Marvel Legends (toyline)

Kind of the wrong place to post this but still. Anybody know anything about this Krang figure? I'm pretty sure it's not part of Playmates Classics TMNT line. Looks to stand about 10 inches.

For comparison here is PlayMates upcoming Krang. He is about the exact same height as the Donatello from the first image, which is a bummer.

Oh man, those look amazing! I still have my original Krang in Robot-Body on top of my desk. :)

It's a custom. But that Playmates Classics Krang may still be released someday.

Playmates sucks at getting their adult figures to market despite demand. They always sell out, too.

I own the Bebop and Rocksteady as well as the 80s toon turtles.

To say they underproduced these is a drastic understatement.

I found out about these waaaaaay too late and can only seem to find bootlegs on eBay. :(
I'd love to track down all 4 turtles someday!

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

In packaging reveal for the first time today.

Man, that 2099 figure is slick! I'll probably pick him up once this series hits stores.
Has there been a Deadpool figure in this line yet? I'd love to get a DP figure at this scale. :)

It's a bit off-topic, but I've dedicated portion of my new site to the high-quality Nintendo figures that have released in recent years (Figma, SH Figuarts, D-Arts, etc.), if anyone's interested in checking it out: http://amiibros.com/nintoys.html

There was an X-Force costume Deadpool released in one of the last Return of Marvel Legends waves, but he got scalped hard. He was supposed to be a swap figure alongside the red and black costume, but that was never released anywhere but a very brief run in Britain for some reason, and thus costs ridiculous money.

Before that, there was a two-pack with Pool and Warpath during the pre-Return Hasbro days, which costs a whole lot now, a variant for that pack with Deadpool in bluer colors, which costs even more, and a Toybiz era Deadpool which is usually a couple hundred dollars.

Trying to buy a Deadpool in most lines is frustrating.

Yeah I looked up prices for a few of the figures you mentioned - yikes!

I picked up this Marvel Super Heroes Squad 2-pack a year or so ago but it looks like it has sky-rocketed in price now too:

Here's hoping we get a full line of high-quality DP figures once the movie comes out! :D

Ah, Marvel Legends. It was my crack cocaine for a while years back. In recent times I have tried to limit any figure purchases I make, and sell off much of my collection. I have to say that the new standard Spider-Man figure there and the Spidey 2099 will most likely get bought however. I can now sell my KB Exclusive SMC 2099 Spidey to clear room.

When Hasbro took over the Legends line I thought it was doomed. But seeing what they are putting out as of late, I have to say some of it might even exceed some of the old Toybiz stuff. It took awhile for them to hit their stride, but they seem to be making some great stuff.

I actually had that old Spider-Man 2 Magnetic spider-man and recently sold him. I should have checked on GAF before I did so. I still have a fair bit of figures I'm looking to part with. Do we have a trading thread/forum here on GAF for such things?

I should try to go back and find some of the Legends photos I've taken in the past. Good times.

I wish Hasbro would make a Silver Surfer Legend using the Bucky Cap mold or something. If we could have Doctor Doom a few waves ago (I still need to get that), then we can have Surfer.

I have the Marvel Select Silver Surfer... with the really cool stand & board.

It seems discontinued because it's $10 more now than when I bought it.

Anyone in the market for a Silver Surfer may want to pay a little extra on the aftermarket and get one of these for very obvious reasons. :D

I'd get that, but I always found the proportions a little off. It's a really cool figure otherwise.

Apparently the Guardians Legends were the highest selling Marvel figures Hasbro has ever produced- hopefully that inspires them so next year when they're a little less busy, we can have a comic-based Marvel Cosmic series, continuing on from that. I'd kill for a decent Annihilation Super Skrull, Ronan the Accuser, Silver Surfer, a nice Vance Astro, a Phylla, Mantis, Bug, Jack Flag, Adam Warlock, some Inhumans, Beta Ray Bill...

Well...shit. Guess they're going to start putting different BAF parts in with different swap figures.

I still just can't help but be disappointed in the character selection- was hoping for a more Spider-Verse themed wave.

I never had any of the Marvel Legends growing up, but this thread sure does make me miss my She-Ra, GI Joes, Gargoyles, Aliens, Predator, and Spawn action figures.

Am I the only one who thinks that Silver Surfer looks like he's playing some weird ass imaginary guitar? Or perhaps that he's "derping" out in that pose?

Keen observation, but I meant the Howard bonus figure! It's actually the only 6" scale Howard made and it's not bad for what it is.

What's the problem here? If you buy all 6 from the wave you can build the completed BAF. No need to wait for more swap figures to make it into the channels. I really did not like that about the last Iron Man wave.

I know people wanted more Spider characters, but it's still a pretty good selection. Daredevil could have been another Spider-Verse char, yeah. But at the same time, we really needed a new Daredevil. :)

Aw man, this just made me remember that there were two figures that I wanted but could never just commit and buy them cause I thought it'd be weird lol

Hey maybe you guys can help me out.

