I'm sure your motives are pure and different games click differently for different people. I don't think our tastes are similar though. You liked Lords of Shadows 2 more than Lords of Shadows 1 and I thought the second game was utter garbage though I loved the first.
As for the screen tearing, without the day 1 patch it's ridiculously bad, like seriously don't play the PS4 version without that patch. With the patch it's still there and I notice it but not in every area so I find that it doesn't kill the game for me (but it will probably drive people who are sensitive to this stuff crazy.) There is another patch in the works that further addresses the tearing but I wouldn't bet on it being 100% gone.
Well, the story approach in the game is supposed to be hand-fed. Some people will like it and some don't. It's hardly the main appeal of the game. Not sure what to say about the side-quest, maybe it was optional to find all of them or you missed the timeframe to do it? Sure they could've worded it better. Not sure if the 5gb patch is fixing that.
But warrior is the easiest way to play the game. People go into this thinking it's gonna be Souls-like difficulty. Not ever have they said that. They've said the game will be challenging, but definitely not as hard as Souls. And that is by design. But it's obvious you didn't like it very much, but 5/10 is like the worst game ever made with todays review scores, and I have such a hard time believing that from all the streamer-impressions. Have you tried the NG+ or going as Rogue? How is the difficulty then?

Lmao ok maybe I might have been a little OTT but let's be honest here. It's very shallow and doesn't make a lot of sense. Not that I'm complaining. I love dark souls and really like the fact you just seem to be in this kind of personal hell. Well to me anyway lol.
So much ignorance.
Most people might not play Dark Souls for its story, but it's definitely there. It's just presented in the most subtle of ways, namely through gameplay instead of contrived exposition. The story is surprisingly deep too, and touches on repetition, memetics, loyalty, fanaticism, etc.
It's a gazillion times more interesting than the stuff in Lords, and it's written much better, as well.
Ignorance is a state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge).[1] The word ignorant is an adjective describing a person in the state of being unaware and is often used as an insult to describe individuals who deliberately ignore or disregard important information or facts. Ignoramus is commonly used in the US, the UK, and Ireland as a term for someone who is willfully ignorant. Ignorance is distinguished from stupidity, although both can lead to "unwise" acts.

The fact that you put the Souls games in the same sentence as Ninja Gaiden (superb as that game might be) just goes to show that you have no idea what you're talking about.
Protip don't use words you don't fully grasp.
Yea right. I mean there is definitely a good amount of lore in the Souls series, but that is different than a true narrative. In DS1 your goal is to light or not light a fire. In DS2 your goal is to (regardless of what you want) become the new monarch. THAT is it.
Tearing is one of the easiest problems to see in any video. Is youtube really a good source to go off of that? Shouldnt you wait for like gamersyde footage or something else?
I completely understand the definition of the word ignorance. It's your job to convey that you're NOT ignorant, which you failed to do.
The fact that you've played through the Souls games a dozen times does not prove your ability to grasp its storytelling, and your age proves zilch as well, so stop hitting me with these lame logical fallacies.
You have no idea what the word narrative means, so stop pretending that you do. I know the difference between story, plot, narrative and discourse, thank you very much.
You're ignorant about Dark Souls' narrative, so just shut up about this matter. Your half-assed opinion does not constitute an argument.

The whole game being in that castle location is a deal breaker for me. The sense of exploration in dks1 with all those completely different locales will be difficult to match it seems.
Wait, is the game set in only that one location? I thought there was variety in the locations?
29.
Not that my ages proves anything, so the fact that you keep riffing on about age and have given no decent counter-argument whatsoever says enough, really. Cheers!
Honestly that sounds about right. The classes just lump your points into other areas of your abilities. Otherwise every class can use any weapons or armor they receive.
Story isn't amazing but it's there and the game sorta guides you. A bit more in depth then Dark Souls. I think most will be satisfied with what is there seeing as the Souls series is pretty much cryptic as shit when it comes to the story.
The issues with text appearing, dissapearing enemies, quest items, etc. Didn't happen to me in all my time with the Xbox One version. Only thing is the framerate and tearing moments. Also clipping of some stuff on the character, etc.
29 years old and you act like a child. I know that's a tiresome cliche but it's the truth
still buying the game but disappointed at tearing on PS4
I'd prefer 900p with no tearing if that is possible
It's not as much a cliché as it is an ad hominem fallacy. Combined with the fact that you still have no counter-argument about the subject (you know, Dark Souls' storytelling, the thing we were discussing? You know, before you got sidetracked by your liver spots) I'd say there is enough proof that it is you who is being the little kid here.
Anyway, enough derailing, I hope the people interested in this game appreciated the info I shared. If they have questions, feel free to ask.

Dark Souls' story doesn't really start making sense until you play through a second time and find Kaathe. That for me was when things started clicking and I realized that the storytelling in the game was actually something special.
I have a question. I know you're not impressed with this game but I want to know what you thought about the core combat. Choice of weapons, armour etc. I love the solid sound the weapons have when bouncing off shields etc.
Any favourite weapon during your playthrough?
Someone didn't get milk with their cornflakes this morning.
Says the one who actually threw the "I'm older therefore more right than you" argument? lol. You don't get to imply someone is immature when you're being so condescending for no good reason.29 years old and you act like a child. I know that's a tiresome cliche but it's the truth
You have summarized the Souls games' plots, not their narratives. Also, you're just speculating on Lords of the Fallen, while I've actively played it and finished it.
You're an idiot, simple as. Stop posting before you make yourself look like a bigger idiot.
You don't get what you want. This is consoles we're talking about.
Oh, another question: are there bows or crossbows in this game?

This reminds me of TLOU threads. Just because one element is praised above the rest, doesn't mean the other elements don't exist. Dark Souls most certainly has a story and a lot of lore, and you're kind of oblivious if you couldn't grasp that. (Not you, Spainkiller)So much ignorance.

Preload is up on Steam.

Dark Souls 1 narrative is: Seek the Lord Vessel. Seek Lord Souls. Light a match. Period. Over. Anything else adds to the lore of the world you are in.
Dark Souls 2 narrative is: Seek Great Souls. Retrieve the King's Ring. Ascend the true throne. Anything else adds to the lore of the world you are in.
You can kick and scream all you want but that doesn't make DS1 or 2 these great masterpieces that you and you alone seem capable of understanding.
LoTF seems to be taking the direct route with a specific main character with a pretty well laid out goal from the onset. Quality aside (I haven't played it so how the heck can I know) CI has at least set out to make available the world of Lords than FROMSOFT. Whether they have succeeded remains to be seen.
Ninja Gaiden/Black also have a story, but it's very basic, it's not suppose to be deep. The same goes for souls series
I'm a lot older than you are
