I keep getting told how the PS5 is an underpowered system but then I end up seeing really good looking games on it. Ratchet and Demon Souls are just the start.

That was demon souls at 60 fps, not sure how different demon souls is from other dark souls games but in some of the dark soul's areas, their zones are massive.

Imagine being able to hold 60 fps with those details on a massive area like smoldering lake or cathedral of the deep. holy hells bells, that is some power there.

In my opinion some of xbox fans really hoped that MS will turn tables with the new generation. They patiently suffer as underdogs through ps4/x1 era in hope that MS will somehow return to glorious x360 days and will stand on equal ground agains Sony.
And now on the less than inspiring news from xbox side they experience mental breakdown on the basis their hope left unfulfilled and go through rapid radicalization, which is typical in such situations.

Now these are the kind of posts that ignite friction.
The posts that are completely out of this world's reality, and at the same time offending.

As far as I know neither one changed API. They just improve it. Microsoft is usind improved DX12 and Sony uses improved GNM/X.
Maybe Microsoft is forcing high level codes that can run on both PC and Xbox family.

I have not seen the video and I am not really interested in its content, I have searched for a comparative visual example of two images quickly in Google from the smartphone and it is the example that I have put as a plausible comparison. In parentheses I have already said that you only had to look at the preview image of the video and not at the video itself.

Late response here but I just wanted to clarify that I know it wasn't your intention to use that thumbnail and especially the video as a comprehensive comparison. That's why started by stating my comment was all beside your point. The example you chose by chance just happened to grab my attention and trigger my tangent because I think it's interesting how very common it is for people to prefer an image with crushed blacks over an accurate one.

PS5 API would be an advanced version of the PS4 API though. There’s no need to build from scratch.

The GPU has reduced the “time-to-triangle” from PS4’s 1-2 months to less than a month.

The answer is in the video. MS changed from XDK to GDK in an effort to make ports between XBO/XSS/XSX/PC easier. This is causing problems and some said it's one of the reasons we are not seeing games running on XSX.

Xbox One 1 TB has 780 usable (78%)

PS4 500 GB has 410 usable (82%)
XOne 500 GB has 365 usable (73%)

Digital Foundry says Quick Resume needs 40 GB reserved for XSX. Less for S.

So XSX and XSS will likely have a bit less than XOne usable, around 750 and 350.

PS5 will likely have around 85% usable, which is 700 GB.

Also, the entire PS4 OS uses decimal not binary, everything the user sees is in decimal. So advertising the SSD as 825 is fine because PS5 game sizes and saves are also shown to the user in decimal, same format.

We'll see. The X1 and XSX will be running the same UI, not the same core OS code, hence XSX running in a leaner 2.5GB of system memory. With SSD space being precious, we'll see how well optimized everything is. Price and availability of additional storage is definitely going to be a consideration for this gen, a day one priority for many.

The important factor is games.

Buying an XSX for 3rd party game over a PS5, despite the PS5 exclusives,, would only make sense if the PS5 was far far less powerful... like the Sbox is.

But thats not the case.

Yup, one of my motivator to get Xbox 360 was 3rd parties, Soul Calibur 4 in Xbox 360 was not just graphically better, but had also a better input lag, same for Street Fighter 4, and many other games.

Man this just remind me how fucked up PS3 situation in early gen was lol Sony really redeemed themselves with mid and end PS3 gen, and specially with PS4 hardware that really did everything right.

and I have already finished my preorder for xbox x since friday, so that makes me cool and easy

It's not American exclusive as I know quite some radicalized xbox fans who like Timdog FUD very much from other countries, it's just that America have the highest number of xbox owners, so proportionally they will have the biggest number of fans.

Just because you want to paint xbox in a very good light doesn't stop me from rationally address xbox situation and some of its fans behavior dynamic.
You can argue whatever you want, but situation when you lose sales 2:1 to 3:1, have mediocre 1st party lineup and no GOTY, first half of generation subpar versions of games everywhere, and on the second part sometimes better versions on a console that even xbox fan didn't bothered to buy and it was one of the fastest discontinue story for video game consoles - is a story of severe underperformance that require some willpower to step over.
And now we have a second chapter of this story, and for now it doesn't look like it plays significantly different than the first.
And I know quite some people who are heavily strained over this, who really hoped that x1 was just one-time mishap and MS will turn things around the same way Sony did with ps4. And some of them cope with it by denial, radicalization and going for obvious FUD stories to feel at least a bit better about current situation of their camp.

Very wierd. We don't have accessories in KSA. If they don't bring them by release. I will drive to this Geekay store. There is one 40 minutes drive from my home ( in Bahrain )
