And as for the Wii, yes the gameplay might be good especially if the games are from Nintendo, but in the next few years the PS3 and 360 games will be improving a lot in graphics and leaving the Wii behind in that regard.

They left Wii behind a long time ago.

Next-Gen was dropped eons ago, lolz.

Short of Capcom dropping the ball entirely, RE5 will make RE4 unplayable, not the other way around.
That doesn't really make any sense either. RE5 won't make RE4 unplayable and RE4 Wii doesn't make RE5 unplayable.

Personally I think RE5 will be a step backwards in terms of aiming, but with Capcom being exceptional at pushing hardware I'm sure it'll have other qualities to make up for it.

I have a better question. Why do people refer to the next X-box console as "Xbox 720"?

We all got together last week and took a vote - you weren't there?

Did RE4 GC and PS2 become something less than spectacular with the advent of the Wii edition? Did all those 90+ scores lose their credibility?

For that matter did all the debates about which was the "superior" version of RE4 with Nintendo fans backing GC for its atmosphere and Sony fans backing PS2 for its content get forgotten because of pointer aiming? I'm talking specifically about graphics and atmosphere here, because those were considered pretty important a couple of short years ago.

So RE5 might be different, but dated? No. Short of Capcom dropping the ball entirely, RE5 will make RE4 unplayable, not the other way around.
Well, Wii Sport Golf made Minna no Golf 5 unplayable. Same with Tiger Woods Wii vs 360 & PS3.

For some, next-gen only begins when we see something on the PS3 that lives up to the promise, hype and $600 pricetag.

Basically, wait until MGS4. Or enjoy your Wiis and 360s like the rest of us.

you cannot help but be excited. And as for the Wii, yes the gameplay might be good especially if the games are from Nintendo, but in the next few years the PS3 and 360 games will be improving a lot in graphics and leaving the Wii behind in that regard.

Did you miss the part where the world doesn't care?

You know, this is something I was pondering last night. A friend of mine gave me RE4 Wii for my birthday the other day (well, belated bday... It was in July). When I was on my usual streak of Saturday night gaming, I decided to give it a shot. The very thing I noticed was how fuzzy everything was and how washed out the colors were. It didn't look right to me. I mean I remember that RE4 always had that kind of grainy contrast, but I didn't remember it being that bad. That got me wondering.

Not too long ago, I managed to procure a set of component cables for my GC, so I currently have that set up along with my Wii (and 360 and PS2). Anyway, I decided to conduct a little comparison. I booted up RE4 on the 'Cube (in 480p, like my Wii), and got it to the part where you first start out; Leon is looking down the trail with the house in the distance. Then, I switched over to the Wii version and got to the same place. When I popped back and forth from one to the other, my findings were kind of shocking. On the GC version, everything -- Leon, the ground, trees, etc. -- was nice and crisp. Looks every bit as sexy as I remember it looking way back. Conversely, on the Wii, everything looks like it's blurred, and is nowhere near as sharp. And this isn't just my eyes playing tricks on me; switching back and forth between the two is like night and day.

So that got me thinking... Is RE4 Wii truly widescreen or did they pull the ol' stretcheroo trick (got rid of the bars and stretched the viewable area)? If I have some time later, I can try and snap some pics, though I have no way of doing direct captures and don't know if a digital camera will show the difference all that well.

Yeah, but we actually know npd sales.

No. IBM had a Broadway white sheet buried in their website, but after people on Beyond3D found it, they took it down. I believe Hollywood's full specs leaked before that, but I don't remember where.
Speculation that Wii is a GC die shrink was almost entirely true.

Anyone looking forward to Rachet & Clank Tools of Destruction?
I'm not because I've seen a game called Super Mario Galaxy which looks to make any other platform game look like shit to be rather honest. All I see in Rachet & Clank is it's the 5th game in the series. (4th if you really hated Deadlocked)
There is nothing new, nothing "next-gen" about it, it's just the same old Rachet & Clank played on the same old controller that dates back to the PSOne days.
Super Mario Galaxy, the 10th game in the main Mario series is far more interesting that the 5th game in the Rachet & Clank series, it's about constantly changing the way we play games so you don't continue to experience the same thing over but with better visuals this time round.

:lol

The lil mini planet platforming scheme? Done in RnC3 on the PS2 years ago... And that game then looks not as far off from SMG graphically and it's dated... Motion controls are a way to enhance your experience, it doesn't change it at all... SMG is still going to be a Mario game just with different controls... It looks a lil better, maybe sounds a lil better i dunno, perhaps animate better... And that's the same damn thing about Rachet, except it LOOKS like a Pixar movie in visuals and animations, they said the sound is going to be better than in Resistance which was 7.1, and, for people wanting a lil more, it even makes use of the motion controls... Plus, it has a thing called a story line as well... But, Mario is mario, and probably no matter what, even if Rachet is superior in every aspect, people still love punching the clown to that plumber, and will be better ... I would pray, wish, whatever that Rachet scores even .1 higher than SMG (or .5 for some of those pubs) just to witness one of the most spectacular meltdowns in gaming history... If it gets labeled as platformer of the year, oh man...

A new gimmicky control scheme warrants a next gen title I guess to some... Guess Six-Axis (since its missing rumble at launch) made the PS3 next-next-gen? This is out though already:

Upgrade to a PS4?

Stop posting, thank you.

PS2 is last gen even if it's outselling current systems. It's games are slowing to a crawl. People are still buying a last gen system. PS3, 360 and Wii are current gen period.
