Kotaku: Silent Hills officially cancelled

Horror games are a dime a dozen. They vary in quality, P.T happened to be at the top without resorting to jump scares and being chased.

I don't understand where in my post I was suggesting that someone else make a run of the mill horror game with jump scares to cash in on this news. I was suggesting that there is a lot of talent in this industry and hopefully someone can attempt to make a best in class horror game that is right up the alley of Silent Hill. The market is flooded with crappy tycoon games too. That didn't stop CO from making a very impressive city builder. The fall of a giant can open the door to new products that were afraid to compete against that giant. That is all I was suggesting in my previous post. I am sure this and my previous post will be twisted all around on me by silent hill fans so sorry in advance for the offense.

Konami also voluntarily delisted its shares from the New York Stock Exchange, http://www.konami.co.jp/zaimu/2015/0427/en_aa7e9c.pdf

Whats going on in Konami? o_O

You have to pay money to have your stock listed on an exchange.

The vast majority of people trade Konami's slots/pachino subsidiary stock on the Japanese stock markets instead of the NYSE, so it wasn't cost effective for them to have a listing on the NYSE if no one was trading the stock there.

This isn't like a US company being delisted because 1.) it was voluntary and 2.) it's not at all their primary market. It'd be like Ubisoft removing their stock from the Japanese market if they had one.

Has anyone posted this yet? It's Super Bunnyhop's latest piece with some very interesting and worrying information about the whole thing going on with Konami.

Be aware that George plasters the piece with disclaimers stating that the source he spoke with did not provide concrete evidence of their info, but they did prove were in fact a Konami employee.

My point still stands.

We need verification from someone's twitter who's not associated with gaming at all.

guy. next to trends just click "change" and type "worldwide" into the region text box. no need to track down a hermetically isolated twitter account.

Lol do you think they give a shit of what Neogaf thinks?
It's hard to miss the fact that they are trending on twitter worldwide, and that every major site with a story on this is jampacked with thousands of negative comments. They may not care about NeoGaf, but even a braindead company should release that trending with worldwide rage on twitter is not a good thing.

Wow, i figured they would continue the project without Kojima, not just outright cancel it... after MGSV, I doubt they will be getting any more of my money.

Seriously one of the biggest let downs for me in gaming. I absolutely love the silent hill franchise and after the room the series went way down hill. This was my hope for the series to return to it's glory that the first games achieved.

You think the public opinion around the internet doesn't make a difference? Look at what happened with Xbox One. If they leave gaming behind, so be it, but pissing off fans CAN have real repercussions on a business. We've seen it happen.

They are getting out of gaming anyway. Public Opinions from gamers have no effect one them. In fact, they can boast to their shareholders by saying that they went all out just to focus on more profitable business.

And hopefully it will happen here (in spades).
