Last of us remastered coming out next week?

It's gonna be out next week. The fact that Sony came out and said "it won't be out on the 13th" instead of "it won't be out next week" leads me to believe you'll see a "pick it up tomorrow!" At E3.

If it is soon, it's more likely to be the week after E3.

Didn't Sony announce and release Final Fantasy 7 on PSN during E3 a few yeas ago?-

If so, I could see them releasing the digital version early- the PSN servers will take a beating tho.

Dont know how they would handle retail though-

Wouldn't there already be copies in the back room of GameStops all over America if this were happening? I figure somebody would have already posted a pic. Logistically, the window is rapidly closing for a physical Tuesday launch if units aren't already out there.

This is my line of thought. Someone would have posted something by now somewhere. Unless Sony is really holding of shipping anything until next week to retailers and surprising them (which I highly doubt) then we are not getting it next week.

"Available exclusively through Amazon, this Friday."

:O

When I worked at GameStop we sometimes had games overnighted on Fridays-Mondays for Tuesday releases. So if they were going to release next week (which I doubt) it's not impossible that stores haven't received it.

Not necessarily: I work retail for a major retailer, and a lot of times, we'll get Tuesday release games the day before. On occasion, we'll get them earlier, but most of the time, they pop in literally that Monday.

They could always just go, "AVAILABLE NOW DIGITALLY, AND IN RETAIL STARTING THIS FRIDAY!" and that'd give them the time they need to ship copies to retailers.

You're making things bigger and more difficult than they are.
They can ship the game next monday or even friday this week, they have all the time for a surprise release late next week if they wanted.
Even if retailers knew about it on monday (and that might not be the case considering that it's one of them who let the cat go out of the bag) how long does it take to put copies on schelves? A hour after closure the day before the launch or in the morning before opening? I don't know about the US but here a lot of retailers don't even bother with that during launches of big games because they know that many people are going to ask about the game and they'll need to put more copies on the schelves, so they just put the ad about the game being available on the schelves, you ask, they pick up the copy from their warehouse or directly from the shipping box they keep behind their desk.

Of course I'm not saying that they will do a surprise release next week but that if they wanted they are absolutely on time for a release late next week.
Personally speaking if the game is released in June instead of August I'll be satisfied.

Digital Release?

You mean the same servers they just got done upgrading?

While I agree it's not out of the realm of possibility I just don't feel too confident about it. I want this game bad for my PS4 so I wish they would just tell us already! :). Who knows, maybe after I get out of the theater next week and get my swag bag I'll have a digital download code for TLoU PS4 waiting for me! (LOL yeah right but I can hope.)

You guys are reading to much in to it, remember this is a remastered game from last gen regardless of how many GOTY awards got and what not this is not a new game, if this thing were to come out next week every retailers should have copies on stock already, you don't ship a game the week it releases, the only way I see this coming out next week is if Sony does a digital release and retail a few weeks down the road because other than that I don't see it happening, I'll eat some crow tho if I'm wrong

Here's the thing, they know the release date but they don't want to tell us...this must mean it's soon, otherwise why not just tell us it's July/August/whenever?

Not necessarily.

And remember Sony released TLOU worldwide last year on a Friday, the same with Second Son, so they may be releasing Friday worldwide again. If that's the case they can ship it as late as Tuesday, to arrive at stores Wednesday/Thursday ready for Friday.

Wasn't the 360S pretty much stealth released?

Yeah it was. Some stores near me had a few and other stores didn't have any clue that it was coming. I guess I always figured that people trying to sell games in specialty stores would watch E3 and events like it.

The world is too connected to pull off shit like this these days.

If this is gonna be a stealth release I'm pretty sure we'll get more leaks before E3.

Hmmmmmmm..... release TLoU Remastered on Tuesday evening via a PSN update and delay the disc based release a few days. It would be a good stunt to get more people on PSN/purchasing things digitally.

I predicted long ago that the first parties (and maybe even the third parties) would deploy that as a strategy to bring about the digital future sooner.

If anything it makes a lot of sense.

Originally 20th was the release date being suggested, what if the 'dayone edition' game mention is for a code and game are the exclusive uk retailer for the PSN code (which comes out a week before the physical version).

Like I posted here yesterday, not gonna happen unless Sony is finally ready to tell Wal Mart to fuck off.

They can say it is releasing on the 21st and they couldn't be called liars. That would probably work better because it is clear of E3.