I have the DC Collectibles Justice League set that comes with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Cyborg. I have them set up on one side of my tv and I would like a similar Avengers set up to stand on the other side. Is there a line of Marvel figures that are similar in height/build that would look well against the DC figures?

Preferably a set but if not I can buy them individually.

Marvel Selects are the most scale-accurate to DC Collectibles- they're just a little too big for Marvel Legends. The problem there being that Selects go out of stock after a couple months and don't usually get reissues, so they end up costing a little extra (or a lot extra if you want a Watcher, apparently), and they don't do sets.

If you want to put together a movie team, between the last couple major film releases still having their stocks in okay shape, and the Age of Ultron figures and reissues, you should be able to fill out most of an Avengers display- just no Black Widow or Hawkeye. Comic figures are a little better, but still scattered around.

miguel ohara looks sick. i hope they do a miles morales figure soon

They did- he ended up pretty bad. Hopefully we see a new one in the next Spider-Man wave.

Those guys are in the 7" scale right? These guys http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I6EUBS8/?tag=neogaf0e-20

If so the Marvel Select figures are in the same scale and loot to have the same amount of articulation. You'll have to buy them individually though.

Yes, that's them.

I'll hunt down the Select figures. What's a good line up to stand next to the DC figures? I know I want Thor, Cap and Stark. Would love at least a Black Widow if possible but I'm not sure on who else to go for.

Edit: Also, thanks to Drayco.

DC Collectibles figures are just ever so slightly bigger than Marvel Legends. By like 5 or 10% so it's really close.

There are no packs that will get you the whole team of Avengers, sorry.

My advice... buy them piecemeal as Hasbro is releasing a Marvel Legend version of all the core Avengers throughout 2015, but in different waves. it will take more work since you can't just buy one box that has everything, but you can assemble the team if you put a little time into it.

We are still waiting on concrete details on exactly which Age of Ultron ML figures are coming... but we know for a fact Cap and Hulk are getting movie version figures. We are also getting a Thanos but I'm not sure it's the movie version or just a really awesome looking comic version.

Here is the Wal-Mart exclusive wave of ML released for the first Avengers film. Some of these are really expensive on the aftermarket now though :(

I should note I'm looking to avoid MCU style figures (though I will probably grab those anyway for the eventual DCCU figures). I'd like comic style.

In that case, you'll probably want to accept that they'll be a little shorter, and go with Marvel Legends. No one beats Hasbro when it comes to making figures based on the comics.

Oh, well if you want comic style you have tons of options. Again you can't buy them in a pack together you'll have to go individually but you can find good versions of every character.

Look through this thread for pics of some newer ones coming like the new 2015 Thor which is really nice. Scarlet Witch, etc.

For hulk you have tons of options, I have this one -- it's massive and only $20

here is a hulk I see recommended to people a lot... Face Off Hulk, you can get him on eBay for not that much.

Face+Off+Hulk+Art.jpg

I'll do that then. What's a good line up?

My current Avengers set-up is the Marvel Now Captain America (from the Winter Soldier line last year), Bleeding Edge Iron Man (Iron Man 3), and Winter Soldier Black Widow with space cleared for the Thor, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel and Iron Fist that are all coming out this year. At this point, there aren't a ton of characters who don't have Legends figures, so I'd just think about which characters you like the most and look at the different costumes on Amazon to find the team that appeals most to you.

Did I mess up by selling this brand new for like $3 a few months ago?

Come on don't play stupid, that's way below the MSRP let alone it's accrued value over time.

Why'd you sell it so cheap?

Don't care much for the 1st Appearance look though, personally. Every since McFarlane changed the way we think about how Spidey looks it's been no going back.

Got this Marvel Select Venom coming in the mail. First Venom figure I've seen that captures the creepy, stalker, Anti-Spider-man vibe of earlier venom.

Was never a fan of the rampaging slobber monster Venom.

Sold it at a used bookstore that also sells toys because I didn't want to try ebay.

Face Off Hulk is the greatest hulk legend. His only flaw is his hands but even then they are nice.

All 3 in the pack are good for me since I don't own a Fury yet (despite technically owning the body mold 2x already :p)

Looking pretty good. About the production quality I expected

God I love this figure. Really want to grab a second to display him with the tongued head/claws. Hasbro seriously needs to get their shit together and release a new Venom in a new mold.

I don't either, but I wish he wasn't on that damn trenchcoat body- or that they'd at least make new arms for figures on the mold, to give them some range of movement. Though I guess I don't need Sam Jackson's Fury to be doing any crazy Steranko shit on my shelf- just standing intimidating with some SHIELD guys.

Hasbro really putting effort into their ass sculpts lately

Except for poor Pete:
