I totally agree with this guy on this...
It's okay. In this life, not everyone is meant to be taken seriously, and there's no reason for you to be, either, I guess
I totally agree with this guy on this...
Some people simply prefer consoles and they wouldn't be wrong in doing so.
This really ruffled some feathers, huh?
If he talk about people that like to shit on every console games while portbegging them for years because they don't want to spend more than 5 five dollars on Steam sales, well, he's right.
I totally agree with this guy on this...
PC is the general term for them yes, but you know there's a difference between the words in their usual meaning. To all console players right here (except the Nintendo dudes):
Do you know that you are currently playing on x86_64 based PCs, right?
Actually, old&slow PCs, despite the new Pro and Scorpio, with no future over 2 years from now.
So all of you are already playing on PC.
My question is: are all of you retards?
You know when someone's statement sounds incredibly stupid, you might wanna give something more as to why you agree with it.I totally agree with this guy on this...
No.
A PC superiority complex is hatred. A passion for European ethnic purity will naturally lead to less tolerance for scientifically-proven lesser races. Being less tolerant about something =/= hatred for that thing. For example, athletes are less tolerant of foods and treats that are high in calories. Does that mean that athletes hate McDonald's, chocolate, and pizza? Nope.
I don't disagree. I replied directly to the individual claiming there is no good reason to play outside a PC. I disagree even if PC is my platform of choice.
It's okay. In this life, not everyone is meant to be taken seriously.
Also, don't use the word 'retard' like that. Seriously. It's in the same level as using 'gay' as a slur.
You fell that way every minute, I can see...
I've never said that.
I was simply talking from a technical point of view. Pc does things better and with more options.
But we all know it doesn't mean a thing to some people, and rightfully so.
But acknowledging a fact doesn't hurt anyone's feelings or way of life.
explain to me in no uncertain terms why it's okay
much less actually sensible
to say that "PC gamers are like racists"
give supports
demonstrate that you know what racism is and why it's awful while doing so
you're not going to get too far into writing that post unless you've really got no self-awareness at all.
No.
Racism is hatred. A passion for good performance will naturally lead to less tolerance for bad performance. Being less tolerant about something =/= hatred for that thing. For example, athletes are less tolerant of foods and treats that are high in calories. Does that mean that athletes hate McDonald's, chocolate, and pizza? Nope.
I'm just saying that technically speaking, PC outperforming console in almost every regard is factual. But to call gaming on PC factually better than anything else completely disregards an individuals situation and preference. And to me, that's what ultimately determines "better".
Yes, it did. This really ruffled some feathers, huh?
Emphasis mine, he's not talking about "just" playing games, he goes on more .. like that these people generally dont like to mix with other community from a different platform and look down to them as well.Well, people got called 'like racists' for just playing games on a platform.
I don't think they're comparable. I only play games on PC* because the kind of games that I play straight up don't exist on console or, in the case of first-person shooters, require you to play them with a control scheme that I loathe. It's not about brand loyalty, it's about actual, tangible things. There's a difference. There's extremists on every platform. There's guys who only play on Sony, there's guys who only play on Nintendo and there's guys who only play on Microsoft.

Give supports that show PC gamers acting 'like racists'. At the same time, demonstrate that you know what racism is, how racists act, and how it hurts people.

I agree with Pachter on this with this additional detail - not all PC gamers are like this, generally most are.
I mean they do call themselves the master race.
I've never said that.

Fair enough should've checked the statement you were responding too. I also agree with your sentiment being a agnostic platform gamer as the bulk of my favorite titles to this day are mostly arcade versions of things sans a few titles which are strictly pc/console.
So like most Sony-fans on GAF.
Not all Sony-fans are like that, generally most are.
He makes an analogy and it's pretty on point.
He makes an analogy and it's pretty on point. Any smart person world know he isn't putting both things at the same level. But well, we all can see how gamers react to words without reading beyond that.

* - I bought a Wii U to play Bayonetta 2 and the new Zelda, which doesn't even exist yet.
This one is pure gold man. Some Pachter gems to compare to in here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8R4BAQf7is
