Nintendo Switch Partners - Bethesda, Atlus, Capcom, EA, Epic, Unity, more

It's on Nintendo to make sure that all ports are up to snuff and that the online infrastructure facilitates what these games are trying to do.

You are right but even the single player experiences didn't sell on Wii U. The games that didn't need online features at all.

Code Masters - we're finally getting a proper racing sim on a nintendo after a loong pause. Last nitendo with a sim was the cube.

FIFA is coming so Madden 18 will prob happen, March 2017 is too late for Madden 17

Also nice to see NBA 2K on it, being able to play and get get VC on the go can be big

Question I asked on Twitter, is there info about what these partners are doing yet? Does being a partner mean they're developing new games for the system (either exclusive or alongside X1/PS4/PC versions) or could this just be a ton of ports?

So what are the major omissions here?

CD Projekt Red?

Support was non existant since before it came out. Some took advantage of trickle down advertising of a new system for quick bucks from ports, which didn't exactly pan out either.
CDPR doesn't even have anything besides Cyberpunk and that won't be for a long time.

Just mean companies working on the system.

The next countdown: The reveal of Monster Hunter 5 on NX.

Capcom will have to change the assests for once now

This is system is like made for MonHun though, being a console and portable.

And I maybe we will finally see racing sims again with Codemasters on a Nintendo console

on a side note, did anyone else noticed the lag on the portable Zelda footage? I wonder how the dock will change the system, considering the size I think it HAS an impact.

Can see this list shrinking fast, after the first batch of games sell below expectations.

It should at least have a couple of cool ports like Skyrim though.

*googles from software*

YES!

I don't see how anyone looks at Skyrim as some indicator that the third parties will support this device. I'll believe it when I see it.

Its because Bethesda has not ever put anything worth while on Nintendo hardware, the fact that they are putting Skyrim on it is a big deal.

It means the hardware is good, Bethesda bad mouth WiiU hardware in the past, and they have experience with the hardware so theirs a chance more games will come

A remaster of a 5 year old title means it's good?

Not saying it is, but Skyrim isn't the great example to use.

The remaster is coming to PS4/xbox one too, so I guess thats bad too right

But my point is Bethesda is putting forth the effort is why it means its good

These pre-launch "developers on board" images are always present with every single console announcement. Will they stick to it though? Keep supporting? Even Vita and Wii U had a board like that. Lets not kid ourselves.

Still, wish all the luck to Nintendo.

It's just wishful thinking, the WiiU was the same story with that dev list.

Good support might happen but Nintendo's track record is anything but encouraging when it comes to 3rd parties.

Many of the posts in this thread have me questioning a lot of you as games enthusiasts.

Wii U = limited to no Western 3rd party support because of the lack of UE4

Switch = robust software lineup from Japanese and Western 3rd party due to UE4

So if these partners are continuing support are we finally going to see the age of PS3/4 or Xbox360/1 + Nintendo Console go away? I'd have to imagine some people would be cool getting multiplat + nintendo games all on one system instead of having to go across multiple platforms.

I don't normally post here but just wanted to say I'm pretty happy to see so much 3rd party support pledged for the Switch.

Not true. Star Trek: Conquest is amazing. I still play it on my Wii.

Great news if most of these support the Nintendo Switch. I love Nintendo 1st part titles for the Wii U, but they were sorely lacking in 3rd parties.

Honestly, nintendo's best bet is to be that +1. I'd even argue Nintendo should think about marketing that way. You'll have a hard time swaying a hardline Xbox or PS4 owner that the Switch should be their only console, but it might be a lot easier to convince them that they're the best supporting console versus getting mostly the same experience on their direct rival's system.

FROM SOFTWARE is all I needed to see. I'm there. I liked how one of the first games shown off was Skyrim Remastered, that was nice. This lineup of publishers looks promising, I'm excited to see what they come up with for this.
