Oh my. I saw Zelda, Metroid icons. Such a tease. I seriously doubt they will announce both at the same time.

If they do, and SE announces a Kingdom Heart HD collection, I will probably be in shock for a month.

The Internet curtain better actually make that noise every time you use it. It will make whatever horrible thing you're unveiling even better.

What's remarkable is that something as minor as that was able to crash GAF for a while. E3 is going to be BAD.

EDIT: Personally, I think the Miiverse idea is pretty damn compelling. Not sure how well it's going to work once a bunch of teenagers get a hold of it, but it's an interesting idea for a home screen.

so we're back.

no 3DS at the conference is nuts. sure that's what he said? they must have so much wii u software if they had this presentation for hardware, and they're excluding 3DS

Being locked to playing online against players from your own region. That controller is ugly as hell too. Other than that, it was about what I expected; some small stuff regarding online functionality that wouldn't lend itself well to on-stage discussion, plus it allowed Nintendo to ensure it had most people's attention as everyone gets anxious waiting for E3.

Also, I am sick to death of the word 'experience' and E3 hasn't even started yet.

The MiiVerse stuff is cool, but he didn't show anything that differentiates it from other online infrastructures, despite claiming to. Heck, most of that stuff launched with the Vita, including sending ingame content and whatnot.

Still, it's good Nintendo is finally approaching online aspects seriously.

I'm really excited for what the Wii U will become, seems like Nintendo is taking the right steps from that video already.

Iwata said new 3ds news will be shared in other opportunities, does this means no 3ds at the conference? I'm confused with that quote.

The additions shown in the video are really innovative, now Nintendo also invented:

-Clickable sticks for the Gamepad
-DS3/360 like black controller
-Text messages also available in smartphones or handhelds
-Videochat
-Online plaza to meet the avatars of friends and other players
-Sharing user created content on-line to use in their games
-On-line service compatible with several gaming devices
-Web browser

I think Sony is going to copy for the PS3... oh wait, PS3 had it before!

Someone make screencaps of Mario. The art actually looked improved from the bland shit of the other NSMB games. That and it mentioned a baby Yoshi.

if this brought down gaf, i have no hopes for the Nintendo Conference. :)
but happy it's just a couple of minutes.

anyway, did they say that the Miiverse is not available at Wii U launch or is it just not available for other devices?

I don't think GAF is ready for E3.

Anyway, Pro controller looks cool, especially for SSB, of course. Online features look better than I expected, especially how you can access the Miiverse from PC, phones, and tablets. Also, I'm glad they showed the console in black, so we'll definitely have multiple color options at launch.

I'm shocked really, a lot of these online functions are either very uniquely Nintendo or they are heavily evolved concepts from Sony/MS. This is on top of the fact Iwata stated a little earlier this year that every retail game will be downloadable day-one among others.

Pretty kick ass, I'm blown-away and impressed! It's a lot more than I thought it would be.
