It was. Apple was only starting to pull away from the pack at that point and obviously Apple SoCs were unavailable. Was it though? Doesn't sound like Nintendo.
Hardware sucked, but I did like the gimmick behind it with the controller/tablet.I actually liked the games that were on WiiU. It was the hardware that sucked IMO. The games weren't the reason for WiiU's failure.
i can definitely see Kirby outselling half of PS5’s 2022 1st party exclusives by the end of its lifetime
You never know if they could. The Switch has been an unusually high selling monster for Nintendo franchises.Do Kirby games sell 10 million +?

That was a much different game though. This is going to be a full 3D adventure along the lines of Mario. I think it might be the first one.Sure, but we've already had a kirby game that's released on the switch. Didn't sell anywhere close to that

I honestly feel like I been conned by Nintnedo. Switch when it launched looked very appealing.
We had Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade 2, even Arms all back to back. Where they are AAA games with a large budget. Based on these games I thought everything will be AAA. A proper AAA Pokémon, Metroid Prime 4, even there AA games like Mario Party i thought would be feature packed, I thought Mario Golf will be a return of RPG mode etc.
Then reality kicked in. We haven't got a Metroid Prime 4 yet, still no new 3D Mario. Zelda sequel still not released. Pokémon looks lower budget than 15 year old JRPGs from PS2 era. And you can't even transfer all Pokémon. Mario Golf RPG mode was barebones. Mario Party had less content than the older games. No cool new AAA IPs since Arms. I felt like Nintendo came out with a initial good impression only to not followup with it. Instead we got more full priced Wii U ports, less feature packed games than previous entries. Long game draughts with indie games to make up for it that can be found cheaper on Steam. I'm so glad I'm getting a Steam Deck as I still love aying games portable. I'll still keep my Switch but it will be for exclusive games that rarely come out like the next Zelda.
I'm not quite sure how your came to the conclusion that more software sold being third party is the thing that defines competition in the console space. If that were the case then all of the advertisement from Sony and Microsoft would be for third party games and they wouldn't be investing billions into first party studios and content to stand out in the market. The markets these products sell into and empirical evidence for how they sell them proves that your assessment is incorrect. They track on the same charts. It is universally agreed upon by the experts in these markets that these companies are in competition. They're in competition. If Xbox and PS first party sales reach switch level they still won't be in competition. They're still competing over the third party sales. The Switch is not.

and I'm not sure why you feel the need to derail a hype thread to the point of getting nasty with people who don't buy your very narrow interpretation of how the market works. Can't you just let people be happy about what Nintendo is doing?
Not yet, at least none that I’ve seen. Apparently the entire OST for the game was shown at some point thoughHave we seen any footage of the Switch GOTG yet? It's out in a month.
We've seen a lot of Bamco games ported to the Switch after their release on other platforms. This seems to be especially true of Japanese focused games. That said, a few (like Ace Combat and Soul Caliber) were never ported, so it's definitely not a sure thing at all.
When it comes to non AAA Japanese games, Bandai Namco Studios led by Harara is a clear exception in terms of Switch support. They aren't good at getting Namco RPGs on their platform. Code Vein, Scarlet Nexus, and Tales of Arise are essentially anti-Switch exclusives as they appear on everything BUT Switch.
Actually it was claimed Switch was simply a secondary console and I said there is no evidence of that. It's impossible to prove a statement like that either way.Should be pretty easy if you read through the whole thing. I've explained my pov countless times already
I didn't derail anything. Marty seemed to believe that the console that is selling the most by default has to be the main platform. I rebutted him. I didn't instigate anything beyond that.
Not everything is a derailment. A hype thread doesn't stop discussions or debates. Try to be a little bit less senstivie
Actually it was claimed Switch was simply a secondary console and I said there is no evidence of that. It's impossible to prove a statement like that either way.
I just said there is more evidence that it's a primary platform considering there is more Switch hardware currently in sales circulation since it's release than any other console.
damn, I didn't want to come out and say this, but I'm glad someone did.but i just dont see anything on nintendo that i would be interested in as a 34 year old adult
My point was just that it had the highest mathematical probability of being so. It's something that's impossible to prove one way or the other unless we surveyed all console owners and asked what their main platform is. It seems it's just assumed that Switch is a secondary platform when there is nothing whatsoever to suggest this.I told you that a best selling console does not need to be a main platform. You said that mathematically it does, and I gave you a mathematical example of why that clearly isn''t true
Leave it at that

