Not really that surprising coming from an Ex MS guy, that think and care more about "benefits" than "innovations"

Sony and playstation are opposite and it's one of the reason why to me they've been and still are the best in the industry.

Glad this is the direction took here by Sony, PS4 been feed with incredible games that push it at max for years, and it's still not even finish with TLOU Part 2 and GOT that are coming in the next 2 months, PS4 is ending its cycle in the most glorious way just like past PS platforms. With that being said, so now it's time to let shine the next new generation Playstation Aka PS5 and simply logical for PS's 1st party to focus on the brand new hardware from now on.

Sadly, I think the PS1-3 games may not make it on next-gen. I've made my peace with that.

If they have just the biggest games I won't care anymore based on the commitment to first party focusing only on PS5. After so much talk about SSD's from both sides recently, I have no faith at all that a cross gen game will fully leverage next gen. The argument about PC's not being held back by SSD's is amateur hour stuff. No one has been targeting only systems with SSD's yet, at least that I am aware of.

Ah this narrative again. On the one hand..SSD's will open up possibilities for the future...in theory. But on the other hand, having a super fast SSD and I/O complex is really just Sony wasting their money on design that won't give that much return. I see......

Not sure why my prior post was deleted and I was asked to "dial back the trolling", I had no prior trolling to dial back on. My post was just being super-silly about a mistransalation on youtube's closed captions. If it was deemed inappropriate just say so. Being accused of trolling when it was just a bit of levity though...

Seems the negativity rubs off on people who don't even intend on it.

Yeap but I don’t think PlayStation ever suffered with that install base issue at launch.
Well Nintendo did with Wii U but definitely not with Wii or Switch.
That install base issue seems more a Xbox thing.

I don’t believe Knack or Killzone Shadow Fall could sell more if launched in a big install base.

It will have PS4 BC. Been confirmed many, many times.

This means they are not going to handicap their first party PS5 desgined games by making sure they can also run on the 1.81TF/Jaguar/Slow mechanical HDD jank.

Halo Infinite has been in development a long time. The theory is that it was supposed to be (and perhaps still is) an xb1 game, But now the Xsex is here they’ll double it up to that.

Little bit of a Twilight Princess situation. Given that xb1, xb1x and xbsx seem to suffer a naming convention failure, the Wii to Wii U comparison might be quite accurate.

Edit: and BOTW of course. Not bad company for halo to keep.
