New Dark Souls Announcement Coming? Like a Facebook page to find out.

What they should have done is said hey click here and like our Facebook and we'll send you through to the page detailing a special new announcement regarding Dark Souls........

Then Patches just kicks you down a hole.

Hopefully the PC sales are huge so when/if a sequel launches it will be day and date with the console versions and is patched as frequently as needed.

I'd love to see them to try something on iOS, but traditional Dark Souls would probably suffer without a Bluetooth controller.

I was thinking some sort of Myst-like adventure game as a prequel/side-story to Dark Souls would be a great way for them to kick off Android/iOS development and show off their skill at creating atmosphere and scenery porn in the process.

The series going from PS3 exclusive, to multiplatform on consoles, to PC lead would be a great story.
And a highly unlikely one. It would need to be huge on PC to justify that.

Day and date PC version would be nice though.

Though it's quite plausible that a Steam version would get patched sooner and more frequently than 360 and PS3 due to lack of certification process.

Awesome, all you PC players better buy this and play the hell out of it now.

I'm predicting an Alan Wake scenario where it breaks even in a timely fashion, followed by a steady trickle of sales plus thousands of new souls every time it gets discounted.

Don't see that happening but Day and Date with Consoles seems likely. If they can get it on Steam to just out the piracy, it should do well. Anything else and those dirty pirates and hackers will utterly ruin it.

Level DLC would be a nice addition but I would love some other additions like Boss Rush mode, 4v4 Arena mode etc.

Also, I hope From save a Dark Souls 2 announcement and release it next year when the 720 appears. 720 and PC version...Boom!

Some funny quotes from the facebook comment thread...I don't understand why people would be so against the idea of a PC port existing, hilarious immaturity.

What's with all of the PC comments? Dark Souls is a CONSOLE ONLY game. Let it be DLC.
Everything from the souls saga is very welcome, except Xbox or PC ports. Namco accept it, FromSoftware games runs better with SONY!!
The fact is that Dark Souls is a PS3 and 360 game. What makes PC gamers such special snowflakes that they should get this console game ported over to them?

This. I was one of the new souls that discovered Alan Wake on PC. Absolutely amazing game, but I didn't even really know it was hitting PC beforehand. This game, on the other hand, has a petition backing with thousands of sigs and is about as nerdcore as they come. It will recoup its porting costs in no time, no doubt. And it will sell by the bucketloads on any given Steam sale as well.

Day-yum. Bring it!

Reading those Facebook comments reminds me something I often forget posting here at NeoGAF: There are system fanboys out there.

(I'm sure there are some here too, but for the most part it seems like everyone can at least appreciate the effort that goes into games on other systems.)

So if it isn't a PC version do I get to drink all the tears?

Well PCPowerPlay is a PC exclusive magazine, so I doubt they'd run an article about a non PC platform getting Dark Souls...

Is that image of the magazine confirmed to be real?

It was posted by someone who works for the magazine.

Welp, that's good enough for me then.

Man, I wonder what the requirements will be. If by some miracle my PC should run it I'll definitely double dip.

Same, if I can run it, I shall double dip... maybe. I've turned into a wuss.

I think it's fantastic that more people will be able to play this great game, but at the same time, if it's just a straight PC port I'd be a little disappointed "as a fan" personally. Needs to have some added content that will filter down to the PS360 versions as well.

I'm hoping for a new experience that will bring me back to Dark Souls, because after 140 hours I've moved onto something else and just making a version that run better on a PC isn't going to do that.
