are people using guns or bows mostly?

Tempted to go with guns on my run as if you plough points into skill it raises both guns AND dual katanas (if I go that route with dual katanas too)
I like guns as the bullets are hitscan I think, plus my gun does way more damage than my bow. Although arrows are easier to come across.

I use then mostly to stun an enemy so that I can run in and do a grapple move for extra damage before the fight begins.

Why does it suck you get it early? :P

You need to kill two specific revenants for this set it seems.

I got a couple pieces from player revenants though.

Quoting reddit for some further clarification on how to get this armor set:

What armor set? I'm interested and I don't know the name of the set.

Is there a shortcut to the second boss or is that pretty much the runway?

There's a "hidden" shrine to find which unlocks a ladder down to the bottom floor to give you a quick run to the boss.

Tip:
look to drop down to a ledge from high up to where there is a "cloud" of the "stuff" that spawns a hard enemy. Forgot the correct name for what I mean lol.

Thanks mate. Forgive my ignorance - do you have to unlock the grapple move?

Hm, I seem to have two options, one is a ladder that lead to a Kodama, and the other one is the way down with all the demons, which I had to use for the boss. hm.

You have to sprint through the bottom floor regardless. The shrine with the ladder down just gives quicker access than the shrine before it.

When do I get to the hub? This first mission is looong. I've gotten lost a bunch but now I'm running around on rooftops and am falling down a bunch through trap holes..

If you are already on the rooftops, you are pretty close.
Some pathways are blocked by fire that needs to be extinguished, some ladders need to be kicked down. You need to head in the direction of the water (two tall watchtowers)
It's a pretty confusing map, just climb on that big watchtower and look at the pathes between roofs.

Are there any stats I should not invest points into? as in, for example, should I stop investing in spirit once I reach 12 spirit?

I've been putting points into Body for my spear, heart for my katana and some into stamina and strength.

I have 11 spirit right now.

I kinda like sporting medium armor to keep my mobility high.

Just finished the tutorial and i'm already glad i picked this up, this is ace. Few questions though..

Do you lose anything if you die?
Is it worth picking up multiples of equipment you already have? Even if it's worse?
What are the best stats for a lighter/fast character?

When you first get to the big long ledge overseeing the bottom of the cave go right, look to your left after that first archway there is a long secondary path you can drop down to. If you reached the small entrance with the bats you went too far

You'll lose all the Amrita you got on you. But that's it. All the items will still be in your inventory. That being said, if you have a big amount of Amrita on you it might be wise to head back to a shrine and level up. But that risk/reward scenario is part of the fun, don't sweat it. + You can pick up your dropped Amrita if you manage to get back to that spot with your next life.

You should pick up whatever you find, since
you can dissassemble, sell or trade in for Amrita later on.

Before I stopped for the night, I checked the warehouse and saw at least 30 pieces of gear from the tower. I kept a set of each, but then realized their probably isn't much you can do with that stuff. I do like the Rakusha and bastard sword, but they're already underpowered.

My stats are like 10 each except magic and ninjitsu, I like to use swords, dual swords, and axes, hopefully doesn't make my character weak.

I'm wearing any armor that has jigher defense than mine, my weight is yellow always.

You lose the Amrita (experience) but you can pick it up if you managed to get your spirit animal back.

Yes, you can sell them, exchange them or dismantle them.

No idea.

Just to make sure we're on the same wavelength, by 2nd boss you mean the
bat woman thing
? lol.

Yes.

I will try to not miss that, thanks.

Just beat
Succubi bat boss
this morning. The fight is terrible until its not. Basically just never ever get hit...Glad that one is done. Also I'm surprised but pleased how quickly the difficulty jumped.

Ended on 63 tonight.

The last boss for the night just got wrecked, no damage and dead in a minute flat, she looked impressive but died quick, hell I have more trouble with tengu's then bosses at the moment.

i just beat
joro-gumo
at the first try.
that fight was really easy compared to some earlier bosses.
still using an axe as my main weapon, love it!

About to start my playthrough in a few hours and I have a question: for a character with light armor focused on speed and sword play, which attributes would be best to level up?
Thanks.

Yes.

I will try to not miss that, thanks.

Yeah, that is the correct direction. Keep your eyes open on your left as you start going down the ledge. You'll see one of those "force fields" that the big monsters spawn out of and behind it is another shrine. You have to drop from the top ledge onto a ledge below.

Yeah that fight is a pretty big difficutly spike. The game is easier than Souls up to that point.

Thanks dude. Yeah I kicked down one ladder so far. I'll get through it tonight, it's just confusing to me because of my non-existant sense of location lol.

You're going to, for the most part, fairly evenly apply your stats to start with. By the time you should start min/maxing you'll have figured it out. I actually recommend putting your first 5-6 levels into spirit to unlock the very nice passive abilities of your living weapon.

In the level up screen it tells you what attributes are aligned with which weapons so it's not as obtuse as DS or bloodborne.

Edit: i specked into magic and spirit first and this was the result of my first boss fight: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jNHLcBYqHlc&feature=youtu.be

Nerf it to the ground!

I guess with a Diablo-esque loot system and a ton of skill trees it was only a matter of time before OP builds galore.

I mean the Tachibana ohk parry was a good indication, right? We should appreciate the broken builds as long as possible. because they get (hopeully) nerfed once the pvp patch drops :p

Looks like Muneshige has a really small chance of dropping his Smithing Text for his unique katana so now I can craft it.

I wonder if all bosses have some sort of unique drop list.

I actually have the same problems.
But once you are
on top of that watchtower, you can kinda see where to go.
But whenever I fell down a roof, I got lost again. Just be methodical and kill everybody you see first. Then you'll have time to find your way without getting bothered.
