for it now.
I do like the fact it seems to be a legacy KI jacket (1994~2013, old school KI logo on the back), and the omission of his usual feathers and headdress really do make his large upper body more pronounced.
The accessories have been getting better with each new character costume introduced, (Classic Saber's were almost each like a new costume) so I do hope he has some good ones. Removing the jacket/tats, or at least giving it sleeves / no sleeves options, adding some form of Mohawk /alt hair styles, and turning his axes into other items (mallets, Phoenix-fire axes, 2 x 4s with nails in 'em, or just pure weaponized lightning) would be good options.

Well the artbook does say this is the "Base Model" for the classic outfit
Here are a couple variations that are most likely part of some accesory sets. The "Mohawk Mechanic" haircut with him being shirtless might be the closest we get.
Oh and Thunder using Crowbars...do not want.

Sans crowbars, I don't necessarily mind the redesign. It keeps it Midwestern without being overly... well, casinos-and-burial-grounds. The original design's a little stereotypical by today's standards, and not in a good way.

Oh ok. Yeah I can get behind this change. I usually use the crystal looking addons, so I don't see his head normally.
I like that change though. It would be nice if they did that.

If people dont realize, they can just select shirtless and red mohawk
Sure he wont have the dark face/body tattoo but he would be close at that point

That's what I plan on doing, then with the Steel Axe i'm sure will be better than the default.
I honestly don't care much sense his new outfit made me forget all about it since it's better in every way.

The default character models / accessories are the best options in the game. Everything else ranges from alright to complete crap. Probably would have been better if those resources had been dedicated to things the game actually needs such as lobbies but hindsight is always 20/20.
Agree 100%.
Its really disappointing cause I was so hyped when they first announced the classic outfits too. Glacius and Orchid's are the only ones I think are decent and even those need work. In the end, critiquing the character aesthetics is a waste of time until they at least get all the other BS with this game sorted.

It's my favorite accessory set, I just hate that it doesn't have a color to match it.
Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with his outfit, besides the shirt being a bit short from the original.

Except that 90s Jago didn't have those hideous tats. This is one of the reasons I'm kinda glad DH is outta the picture because they are very lazy when it comes to the details. I wanted clean cut Jago and I haven't seen it in action but does orchid's classic outfit spell HOT on it like in some pics I've seen.? That's so fucking stupid. I feel like DH confused KI with a dead rising game.
And speaking of DH what happened to story mode, fulgore, and all the other wonderful stuff promised is there any word on that? When will MS show who is supposedly taking over the franchise?

I'm a little confused. You're mad about them being lazy about the details while simultaneously being annoyed they included HOT on the side of Orchid's costume exactly like the original KI1 version had it.

There is no single player unless you are referring to vs CPU / Survival modes which yes do work fine (well except after the last patch broke being able to launch the game at all.) They have fixed that issue now though. Prior to that it was a combination of the new character locking the game up, character intros locking the game up, and multiplayer not functioning properly with regards to the disconnect / jail system as well just taking too long to find matches in general.
As of today all of that is working pretty well. You never know what the next patch might introduce though given the track record. Best to just keep in mind that the game doesn't always work as intended. I would also advice against purchasing anything above the $20.00 version of the game or at least look at the additional accessories and costume and decide if they are worth an additional $20.00 to you. Originally it was a bit more enticing because of possible beta access to new characters early, etc. but they reneged on that.
edit: I should probably mention there will be a single player story mode going live in an update supposedly at the end of this month.
I've been playing this since day 1 never had problems playing online or playing it in general. In some cases its taken longer to find players in exhibition / ranked matches but its great recently. Definitely download the free character if you're on the fence, but its a must own game for any X1 owners.
Single player or Survival mode is fun too especially on higher difficulties.
edit: Arcade mode with a story is come as a free download shortly as well.

What dankir said, this has been my exact experience. Also wanted to add that it is one of the finer fighting games I've played. Download the free version with one character (which rotate bi-weekly or so) and try it out for yourself.
Yep, haven't had hardly any issues with anything regarding this game... other than characters not being as awesome as expected (Spinal).
Same here also. I've somehow managed to sidestep every major issue that people encountered over the course of each update. Except that one match playing with DONKER, where it decided to simply not draw anything on screen, and let him beat on me whilst I was blinded. But that was a one off.
The game is still the best reason to own the console imo.
They needed that red option for the classic costume. They should replace either color 5 or 6 with it, those two are crap.
