I don't really think there's any comparison between Zenimax and Konami, but it would be great to see SOMEONE do something with their legendary IPs. Hell, maybe Sony could even add a clause to give them exclusive pachinko rights. Everybody wins.

Would you want Sony to buy Konami? I'd love to see someone make a decent Castlevania or Metal Gear, and we all know it's not going to be Konami.

People don’t use logic around here anymore. Nintendo is the gold standard here, and that’s what we should want from Sony and M$. How often does N go out and buy up entire studios? And what is that? Most of their systems are all time great sellers with some of the highest grossing games of all time?

Nothing changes for Sony today after this, was anybody talking about a single Bethesda title when talking about their PS5? No, they are hyped for DS, Spider-Man, GoW, Horizon, etc. that’s the focus, always has been

Much like Sony, nintendo just has top tier talent and that wont change, which is why nintendo doesnt go out to make acquisitions. If anything, sony and nintento act while MS has to react due to the talent they already have.

Konami has become trash the recent years, but it wasn't like that in the past. It was unlike what it's become now.
Konami was capable of offering more glory to the VG industry, than the goddamn glory holes of the porn-industry collectively.

And then what? Konami doesn't come with the dev teams/studios necessary to develop for the IPs they have. Sony would then need to go on a hiring spree or outsource development to studios. Buying Konami is basically just buying the IPs. ZeniMax comes with the IPs AND the devs necessary and experienced to actually develop games for those IPs.

Sony doesn't have "fuck you" money like that. Best thing for Sony at this moment is to sell the PS business to Google or do a partnership. Today, Xbox became a major pillar of Microsoft, up their with Azure, Office 365 and Windows.

Sony isn't going to outspend them.
