Last of us remastered coming out next week?

It's either true, and GAME messed up, or it's incorrect and the various GAME branches are going off the earlier info from back in May, which may be out of date but they haven't changed it.

There's plenty of gore.

Such gore was never in the final game. At least not in mine as far as I can remember

Oh dear, this post ought to go over well.

Really? Did I miss a racial slur that was edited out... or are you treating somebody not thinking the game was the best of all time like a hate crime? Drive-by trolling is bullshit, but if somebody takes the time to post their specific criticisms in a reasonable manner (in response to two questions), at least respond in kind. Not everybody has to drink the kool-aid to participate in the conversation.

I suppose so.

Basically I'm worried that the last half of this year is gonna be dry for PS4. I feel like this because of the lackluster response to Judge's Week, combined with the fact that they're treating TLoU Remastered like it's a huge huge deal. It's a port. Of a really really good game, but not what I want for my new PS4.

I guess what I'm saying is that a surprise early TLoU release doesn't speak to the rest of Sony's 2014 lineup. If they had 100 games or 2 games this TLoU release would happen no matter what

We've seen nothing about the game. Last I heard devs were 'targeting' 60fps and cutscenes models in game, but it sounded like they still had work to do.

Would be great to see Sony close their pre E3 conference with a "you can log on to your psn account and download the game right now, it just went up while you were busy watching the show lol" but I think that's highly unlikely.
Would love that though

Fair point. Actually a surprise E3 release for TLoU would help ease my mind on this. If the game slips into August/September, then I'll get worried.

Ahh maynneee, looks like I'm not going to be able to prolong buying a PS4 any longer. I missed it on the PS3 and I'm still dying to play this game.

I can't believe some of you guys are using 'gore' as a selling point for this game.
It certainly is a selling point considering it's an integral part of the atmosphere and tension. The player controlled violence is one part of the equation. The other is seeing similar gore played out upon yourself via the short, yet brutal, death animations when Joel dies. Add to that the juxtaposition of beautiful environments and serine non-violent sequences... the game does an excellent job of portraying both war and peace. Life and death.

Selling a game on gore and explaining why it's necessary are two entirely different things.

Hey, go buy my game, The First of Us. The enemies are super violent zombies that blow bubbles and attack you with bouquets of flowers. When your character dies he turns into a thousand beautiful Monarch butterflies that migrate to South America in the cool evening breeze. It is such an epic & intense experience. You will have trouble sleeping.

Did I sell it?
