Capcom:
Capcom Wants Their Nintendo Switch Titles To Feel Different Than PS4/X1 Games

http://wccftech.com/capcom-wants-release-nintendo-switch-titles-will-feel-different-ps4x1-games/ :)

Now this pisses me off. By this they're basically saying "we're making more Japan exclusive games because fuck you". We literally need to beg for localizations yet tons of other Capcom Nintendo stuff is still Japan exclusive: Great Ace Attorney, Felyne Village, Ex.Troopers.

Either bring all of your games to Switch or don't bother at all Capcom. We don't want another Great Ace Attorney situation.

Convincing Rockstar will be hard, but if they managed to get Bethesda (which was the last publisher I was expecting to see on Switch) they may have drastically improved their 3rd party relationship.

If Rockstar was on the devs list I still wouldn't be excited. Last time they were a Nintendo partner was on Wii and all they gave us was an inferior version of Bully and This

The Capcom quote confuses me; multiplatform development is possible, but they want something different? I guess its admirable that Capcom wants smething else, but man, I just want REmake 2 on Switch :(

Serious question, as I don't own either console and likely didn't pay a huge amount of attention at the time:

Did the PS4 or XBONE get ports or versions of games when they launched? As in, games released months earlier on other systems (I guess PS3/360/PC). If so, what were they?

Capcoms quote may not make much sense to us now since we don't know everything about the Switch.

It's not like they're forced to use different control schemes unless that's what they're alluding too. Like they make the same game across all platforms, but maybe the Switch version has some extra 2-player mode since the Switch automatically comes with 2 controllers.

Idk I'm just spitballing 🤔

If the console will be successful then no worries, especially if we talk about RE games.

And Bully Scholarship Edition is inferior on Wii? No it isn't. It was awesome. Throwing punches with the wiimote/nunchuck was way too much fun.

I hope so. The RE games I always love so it would be neat to get to play them on one platform.

Probably just means their typical 'core' gamer stuff on PS4/XBO is mainly not the type of thing that the Nintendo crowd buys, that's all. Which is a fair point.

What are the chances we'll see the following third party titles in launch window?

Deus Ex MD
South Park TFBW
Dragon Quest Builders
Yooka Laylee
Persona 5
Doom

No way Square ports DQ Builders to Switch. Maybe sequel but not in 2017.

I'm gonna say Doom here. They have Bethesda's support and it only means good things. South Park is another candidate but Ubisoft would rather port bigger stuff like Ghost Recon Wildlands or Steep. Persona 5 probably will have a "Gold" version for Switch in 2018.

Considering that south park uses that autodesk engine, I'm going to say not happening for that one.

Yooka laylee - Almost definitely

I wouldn't read it that way. Capcom is making a lot of exclusives (or timed exclusives). SF5, Resi 5 VR, Rising Dead, Monster Hunter etc. It's just their way of doing things. And for me their 3DS exclusives are more worth than their western styled games. They should bring all of them over, but not stop making them.

Deus Ex MD- maybe WiiU did get Deus Ex HR, and Square will prob want some stuff from Eidos on the system
South Park TFBW - doubt it, I think other UBisoft games will come tho, the first one didnt come to WiiU when it could have
Dragon Quest Builders - Yes
Yooka Laylee - Yes
Persona 5 - Yes
Doom - Maybe Bethesida has something coming maybe more then just Skyrim

If Nintendo paid for it it will be exclusive. If not then not.

I am wondering what Nintendo offered Ubisoft for their support. Being buddies is all fine and well but in business, politics play a huge role. I could really see Ubisoft asking for something in return for exclusives and ports and more than just Nintendo's marketing power.

For example I could see Nintendo characters in the Rabbids TV show, or more cross-promotion opportunities.
The thing is, IF Nintendo is paying for it, do you think they'd be ok with the creator announcing it on his instagram before the Switch was officially revealed?

FFS, just treat it like the others and give us the same games.

Reminds me when they gave us the RE Chronicle games on Wii instead of Resident Evil 5 and 6.

I don't want a totally different experience, just gimme a proper RE!

Do you not already own a PS4 or PC or XB1. I'd rather take a unique fame over the same thing.

I don't really care what they bring over, honestly. I just hope we don't get a shit-ton of "test" games like they did on the Wii. That never really amounted to anything even if the game did well. Just port the games over and market them well. That's all I ask.

No ones saying not to make unique games, but the way Nintendo is marketing this thing, it would be a huge advantage to deliver a system that has the ability to play big multiplat titles on the go.

Agree, the RE Chronicles games were awesome and a treat for any RE fan.

tbh i dont expect totally unique games like the DS/Wii/3DS support Capcom gave, but something much more safe and cheap, a few downports with a few spin offs here and there.

sad but realistic, that way anything more we can be pleasently surprised

The Switch is not that bud, not that close to Xbox ONE to make ports super easy, it will be powerful but still a portable, expect ports only if they make sense

I could see Capcom releasing Monster Hunter 5, in addition to spinoffs and a SF5 port on Switch. As for RE, I could've seen RE7 and/or REmake 2 released on Switch as well. However, based on their recent comments I wonder if they will give PS4 the mainline RE and MH titles and some spinoffs such as the MHX series while they give Switch the MHP series, MHX series and RE revelations.

I don't think SFV is leaving Playstation/PC.
RE7 I could see happen, wasn't it registered as a trademark including cartridges?
I do wonder if Nintendo should be concerned about losing the mainline MH series. Would be a pretty big blow to their japanese market, though even the original 4chan rumor says it'll get Portable 5th so maybe it wouldn't be that big of a loss.
Could be cool if they pulled a DQXI releasing both near each other.

Yeah, test games are pointless because the tests never end. Passing and failing result in the same treatment no matter what the results are.

Capcom Fighting Jam 2 using the same engine it is then!
It's UE4 so probably.
I do see Capcom trying some spin offs, maybe something like SF x RARE (MS published) or Nintendo v Capcom in order to make a new game since they promised no "Super" version of SFV nor ports to other platforms.

Yooka Laylee and DQ builders are pretty much a guarantee. Can't see any of the rest as nice as portable versions of all of them would be.
