MegaSphere is a sci-fi themed action platformer with a big shiny gun, mad battle robots and unpredictable world that is different each time you play. Fight enemies, search for loot, hack AI's, upgrade weapons and your suit. No hand holding, no tutorials — play like a grown-up!

The art style is nice, and I like the destructibility of the environment. Not such a big fan of mixed resolutions with the pixel art, though.. I'd prefer if they did all their rotation, scaling and VFX before scaling the image up, rather than after.

Oh my *heavy breathing*. Subbed. This looks like a retro-esque love-child to Turrican and Metal Warriors - my cuppa tea. Awesome! Probably a PC-only thing, this?

The art looks very, very promising. The sounddesign on the other hand...
The audio + the open destructable environment are not in the games best interest imo.

The game seems to give me some really cool Turrican vibes, but it would also need a kick ass electronica soundtrack to go along :)

Chris Huelsbeck 4ever! ;)

I think the dev is going for a more atmospheric tone. Check out the sound design he's working on in the video a few posts up.

I'm kind of burned out on pixel art games, especially the meteroidvania "homages", but i gotta say, this game nails the looks.

Got super-excited when I read the thread title, and then I saw the screenshots.....
Dont like pixel art?

I never get this reaction. This game has wonderful lighting, physics, destructible environments, crazy particle effects, etc. Stuff that could never be done in older games. Nothing about it is "retro". Pixel art doesnt make game a retro or cheap. I doubt the dev could do this on his own if it wasnt pixel art

Doesn't seem to be a platformer to me. Looks like a straight up action game... But everything side scroller is called platformer nowadays.

Oh the game, it looks really cool. One of the various indie games I am waiting anxiously to play.

I thought I was the only one bothered by this kind of thing. I always find it jarring when games use pixel art but then cheat by throwing in elements that are higher resolution.
