Not sure if already posted... Media Create comments about Week 19 (and Golden Week as a whole).

Turning from swelled sales in first half of Golden Week, sales in latter half were stagnant

・ Total software sales were 392 thousand copies.
Because sales decrease of popular title released in last week was huge, they halved to 52.12% of last week.
Also, they were 89.17% of same week last year, so the plunge in sales in latter half seems considerable.

・ Total software sales during the Golden Week including last week (from April 27th to May 10th) were 1.144 million copies.
They increased to 113.61% of the same period last year (from April 28th to May 11th in 2014: 1.007 million copies).
As for sales by each format, sales of PS format were 92.92% of same period last year, while those of Nintendo increased to 125.97% of same period last year.
They were 66.46% of same period in 2013 (from April 22th to May 5th) and were 61.01% of same period in 2012 (from April 23th to May 6th), however: it can be said that, although they outnumbered last year's result, they were stagnant compared to past few years.

・ Total hardware sales were 76 thousand consoles: they were 82.86% of last week.
Total hardware sales during the Golden Week were 167 thousand consoles, which were 94.80% of same period last year, so, unlike software market, they fell below last year.
When it comes to sales breakdown by each console, sales of handheld plunged to 71.81% of last year, while those of home console increased to 148.10% of last year.
Therefore, the total amount of hardware sales on a monetary basis increased to 108.37% of last year.

Damn it, couldn't even get rid of that lone green bar...

Well, if any of you were hoping for Code Name S.T.E.A.M. 2, I suggest you go back to wishing for Shenmue 3 :p

That is one big bomb. STEAM always looked more western, so I suppose that could factor in to why it didn't do well, but come on, this is a Nintendo game from the Fire Emblem guys, you'd expect it to move more than that!

Clearly you haven't heard of Advance Wars Days of Ruin.
(it was canceled in Japan, then later released as a Club Nintendo reward)

It's sad for people who like these kind of games but I didn't enjoyed the demo so I'm only sad that a new IP is failing like this. I hope it won't change Nintendo's way of trying to make new things now and again but I'm confident and already hoping for nice surprises at E3.

Maybe they should have stick with Advance Wars but again we want new IPs so it can't be a huge success every time (more importantly when it's this niche type of games).

Edit: talking about Advance Wars and having read Sammy Samusu's post I'm not sure keeping the AW franchise would have give more sales :p

FFX/X-2 tanked. Xenoblade X continues to lag behind Xenoblade more. Codename STEAM cratered. Terra Battle finally getting another patch this week. What a lovely day.

This is how Advance Wars: Dual Strike did in its Japanese debut, it did so poor that the following game was never released.

[NDS] Advance Wars: Dual Strike <STG> (Nintendo) {2005.06.23} (¥4.800) - 14.306 / NEW <37,3%>

I was thinking of buying CN Steam.. And then I tried the demo. With FEif around the corner, there's no need to.

Shame how low key things are getting, worried for Splatoon.

hey that's literally 680% higher than STEAM's debut!

Intelligent Systems should really know better than to try and make new IPs on dedicated game systems. Save that shit for F2P mobile. Real gamers only want more sequels! :)

They should also know that a bad design wont sell :p
I bet that if the design was closer to... well japanese anime, it would have easily sold ten times more.

Codename Steam has a weird design and I think a lot of people were surprised when it has been revealed.

Bingo. Was reading the latest Nintendo Force and they were framing it as a New vs. Old reason for not warming to the game. No, it's just because it's not appealing visually. A cartoon game with the same silly literature references with no Steampunk and usage meters just because this is a game probably would've been received better coming from IS.
