Since there are alot of NGB fans here, How exactly do you avoid the fat electrocannon guy's attacks 100% of the time? Is there a pattern as to when he does what attacks, or are you meant to just hit once then keep moving?
The animation/general visual tactile response to inputs in all of Platinum's games is pretty bad. Feels like sliding around an action figure.?_?
The game feels game near perfect IMO, I don't even know what to say.
I like Sigma 2 more than the original. The original version was poorly balanced and has some really shit boss fights that are simply not fun, worm fight immediately comes to mind.

It has to be an engine thing or something, because all of their games feel off.
lol SURE BUDDY.
well at least there are some action game fans in this thread.
Purple mist instead of blood, mandatory side kick levels, less enemies on screen, the game crashes if your PSN connection is lost, I forget what else are the negatives. So PS3 Sigma 2 it is then!
Are there any drawbacks? No blood, 30fps or some other bullshit? What does improve over the original x360's release? I remember there being a bunch of problems with bugs/framerate/spawns etc for NG2
They removed dismemberment from Sigma 2.So PS3 Sigma 2 it is then!

NGB is a good game.. but MGR has it beat by far.

Sorry but the proper answer is Snake's Nightmare.
I gotta say it surprised me how more brutal feeling NG2 was compared to NG1. But then again the way dismemberment happens makes sense I guess (how combat actually might playout in a real sword fight minus magic and stuff)... Didn't both NG1 and NG2 have insanely long development times?
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? I just don't get how you can be a fan of true action games and have a crazy idea like this. I really felt like I was playing a different game than most.NGB is a good game.. but MGR has it beat by far.
waaaaaaat?
I feel like I played a different game than some of you. Bayonetta is one of the best controlling games I've ever played. Every single button press feels like magic to me. Just doing combos in the loading screen has kept me entertained for FAR too long. Even stuff like the ice skates and panther mode feel incredible when moving through the levels.
And Vanquish? Probably the most pixel perfect controlling shooter available on analog sticks.
Wow. That's a totally different game. So I take it there is no obliteration techniques? They removed dismemberment from Sigma 2.
Obliteration is still there, but it looks lame.Wow. That's a totally different game. So I take it there is no obliteration techniques?
And, I just want to add, as much as I disliked Rising, I loved Bayonetta.
I can safely say that NGB has MGR beat by a considerable margin. While I am half joking about beating NGB with a handful of moves per weapon... MGR is Parry: The Game featuring Blade Mode and Zandatsu. They even made a mode where everything dies super fast just by parrying and its called Revengeance.
Probably because it doesn't belong in this conversation.
ZOE3, believe.RIP Shuyo Murata. Doomed forever to be Kojima's lapdog assistant director/writer on MGS games now.![]()
does LHK also have to defend his 10/10 for DMC2?
The biggest drawback of Sigma 2 is that it's the dumbed down version of the game. Battles are very small in comparison to NG2, and that ruins the game's balance since Ryu was designed to deal with large groups of enemies, not just 5 or 6.So PS3 Sigma 2 it is then!

Didn't they remove beheading at least? Maybe I'm just thinking of a different game. They removed dismemberment from NG3, not Sigma 2. They didn't fuck the game up THAT badly.

Edit: can't believe I forgot dismemberment's removal

I was wrong about dismemberment, so that's good. It's a much more even experience compared to NG2. The difficulty spikes have been smoothed and most of the bugs fixed. What the hell?! Even dismemberment and blood! -_-
Then why the heck should I play Sigma 2 PS3 instead of vanilla on 360?
What's improved?
The framerate is pretty good, Ayane is fun to play as, i think they added online stuff for sigma 2 not in vanilla, I think they also improved the bow (but removed the windmill shuriken) It's been years since I've touched Sigma 2 so I don't recall well and it's starting to blend with NG3 because Hayashit spouted the same bullshit to justify the changes in both games lol. What the hell?! Even dismemberment and blood! -_-

Once you get good at the game you only press guard to do the roll, jump, roll combo which is still one of the fastest ways to get around in a action game, even compared to bayo and DMC.
Anyone who played the MGR knows that shit is lame.I'm not going to rank these, but I want to say that I wish any mechanic to remove dizzy, do extra damage or get out of a grab by rotating the stick furiously or mashing a button should go.
Magic can be a way to describe it. It doesn't feel like I'm controlling a character that exists in the game's world -- more like I am the magician behind the screen pressing magic wizard buttons to make fantastical things happen.waaaaaaat?

Heavenly sword has zero camera issues too

Try Enslaved. It's got one of the deepest, most intricate combat systems in the genre. There are some really impressive videos out there with some insane combos. The only downside is that the platforming can be very, very tricky at times.

Ninja Gaiden is much different. Do you know the feeling of driving a car? As the sound and feel of the running engine and the tires gripping and rolling over the road runs through the entire vehicle, as well as the steering wheel you have in your grip that lets you control what move the vehicle makes and the accelerator (or brake) under your foot, and you see the movement that results from your control through what is immediately visible or through mirrors... it starts to feel like the car is an extension of you. When traffic whizzes by your vehicle, sometimes your reflexes kick in to some degree as if the traffic was right next to you even though you have a few feet of space and layers of whatever vehicles are made of between the outside world and you.
That's what Ninja Gaiden is like. Each input gives me feedback that feels right, through what I can see, feel (through rumble), and hear -- a true sense of control and being. A different type of magic.
