If the $65 needs a sub I'll join. Although it looks like Xeke is first in line on the waiting list.
It finally updated over the weekend.I'm not sure Yahoo's autodraft list is even updated for this month. Pretty sure it has Ryan Mathews as a top 10 overall option
Smart players will never rely on a site's default rankings to guide their decision making but they clearly influence draft tendencies when you look at the ADP results from Yahoo! during the stretch of time prior to them updating them.Does anyone actually use the yahoo rankings to make a decision?
I know I consult with multiple sites before ranking anyone. I usually have 4-5 browser tabs set to FF sites at draft time in case I get thrown a curveball I wasn't expecting.
To be fair, most ACTUAL drafts are also filled with idiots. Hence why mock drafting actually has some use. You can get a sense of what idiotic moves will get made and what loopholes may open themselves up for you to exploit on draft day.I don't see the point of mock-drafting from every position though. Every mock draft I've ever done was filled with idiots, and there was very little useful information to be gleaned.

I just landed Ray Rice at Pick #7. And had to choose between him and Lesean McCoy.
Just drafted my team in my other league today. What do you think? I'm personally not too happy with it, but we'll see:

I'm confused as to why he's drafting both a team defense and a defensive linebacker (albeit a good one).People need to start posting how many of each position they start. You are great at QB and WR but those are some iffy RBs.

Also put how many people are in the league. This had to be a 8 person league because you have like 7 4th round guys.
Is it too late to join?
This is my first time playing fantasy in a league of 12. Can someone give me any insight on how I did?

I like to see "rate my team" posts like this one as it closely mirrors the draft format we'll be seeing in No Quitters this Sunday night. Could well serve as a benchmark for the person that draws the 8th seed in our own draft to follow. You guys wanna take a look at my recent draft? I'm no expert, but I kinda liked what I did. Oh, it's a 16 team league with 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, and 6 Bench spots. Also, I had the 8th pick in the snake draft format.
1. (8) Drew Brees (NO - QB)
2. (25) Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)
3. (40) Marques Colston (NO - WR)
4. (57) Frank Gore (SF - RB)

10. (153) DeAngelo Williams (Car - RB)
11. (168) Jon Baldwin (KC - WR)
12. (185) James Jones (GB - WR)
13. (200) Kellen Winslow (Sea - TE)

15. (232) Steve Breaston (KC - WR)
16. (249) Justin Tucker (Bal - K)

