New Resident Evil 5 Trailer shown!

I hope they make Resident Evil scary again, I was really unimpressed with the creepyness level of Resident Evil 4. Really fun game, but not scary at all.

Hm, RE5 sure is nice, but im rather disappointed by this trailer.
No troll at all, really, but everyone always said "RE5 on Wii? That´s impossible, dude", but this looks like a visual enhanced RE4, just another setting. Im sure the game will be awsome, but now i can see the game coming to Wii as well, without cutting away major contents.

Anyway, Chris rules!

What the hell... Are you honestly for real?

* lolz in MasterMFauli's general direction *

I dont see what´s wrong with my statement, fellow RE-fanboys. :-)

The visuals are awsome and only achievable through nextgen-technology like X360 has it. But the environments, and their scale, isnt something that wouldnt be possible on Wii, opoosed to, say, Assassins Creed. Really, calm down, lol.

What did you expect? The CG visuals of the July 2005 teaser trailer???

Ok i´ll make it super easy for you :-)

All the Wii-haters always said "RE5 on Wii? LOLz, that would have to be a whole different game !!!11". After this trailer, it´s clear to me that this wouldnt be the case, it just wouldnt be as beautiful. But RE4 Wii already looks great. Understand?

In any case people got hyped by this at the MS conference. Capcom revealed and showed Biohazard 5 early in July 2005. Afterwards it submerged, it didn't show on E3-TGS 06, and fans got restless, and now finally after 2 years we get new media. This whole 2 years course aids in hyping...

At first, i really thought it was MGS4 lol.

and Africa? i thought they would choose the Middle East or something.

anyway, awesome trailer.

Wrong.

after viewing the trailer, i actually kinda sorta agree with this. :/

So.... is it me or did that actually MATCH the target render set one and a half year ago? :lol

I don't see that shit happening too much as of late...

wasn't this more a teaser than a trailer?

I guess it's o.k.

I am not very impressed, to be honest. The setting looks a tad uninspired and with the typical "High Definition" generic graphics assets I have been seeing since I got my 360.

also, I am not sure that an african setting is the best for the kind franchise RE has always been.

Just cancel the 360 and PS3 version, reuse all the assets from RE4 and sell it for the PS2 and Wii. Hell use the RE:CV engine and throw a DC version out there just for the **** of it.

They'd have to completely remake all the assests, so Capcom might as well make an entirely new game. RE5 could not be ported.

Basically, any RE game based on the RE4 type engine, until it gets tired, is going to cook balls! Kind of a no brainer this will be a hot game.

Now if I could get Sony or MS to work the wiimote into their console, it'd be the greatest game of all time! Or hope that Nintendo release the 16 core Wii 2 VR headset Holograph machine in time.

Not really.
Pure visuals are way better, yeah. But the scale and the designs are nowhere near impossible for Wii. I mean, im glad, you´re glad, happy, aint we :-)

oh, FFS!!

I like the African theme. Seems very Serpent and The Rainbowish.

:lol what?

Serpent and the Rainbow was set in Haiti and the Amazon rainforest.

It did remind me of the atmosphere a bit though ... if they have some nightime levels ... it will really remind me of it.

Haha, I was going to say that. Serpent and the Rainbow also sucked.

a nice look at his arm xD

Bulking up so he can compete with the Gears of War dudes on 360.
Exclusive unlockable zombie Gears of War characters in 360 version
of RE5 confirmed!
Waves of zombies yelling "look at all that juice!"

I've got to say I'm a little disappointed with the setting. Another Resident Evil set in a remote village halfway around the world. Half the brilliance of the earlier RE games was their locale. It made the horror a lot more tangible imagining how it would be to find the city right outside your door overrun with zombies. But here we have a presumably African setting, so right off the bat it's both foreign to most of the target audience and already a bad result for the character before you even talk about viruses or monsters. Let's face, Africa is messed up. It's like putting RE in the middle east, i.e. plenty horrific on its own merits.

I too think the core gameplay CAN be done on the Wii.

While the aiming would be undeniably superior, it just wouldn't be the same. If Capcom wants to put an RE4-style RE on the Wii, they should focus on making the next CODE: Veronica equivalent (counts in the storyline as much as the other games, but has no numher).

RE game's creators are japanese so I don't think they care much about locale feeling :)

This was easily the best part of the conference. I got chills watching the trailer. Africa is such a wonderful setting.

Trailer looked good. But those saying it matches the target render need glasses, no game this generation is matching the original RE5 trailer.

The whole reason for that changes into more bigger/open far locales...
Is simply because they received a lot of critcisism, because of the usual formula of an american town/house overrun by zombies, then the usual hidden lab and then the escape.

Also is a fictionary place. Just like Raccon City was a ficitionary city in the US, and the village was in a fictionary place in Europe, probably the same situation here but in Africa..or heck, maybe Haiti or Jamaica or Dominican Republic; considering all the stories regarding zombies in this countries in the caribbean as parts of rituals.
