Nintendo Switch Partners - Bethesda, Atlus, Capcom, EA, Epic, Unity, more

I'm still really curious what version of DQ XI Square Enix will be porting to Switch. The PS4 version seems much more likely now, but it seems like a waste to make the 3DS version and leave it exclusive to a handheld that's already on it's dying legs. It'd be cool if they somehow made both versions available on Switch. There are people that prefer one over the other.

Come to think of it they'll probably port the 3DS version to mobile, so there's that I guess.

Hey SEGA and M2...

(please do this!)

Quick someone tweet this to M2, I don't have a twitter account, but I want them to have this in their minds if they don't already :)

If there's one thing I've learned about Nintendo, it's to not hold my breath for satisfying third party support. I buy Nintendo hardware for Nintendo games, and anything else I consider a bonus.

This is so much more impressive than Wii U's list of 2012 partners it defies belief.

Not to mention that this 3 min tease, unforthcoming as it is, has been received ten times better than any of Wii U's stumbling reveals.

Nintendo have gone away and had a long, hard think about where they went wrong with their last console and from this early stage it does seem like they're playing their hand very well.

They're basically making 2 different games. Which is just, woah.

This year Madden was "free" on EA Access by late February, so they would have to hit the right pricepoint on the Switch version to get decent sales, or do something where you get a free update to Madden 18.

Its EA we are talking about here, they released Mass Effect Trilogy on PS3/360 the same time as Mass effect 3 WiiU on for $59

If they put Madden 17 on Switch, you better believe it will be $59 and then they will complain about sales, even tho the game will be free on EA access on Xbox one

If I'm Nintendo, I tell them not to do anything until the new versions release.

Sad not seeing psyonix or blizzard, Rocket League and Overwatch are games you just need to have in you console at this point, like call of duty , minecraft, madden or fifa.

I wonder if Blizzard could fall under Activision, and Psyonix is a smaller dev, so its still possible for Rocket league to come at some point

If I'm Nintendo, I tell them not to do anything until the new versions release.

FIFA is coming so we will see what EA does with Madden at the full reveal

From Software, give me Metal Wolf Chaos 2 on the Switch.

Platinum Games, give me Vanquish 2 on the Switch.

Thanks. :)

Nintendo said before the WiiU release that they had loads of third parties lined up, it didn't go well, I am going to wait and see this time.

From Software? NIIIIICE.

Master Sword easter egg in Dark Souls Trilogy Collection.

True, but unlike Wii U, the Switch will still have a few more years of graphical parity at least (from the looks of it, no concrete specs yet), which should help for multiplatform games. Wii U was old 1 year after launch.

I'm really curious as to what the EA support would be. Battlefield 1 and Mass Effect Andromeda as launch games would be pretty sweet.

This literally means nothing. So many 3rd party devs were on board with the Wii U until they suddenly weren't. I hope it pans out differently but we don't know that for sure

This is only because the N includes their handheld support. The only surprise there is FROM from what I see.

you're absolutely right.
Yet this is at least an encouraging start. I didn't expect so much names. Now let's Watch their moves.

Could be a port of the Tokyo game but yeah maybe Persona 5.

But seriously, I would prefer play P5 in Switch that in PS3/PS4. Sadly I am a Trails fan, so get a PS3 it's more useful to me thanks to Trails of Cold Steel.

Come on Nihon Falcom, support the NX, after all we don't know how much will long the Vita :)

The difference here is that the publishers pledging support for the WiiU were largely ones that were already on board with the Wii and were just continuing their support (and I use that loosely with some of them) that was already present.

Here we have a publisher who explicitly refused to support the WiiU (and openly talked about said lack of support!) and barely even bothered with the Wii turning around and supporting it with something.

Sure, Skyrim is a 5 year old game. But it's also one that they are still playing up again because it's getting a high profile port to the other major consoles. And, sure, Skyrim Switch could fail, Bethesda bails, and the cycle continues again, but them being around at all is a pretty big sign that Nintendo is doing something different behind the scenes.

seeing bethesda, 2k (hopefully r*?) and from software on that list makes me hypeddd.

especially from software, like, what are they planning? ports would be disappointing if i'm being honest, but i do hope future souls games that'll release on ps4/xbo will now also release on the nx.

I think Atlus will port Tokyo Mirrage Sessions.

I'm hoping so. There was a handful of Wii U games and I wanted to pick one up to play them but everytime I go to I think i'm paying full damn price for a dead console and still going to get a NX in a couple months. I finally said fuck it and i'm just hoping they port the few games I wanted to play to it, like TMS and wishful thinking Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101. Would be nice if they just made the digital versions BC, I could live with that.

The good thing about ports on this system is that it makes a case for people buying them preferably on the Switch because of the portability element.

Here's hoping we might get Persona 5 on the Switch. Prefer my JRPGs portable.

I hope they announce a Direct with first- and third-party games soon.

I think seeing no NX announcement for RDR2 kills this.

Are these just gonna be names or is Nintendo going to do its part make sure the Switch has long term competitive support beyond already released ports?

Getting Bethesda period says a lot about how they have to have changed things up behind the scenes.

Things could easily change if the Switch doesn't take off though, sure.

that doesn't say much though. not that i expect rdr2 to hit the nx to begin with, but maybe they didn't want to spoil it before the actual nx reveal

i'm gonna keep calling it nx. sounds nicer.

But they released a trailer an hour after the Switch reveal, where it was confirmed for PS4/One only.

Nah, I imagine if it was gonna be on the Switch they would have said something. Rockstar doesn't care if they said something, they are the biggest developers.

I mean we already have several games hinted and flat out stated were coming to the NX before this with DQ11 and 10, Sonic Gen 2, hinted FF14.

From Software has me excited, but I'm gonna need to see the games. A port of Dark Souls 1 and/or 2? Cool, but if they give me Dark Souls 3 and promise future games as well? I'm in 10000% for Switch right away. Being able to play those on top of Zelda and Mario would make it a must have

From is developing a new souls like Metroid. :D

It doesn't say "Only on PlayStation" on the P5 retail box, so it's possible that it will show up on the Switch.
