Yes. I loved it. But I wanted more. I liked the "who's going through the tubes?" tasks more than the typical combat parts, and I wanted more unique sections like that: reaching a certain object by a certain time to allow teammates to progress. It felt significant.Lakitu said:The final battle in Mass Effect 2 (besides the very last boss) was fantastic. Why? Because you actually felt like you were the commander, making important decisions, who would do what. It felt like the lives of the whole team were in your hands.

I didn't mind the Human Reaper that much, but the thing I would have loved in ME2 is a real confrontation with Harbinger like there was a confrontation with Sovereign/Saren in ME.Blue Ninja said:Both ME and ME2 had great endgame sequences. Going into the Collector base in ME2 was exciting, especially the first time, when the mechanics of surviving weren't clear. I was clustered to the edge of my seat until the moment where I climbed aboard the Normandy and flew the hell out of there.
Both games, however, have a terrible final boss. Both had poor story explanations (Sovereign implanting Saren to indoctrinate him, the human Reaper apparently being built out of humans), and both were laughable. Saren was like an overpowered Geth Hopper, and the Proto-Reaper was an oversized whack-a-mole. They could've had us fight the Collector General, and the fight would've been a lot more meaningful.
So BioWare, if you're going to include a final boss, make sure it's a good one.

jett said:Oh right I just remembered. :| I only played ME1 once and it's been two years since. I guess it speaks volumes about the actual bossfight that I forgot entirely about it.![]()

Considering that Harbinger isn't dead that might happen in ME3.
By confrontation I mean talking to him, like you could talk to Sovereign on Virmire.Fimbulvetr said:That would be a no go. Harbinger would annihilate you, all things considered.
im giving you permission to cum on my face.Solo said:Make a direct comparison to ME1's endgame it falls several orders of magnitude short. Fighting on an alien ship against a human-reaper-baby-thing which you can kill with a pistol just is not even in the same league as storming the Citadel and taking down Saren, all amidst a gigantic battle raging on against Sovereign outside the Citadel.
ME1 has one of the best endgames of all time. ME2 has an endgame.
EmCeeGramr said:god this final boss of me2 is taking forever even with super special heavy weapons like lasers and nukes and black hole guns just sit still asshole!!!
*pulls out widowmaker, activates every buffing power, suddenly half of boss's health bar disappears*
heh

Well for ME having a dialogue boss battle wouldn't be that different either. Just pick the blue or red option.Fimbulvetr said:It was soooooooooooo boring and sooooooooooooo easy. They should just have a dialogue based boss battle one of these days.

Fuck me? :'( They are awesome, I was just playing renegade Shepard (jellyfish, etc.) Why must you be so mean? I'm SO telling mom. :'(Fimbulvetr said:Fuck you. Cuttlefish are awesome.
They will be revealed as the true superior race of the galaxy and decedents of the Reaper's creators.
Well, before the final boss Mass Effect 2 is a fine, forgettable little side story, but that changes when they pull the shittiest, most moronic twist imaginable. It's the kind of stupid that changes the way you feel about the whole franchise.Gui_PT said:I haven't finished ME2 yet, but it feels like the story just isn't going anywhere. Does this change towards the end or should I get ready to be disappointed already?
Mr_Zombie said:Yes, but it would be better if there were no character descriptions when you had to make a choice who do you want to sent where. It spoiled everything (and yet people still managed to get their team members killed :lol). I mean, you've spent the entire game babysitting your teammates, you should know what they are good at; the last mission should verify whether or not you cared about them.
Kitschkraft said:A lot of people lost Mordin because they didn't know that he was the one who should be sent back with the survivors, that was very sloppy. A lot of people sent back guys like Zaeed or Grunt because it seems like that was going to be a tough fight on the way back, instead, it was practically a get out of jail free card.
EmCeeGramr said:The best thing about Mordin is apparently because he's at the very bottom of the "fragility" scale they use to pick who dies, he can still randomly die even if you do everything perfectly.
Solo said:While I happen to agree with you, I was simply trying not to steer this back into another ME1 vs ME2 battle.
Final Destination EffectLCfiner said:Like if he survives the mission and then chokes on his dinner back on the Normandy on the flight back home.

if you bring the heavys to fight the last boss she will die. tali is among The Weakest Defenders along with Kasumi, Jack and mordin.Fimbulvetr said:Shouldn't Tali be at the bottom of that list?
Relaxed Muscle said:Mordin survived in my first playthrough, even taken him with me, I left Chakwas alone in her return to the normandy, obviously she died...
I supose I was lucky....

We could not be prouder of the teams accomplishments with Mass Effect 2, and are excited and humbled by all of the recognition the game has received so far. We cant wait to show you what the team is doing to make Mass Effect 3 an even bigger success.

Jack needs to be loyal and have the L5 implants.Fimbulvetr said:No. Someone else in the squad dies because her shield gives out early.
Same as with an un-loyal Jack or Samara.
LCfiner said:oh God, this.
poor Mordin. I thought sending back that one guy to take care of the crew was a suicide mission ("yo dawg, i heard you like suicide missions") so I sent Zaeed.
My one mistake.
When I run through ME2 a second time early next year, I'll be sure to have Mordin sent back with the others. (or come along with me to face the Contra boss...)
Kinyou said:I remember Tali dying because I let her and not Legion hack the door.
It still confuses me though, because you'd think she'd be the at least the second best choice for a tech mission
