This guy speaks the truth. Stop complaining about Xbone. It's got the prettiest and the most interesting games. It is a machine for gamers by designers whose vision revolve around balance. Resolution is only one part of the equation. Framerate dominates everything and Titanfall, CoD, BF, Forza, etc all run at 60fps. In the end, it's not even about framerate but about games and Xbone has that in spades. If devs can toil away on PS3 to produce games as beautiful as Uncharted, TLoU then they can definitely outshine all console competition with only one alleged obstacle.

I don't know anyone working in Microsoft's entertainment and devices division, but from a few friends and acquaintances working elsewhere in the company, Microsoft's a pretty toxic and dysfunctional place to work.

Example: Ballmer made it a requirement that departments/managers fire someone after each review period (the idea being to encourage people to be the best employee in the department).

Not only does this make a lot of employees constantly terrified, it also means that managers deliberately hang on to shitty employees so they can have someone to fire at review time instead of having to let go of someone valuable. If they've got multiple shitty employees, they trade them to other managers/departments for favors so that those managers can save their department from having to someone who knows what they're doing.

If this sounds insane and unreasonable, that's because it is.

JFC. That's fucking awful. I can't imagine working under such vile regime, having to constantly watch your toes and even then it's not guarantee that your job is secure. That'd explain the back-stabbing and various internal bloodbath reported amongst the employees. If you think your job is in danger then you'll try to make someone else look bad. Personally though, I'd rather quit and find a better job elsewhere.

God I love console launches at GAF, I remember reading the forum last time around and shit got even crazier than this it seems. Maybe that's just because I was younger though who knows. It's going to be nuts here for the next month. I think this GEN has much more of a likelihood for epic meltdowns as GAF's approval process is much quicker now than it was way back then.

That said I honestly do hope that these issues are sorted out before or close to launch. I would hate for anyone to drop console money on something that doesn't work. Sure we all know that the xbone is going to be the weaker hardware device but that's not as important as it not working day one for people who buy it.

I never had plans on getting the xbone day one but if I did boy I tell you I would be having MAJOR second thoughts about it.

this clearly speaks to the business plan that microsoft put in place for the xbone. they want that netflix and apple tv moolah.

actually, their vision of an all-in-one entertainment system is nice, sadly they went with apps first, games second, while trying to promote it as a "for gamers".

And this is why many of us as gamers are so upset. It's not just about the gimped hardware. It's actually much more about direction, intent, and policy. Those manning the ship at MS, had they not been outed, could have seriously altered the landscape of our beloved hobby forever. In fact, the damage could still potentially be done in the future. Vigilance on our part as gamers, to forcefully push back when need be, is absolutely necessary if you want to not have your current privileges eroded and want the focus to remain on deep, quality gaming experiences.

This is why all the criticism is so important. It will help to ensure that what MS attempted never happens again. Or at the very least, it deters them from attempting it again any time soon.
