New to the thread, but did anyone else notice the random fan join the on-field celebration during the Browns / Fins game?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya0FWgO2qVE

We were watching the Bills-Pats game at Wild Wings and this was on another TV. There was some dude in a Henne jersey being loud the whole game.

Anyway, when this happened he threw his chair down -- hitting the girl behind him -- and literally stomped away from his table. I swear I saw tears in his eyes. He stopped, turned around, and threw a dual middle fingered salute to the entire establishment. Then he went outside, and never came back.

It was glorious.

I should have done that. I was in a sports bar in Nags Head in the Outer Banks. One TV had the Ravens winning by 30. The other TV had the Raiders beating the Jets. The TV I was watching the most had Matt Ryan being sacked and fumbling and Roddy White dropping a TD pass.
Underneath they showed the Braves score. And it was raining.
A sad day for me.

Cowherd just made an interesting point ...

The top 10 quarterbacks with the highest ratings last week went 10-0.

The top 10 running backs with the most yardage last week went 4-6.

The league has truly changed.

What is interesting or insightful about this?

Small NT huh?

Hopefully we can expose that mismatch with Pouncey and get some consistent yards up the middle. Might be the thing we need to slow down the pass rush and open some passing on the play action.

Otherwise it seems to me that the Texans have enough talent to overwhelm our line on the edges if we get behind early and are forced to pass all the time.

Determines, if Mario plays up to his abilities he will completely destroy an OT. Guys is just a freak with his speed, size and strength. Personally I feel they have looked at this game since before the season as a major statement game. What better way to shed the "lack of tuffness" title than beating what is considered one of the physically toughest teams in the NFL? Add to that reports said after the Saints loss the feeling in the locker room wasnt depression or "here we go again" but the players were very pissed off they lost the way they did.

Face it, no one knows what you will get Texans. Kubiak nor Philips are known as great motivators.

That someone is listening to Cowherd?

Welcome to 8 years ago...

Cutting edge analysis!

Did he also say that "x must be great because of how much money he makes!"

Just slanting his argument. Cam newton had like 900 yards passing the first 2 weeks and was 0-2

Dont throw at Kareem Jackson. He is a ballhawk and covers his receiver like a damn glove.
I sense some sarcasm and hopefully he is the one assigned to cover M. Wallace. :D
Oh god I think I just threw up... oh here it comes again *hurl*

I think the Texans can get to Ben this week...

...bringing him down is a totally different story. I've seen countless Pro-Bowl caliber defenders get their mitts on him, and he just shakes them off like he's had practice having people try to subdue him and escaping. JJ Watt hopefully will be up to the task, but I can see Mario whiffing on a sack or two, and Antonio Smith is big, but not big enough IMO to bring down Ben himself.

I would love to hear Cowherd's analysis of Nebraska and what it is like to live there. That is where the Packers are located right? My knowledge of the geography of developing areas of the world is not the best.

Also, Rodgers can't be very good based on his contract. Last year must have been a fluke. Look at the numbers!

They key with Ben is not to go for the kill shot or to strip the ball (though it did work out well for the Colts last week). Instead of going for the big hit you just wrap up Ben (making sure to get his right arm) and wait for the cavalry to come and take him down.

If you follow that then Ben won't extend any plays. But it takes a disciplined defense.

If you got for big hits and whiff then he will kill you on some extended plays.

Anyone have their work desk/office/cube decked out in their team stuff?

I work in Niner country, although a bunch of coworkers are steelers fans, and have desk covered in Ravens stuff. Two Ray Lewis figurines, Ed Reed bobble head, a plethora of ticket stubs, Ravens towel, Orioles and Ravens Pennants. Makes it feel homey, and is always a talking point when I have visitors. Of course the biggest talking pieces I have are my Adam Morrison and Wally Szerbiack todd mcfarlane figurines. Why do I have them? Because they're hilarious.

At my office we are not allowed to decorate our office spaces with criminal paraphernalia.

I know Cowherd says stuff just to get a reaction, but when that reaction is "wow, what a great point he just made" it irritates me. The guy is a fucking idiot.

He just convinced you that quarterbacks are more important than running backs based on (I assume) qbr, running back yards and win-loss record.

That is fucking idiotic. Yes, the quarterback position is significantly more important. However, you can't possibly fucking know that or claim it is so based on such a tiny little insignificant amount of information. It's lazy, retarded and you should be ashamed of yourself for nodding along with him.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. Antonio Smith is tomahawk happy when he sees the ball, Mario seems to always get sacks by using his weight to swing around the QB, throw him off balance and have that momentum continue to drive him into the ground. It'll be up to JJ Watt to wrap Ben up and let everyone else bring him to the ground.

Since no Saints fans took me up on my offer last week, avatar bet old friend?

I watched the Lions/Vikes game on the NFL Ticket Short Cuts (every play in 30 minutes) this morning and it was pretty shocking to watch Minnesota completely implode in the second half. Three and out, after three and out, and more stalled drives just was insane to see play after play. I don't know if it was because every play was coming so fast for the reply, but they're in real trouble on both sides of the ball.

Nah, that is exactly how it looked in real time. That team is simply terrible.

I'm very curious and terrified on how exactly the Jets plan to keep Sanchez alive against the Ravens pass rush/blitz. I hope they don't rush Mangold back.

Vikes have adopted an inventive strategy of only "sucking for Luck" in the second half of games while staying competitive (within their means) in the first half.

What this means is that the latter stages of this week's Kansas City-Minnesota game will be GLORIOUS!

Saw this come through a fantasty feed for you Eagles fans:

Nate Allen has replaced Kurt Coleman as the Eagles' starting free safety.
Coleman was benched after giving up Victor Cruz's 74-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter last week. Allen is the far superior talent, but is coming off patellar tendon surgery and appeared slow in the preseason. IDP owners can note that Allen recorded 48 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions in 13 starts as a rookie last season.

Brian Rolle has replaced Casey Matthews as the Eagles' starting WILL linebacker.
And with that, the Casey Matthews experiment is officially over. The Eagles tried to make the fourth-round rookie their starting middle linebacker, but he flopped badly and lost that job. Then they tried him on the weak side and he blew that chance too. Now Rolle, who is better in coverage, takes over. It projects as only a small boost to the Eagles' struggling defense.

lol. "Dream Team" indeed.

If I were an Eagles fan, the dream would have died as soon as they signed Just Winz to be Vick's backup
and by backup I mean replacement for when he inevitably breaks bruises his leg.

While the Ravens have a solid D, they aren't really a sack machine. I think they only had 27 sacks last season? Suggs is a beast, no doubt, but after him there's not a huge pass rush. Has Kindle shown he's recovered from his skull fracture?

Not always. Some teams overachieve despite their coach (Colts, Cowboys, Chiefs, 49ers with Singletary).

The Vikings are 2-1 with any other coach.

When they fire Leslie I will revisit their level of suck.

TheBlueScreen Ralph Vacchiano
The Giants say that WR Brandon Stokley left practice with "a strained quad". ... which doesn't sound bad, but stay tuned. #NYG
Hopefully it's not too serious. I'm sure Eli would like to see his package get bigger in the coming weeks......

I wonder if Ramses Barden is healthy now. They can keep ahold of Clayton if Stokley is injured too much, and re-insert Barden. Still, Stokley saw a lot of action vs. the Eagles in the slot. I would hate to lose him.

BTW, wasn't it Nate Allen who worked on a great stiff arm by Bradshaw?