*snip*
Really like the DeAngelo grab in the 10th. Easily your best pick. Also like grabbing Brees with the 8th pick if this is a 6-point-per-passing-TD league.
A concern I had in my draft was with my pair of KC receivers... I'm not a big fan of that offense and those were kinda desperation picks. Any tips for sleeper WRs?
The next couple picks went pretty much by the books here.I was just given a gift in my 8-team co-workers league (where we're running a protracted E-Mail draft).
Picking from the 7th slot and everyone went on a crazy QB run early in the 1st round that included both Eli and Peyton Manning.
Stafford, Newton, Ryan and Romo are still available and I was given the luxury of selecting between Rice and McCoy for my first pick. (I went Ray Rice but I gave this quite a bit of thought... was very close.)
Needless to say I'm going to happily sit on QB for a while and grab an elite WR/TE with my 2nd pick. (This is a one QB league... not two. No reason for this early run.)
ROUND ONE
1.1 - Tom Brady (QB)
1.2 - Eli Manning (QB)
1.3 - Aaron Rodgers (QB)
1.4 - Drew Brees (QB)
1.5 - Arian Foster (RB)
1.6 - Peyton Manning (QB)
1.7 - RAY RICE (RB) - my selection
Fun thing about this league is that it's my first IDP league so we'll be drafting defensive players as well.
Red Robin Rises
Starters:
Philip Rivers QB
Darren McFadden RB
Steven Jackson RB
Antonio Brown WR
Demaryius Thomas WR
Malcom Floyd WR
Aaron Hernandez TE
Nate Kaeding K - Not Drafted
Green Bay DEF
Bench:
Maurice Jones-Drew RB (He will eventually be a starter when he ends this holdout)
DeAngelo Williams RB (Trade-bait right now but we'll see)
Ronnie Brown RB (Could be worth it if Ryan Matthews misses time)
Joel Dreesen TE (I always like the starting TE on a Peyton Manning team) - Not Drafted
Nate Burleson WR (Just for WR depth) - Not Drafted
Brandon Stokley WR (Low risk with big upside, I think) - Not Drafted
Dropped:
Ryan Fitzpatrick QB (No need to hold a 2nd QB in a 10 team league)
New York DEF (Ditto for defense)
Tony Moeaki TE (He is good but I don't like the QB lol)
Nick Novak K (Kaeding will be SD's kicker)
uh, what was the paypal again for the pay league? I can't find it anywhere. Not in the league notes, not in my PMs.....
One thing you'll clearly note due to the 1 starting RB rule that running backs are sliding much deeper in this draft compared to others...The next couple picks went pretty much by the books here.
1.8 - LeSean McCoy (RB)
2.1 - Calvin Johnson (WR)
Now had this been a different league I would have probably rolled the dice with McFadden given his upside potential and already owning a rock in Ray Rice.
But a quirk about this league I failed to mention in my initial post is that we only start a single RB each week. And I don't see myself being too inclined to bench Ray Rice for anyone too often... except for maybe when he's facing Pittsburgh.
So a stud WR/TE was really my only consideration here... which effectively made this a decision between Jimmy Graham and Julio Jones. And with no real urgency to pop the league's TE cherry (I suspect Graham & Gronk will both go before my next pick but even that's not a dead certainty in an 8-team league), I elected to roll with the upside of fantasy's flavor of the month in Double J.
2.2 - JULIO JONES (WR) - my selection
2.3 - Matt Forte (RB)
2.4 - Darren McFadden (RB)
2.5 - Jimmy Graham (TE) - drafted by the Brees owner; betcha he's happy
Now that everyone else has their starting QB locked up, I don't want to get too cute on how long I wait to secure mine with possible backups in play. I'm not planning on being the first guy to grab defensive personnel so I'll wait to see who falls to me in Round 5 and go from there. One of those other guys should fall to you anyways next round unless you pick up Matty Ice.
How many teams are in this league? 8? 10? It makes a difference on how to answer the question. Also, how much are passing TDs worth? 4 points? 6 points? Lastly, is your roster capped at 2 QBs or can you add QB depth to your bench?Curious now if I made the right choices with my QBs in the 2 QB league I am in. Choose two starting QBs out of these
Michael Vick
Peyton Manning
Phillip Rivers
Matt Ryan
Tony Romo

I'm not sure I like the idea of pairing any of those QBs in a 12-team 2-QB league. You'd only have shaky RB1 options available and you would have to burn both picks 1 & 2 on quarterbacks. (Then again, you could be in a 2-QB league with idiots... in which case you might be fine.)Can't believe I forgot to add all that info. 12 team league. TDs worth 4 points. Every 5 completions is 1 point. 2 point bonus for TDs of 40+ yards. Can have max of 4 QBs.

I DO like the idea of drafting two QBs with your first 3-4 picks... but I would try to go elite with my QB1 and then wait on my QB2 and roll with a guy like Fitzpatrick (6th in completions last season), Freeman (9th in completions last season), Flacco (banking on long bombs to Torrey Smith), Palmer, Luck or Locker. If you're grabbing QB2 in the 3rd, I'd want Big Ben given the absence of a sack penalty and the Steelers run game in shambles.
If I had to choose 2 of the 5 QBs you listed, I'd want the two I could draft the latest. Which based on current ADP would be Ryan and Rivers.
Looking at how that draft played out I'd say you did just fine.Well you can see how my draft went on the previous Page post 336. I took QB with both my 2nd round picks. Peyton and Ryan . Didn't know how was QBs were going to go. For reference Eli went one ahead of Peyton. Rivers 2 after Peyton. Vick one after Ryan. Romo 3 after Vick.
Shit, I fucked that up. I meant to have only one flex spot.
I'll change it to:
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 RB/WR/TE
1 K
1 D/ST
I've also added one injured reserve spot, but shortened the bench to five players.
The draft order will be set on Thursday. That gives you Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to plan your strategy and work out draft pick trades if you want to do them.
