Maybe so. It'd be a little weird, but knowing Monolith, who really knows?Best-looking game of the Nintendo Direct for sure. Curious to see more about how the game actually plays; have they directly mentioned a multiplayer component? The "Player 1" stuff visible on the HUD seems like a pretty good indication. Unless it's just placeholder text for mystery character names.

I managed to improve it with some nifty texture replacements:
monolithsoft should hire me. Xenoargghhg
2014 is to far away. I need to this game more and more every time I see it. Nintendo do not make us wait for this game. World wide release is needed. DO NOT repeat what you did with Xeonblade.
Looks like Alice Cooper.
Any ideas which song was playing there?
Someone asked Soraya Saga about the song on twitter and this was her response.Any ideas which song was playing there?

"That's newly written for X, as yet unreleased."
The music by itself has made to replay dat trailer at least 20 times. When I thought they couldn't they actually managed to make an even more exciting trailer. My most anticipated title right now! Call me HYPED.
Sawano sucks. I wantMitsudaACE+ back.![]()
The best tracks in xenoblade where made by ACE+.
And the best music from any Takahashi game was made by Mitsuda.

This game is seriously making the Wii U purchase more attractive. Just needs a price drop as I do need to buy a PS4 and SSB4 is still a whiles away.
straight from looneyville, lol
Seriously though, if you want to believe AC4 on ps3 looks better than this, by all means, praise that game in the appointed topic. No need to troll this one and try to convince people who actually still have their vision.
I'll def be getting a Wii U once the price drops and X and Bayo 2 are available.
EDIT: wow, so I can actually post. Hi guys!
My guess is that while this will take place in the same world as Xenoblade, it won't be called Xenoblade 2 in the West. Maybe they slap Chronicles on the end of whatever title they put.
I'm not that certain about that at all. The only similarities we've seen between this and Xenoblade in terms of world concept are the same similarities we see with Xenogears and Xenosaga - high tech cities, normal cities, giant robots, weird biomonsters.
The Japanese Nintendo site still clearly lists the game as "Brand New Title from Monolithsoft" so they're probably still deciding on the title. Iwata also specifically says the team is taking the experience they learned from Xenoblade and applying it to this new game. It's clear Nintendo is keen to make the connection that this is the successor to Xenoblade on the WiiU, but if the story is connected I think they would just come out and say it. Feels more likely that Monolithsoft wants to make a brand new world, and Nintendo wants to make sure people know it's going to be "like Xenoblade".
I've been obsessing over this game for a while, and at this point, I'm certain this has nothing to do with Xenoblade (aside from being its spiritual successor). The more I watch the trailer, the more I'm convinced that one of the basic premises of the game is that humans have crash-landed or have come to explore and possibly terraform a primitive alien planet.
I've organised my thoughts and evidence presented in the trailer into a (hopefully) tangible analysis below.
Firstly, let's take a look at the gargantuan grey structure that we see throughout the trailer. I've seen many people refer to it as a wall protecting a human colony, with the various protuberances atop it referred to as sentry guns or turrets.

But upon closer examination, they appear to be cranes and pulley systems. I believe this structure to be the ship - a crash-landed ship, to be precise - upon which the humans came, and the cranes and pulleys are used to salvage debris and whatnot.
To edify further, take a look at this screenshot and note the terrain around the ship. There's a clear deformation there indicating something cratered into it.

The second intimation comes from the trailer piece- rather, the first section (spans about twenty-eight seconds before abruptly ending and giving way to the bombastic choir segment). The atmosphere, I feel, that they're trying to convey with that music is one of exploration of uncharted territory (within the context of my theory, a foreign planet). Similar arrangements have been used in various sci-fi and adventure movies, unfortunately, however, nothing specific is coming to mind at the moment.
Another element that lends credence to my speculation is the stark technological contrast being displayed throughout the trailer. We see a myriad of high-tech machinery and weaponry, but nowhere can be seen even the most faintest glimmers of human civilization- no roads, guideposts, or anything indicative of the existence of intelligent beings. Of course, I realize we've only seen one area of the game, and it's subject to change, but this lends more to the "humans exploring foreign planet" portion of my theory.

And finally, the biggest piece of supporting evidence is the concept art of a crashed-landed UFO Monolith released way back when.

Might the scenery in that image have served as the basis for the game?
The similarities aren't quite as simple as you're making them out to be. Have a look at my post above to see a list of examples that show more than just a passing reference to Xenoblade.
