Last of us remastered coming out next week?

Somewhat off topic, i won £1500 the other day and am thinking of one of the things im gonna use the money for is to buy a PS4. I do have a Xbox One and have since day one but...... should i take the plunge and get a PS4 too and if so what games should i get?

Wolfenstein and Infamous

Well that comment from Sony has certainly made me wonder.

Didnt Naughty Dog recently say that the game has been ported? Game Informer interview?

Sure someone allready quoted it here somewhere.

=)

So whenever somebody is tweeting a guessed releasedate the publisher has to announce the official release date even though its still a secret?

No. When a major national retailer tweets multiple times its coming in nine days they should however clarify if it's in fact a month or so away.

ONE retailer. No one else has reported it's coming next week. All other specific dates mention August.

Any updates?

I asked a GAME near me just now, this is there reply.

I gotta believe.

If the PS4 exclusives are MUST HAVE for you, then a PS4 is a no-brainer.
However, IMO (and I am in the same boat as you) I'm not yet that bothered about the ps4 exclusives, and the graphics gap isn't enough to justify the extra £350 cost.

My suggestion would be to build yourself a kick-arse gaming PC - that £350 would buy you a superb graphics card.

I'm so jealous of people that are going to be playing it for the first time, one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had and you guys get out without the jet engine ps3 fans and the game on virtual steroids haha

Hmmm I wonder if Sony would take the risk and launch a game without any marketing?

Too risky for a game of this caliber, there needs to be a promotional build up period, a few weeks at least.
I think they announce the game launch date at E3 for July 2015.

The way this years panning out, never say never

Got to remember that these store twitter accounts are just some person local to each store posting them up and not the company line.

Given that Game here tend to be significantly more expensive in store than on their web site and other online retailers, they're going to try to get people into the stores quicker to get the presales by generating local hype. I don't trust a word that comes out of most of the staff in my local store because they are more focused on sales and tend to have little understanding of what it is they're actually selling.

Example being that I was asked if I wanted to purchase the Season Pass with my boxed copy of Trials Fusion. They were genuinely surprised when I told them it came with the deluxe retail copies and then they said they'd been selling them to people all day.

I'll hold off until I hear the official confirmation which will hopefully be at E3.

I'm been getting more interested in the game since the reception has been so positive. Is it possible for someone who really dislikes dark/horror games to like this?

I think an E3 trailer + release date would be enough marketing, specially for a port.

thats a great point

It may launch with a bundle before it releases as a standalone. That makes sense in that it would drive sales of the PS4, which would obviously counter the possible sales of the KInectless XB1. Perhaps GAME announced the sales date for the standalone game, which is why Sony/ND can say the game isn't technically launching on the 13th.

Of course, it could possibly be the other way around. Both scenarios would explain the leak and the denial.

It's hardly a horror game. It can certainly be tense sometimes but that's about it.

you don't need much marketing for the game of last generation...it would pretty much be a massive announcement "oh by the way, from today you can buy the best game of last gen" it'd be like the DRM from last E3

This.

My mates who moved from 360 to PS4 are all aware of The Last of Us and the fact it's coming to PS4. All it needs is a few announcements on Facebook pages and IGN and my mates will be all over it.

The Last of Us is a huge game and word will quickly spread that it is out if they announce the release next week. No need for marketing it for a few months then release.

I think it's going to be a drop the mic moment for Sony at the end of the conference haha.

It's not a horror game, and it's not "dark" in the sense of scaring you/ making you frightened. It's just grim.

If you like survivalist games where you have to look for resources and struggle to survive then you should get it.

EDIT: and a fantastic story and a great overall experience. Seriously, just buy it hah.

The setting and infected are only the backdrop to explore the relationship and evolution of the two main characters ... so yes, you will like it.

Thanks. I'll give a try when it comes out :)

I always thought it was a scary horror game.

To TLOU virgin, please keep your expectation in check.
It is my GOTG, but it's still a game, it have gamey stuff like funny AI, slower pace beginning etc.
Don't put your judgement goggle on while playing, just try to immerse yourself for a ride. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.
I hope we don't get too much LTTP thread about over rated all kind of stuff.

There is one particular section that you are really going to hate.

The part where you are alone in the dark in the flooded apartment and need to get the generator started.
That is the only real horror section in the game as far as I remember.

Seems that it's part of their E3 conf with a release pretty close to it, and not august.
Maybe announcement of a PS4 TLOU bundle.