I best you i‘m 38 love nintendo and proudly sport a few nintendo tattoos they will age well. Choices such a kid at heart making up for lost youth.damn, I didn't want to come out and say this, but I'm glad someone did.
Less than half of all Switch owners are Xbox and Playstation owners so for over half of Switch gamers, the platform is their main. Also, there is no way to prove what dual owners consider their main and spend the most time on. We don't have those statistics. If we look at the top 10 game sales in the major regions, Nintendo games are usually a sizable chunk of the list. In territories like Japan Switch is pretty much everyone's main. The Switch being the only platform that is predominantly a first party machine suggests that it is used as a secondary console
It's not a ridiculous assumption. Unless you think the majority of gamers spend the majority of their time playing Nintendo games compared to third party games

Really stacked.
Where are those stastics from? And do they also include PC?
More Than 40% Of Switch Owners In The US Have Another Video Game System
According to NPD's PlayerPulse surveyswww.nintendolife.com
The US is the strongest AAA game sale market in the world, if anything including territories like Japan would weaken your case significantly.Okay, just a US survey, and doesn't include PC, so 60% using the switch as a main platform is already a flawed assumption right there
There are so many great games to play. I have a backlog of games for the first time since 2005. Think I played like 8-12 actual Wii games and the rest were VC games and it wasn't that impressive to me due to the motion controls. But the Nintendo Switch has at least several dozen games that I'd love to playReally stacked.
I’m interested in Dread but then it’s 2022 releases for me; Arceus and Splatoon 3 definitely. Maybe Triangle Strategy, BOTW 2 if it isn’t delayed.
I’d loved to have used the Switch as my primary and would have got the OLED if the joy cons weren’t a mess. Sadly I’ve not been able to use mine as a handheld.

Even if there was 40% Switch only console gamers (which is being extremely generous because AAA gaming is far bigger on consoles) that would still mean only 11% more gamers would need to consider the Switch their main for the majority of Switch gamers to have it as their main.
Why are there multiplat games on here
Because they're available for the SwitchWhy are there multiplat games on here
83 new no-games.
Dude you can't be positive about Nintendo, MS or pc at NeoGAF, this site is like a fucking cult for Sony. Sony can literally fuck their mom and they'll gladly yell "yes daddy"
It's an advertisement for sadist people with a switch "play the worse version of these games on your switch" or some shit. Why are there multiplat games on here
I guess it would be really dry if they were not there so choices , I just play them on other consoles i'm not bothered really about portable im. Graphics wh***It's an advertisement for sadist people with a switch "play the worse version of these games on your switch" or some shit.
Same, i don't care for the hybrid, just gimme something like the gamecube was, their last good classic console without ahy gimmicks and a solid ass hardware.I guess it would be really dry if they were not there so choices , I just play them on other consoles i'm not bothered really about portable im. I don't take it outside and I don't play in bed lol I need al the sleep I can get lol but at least the choice is there.
if Nintendo had stronger hardware which I do not understand why the insist in not doing so £3o9 for a switch graphics as apposed to £450 for ps5 graphics how to the work out that pricing against the spec .
if it had stronger hardware internals I'm sure more people would choose third party on Nintendo and maybe just maybe steal some customers from the other consoles. then maybe we could get some new ip exclusives on nintnedo it feels like bare minus to just get third party thats just me. I mean cloud only games , just make the harder more powerful I do wonder how much they wold charge for ps5 series x specs
We can take Take 2 as they represent a giant AAA third party.AAA gaming is massive on PC too. The hell are you talking about?
Again, just baseless assumptions.
