Close Combat Damage +15% IS like getting an A Damage bonus, so maybe I'm good keeping it like this?

You have to wait for the ki gauge to start charging again before you hit the evade button (X). If you don't, you'll continue to burn more ki from evading. How much of the ki you want returned is up to you. If you wait for the recharge gauge to hit its allowed maximum amount before you evade, you'll get a perfect ki pulse that will dispel any nearby yokai realm clouds the yokai may have made.
I had to figure that out myself. Just watch for the last second those blue orbs orbiting William are about to disappear, then immediately hit X.

On what items can I get the kodama finder? I struggle to find them in the second region.
They work all the time. I joined Furuta because I wanted more Luck for loot but I've noticed that most people are in toyotomi (+10% gold and amrita). If you look at current rankings, Toyotomi is first with something like double the points of 2nd ranked clan
Edit: Clans are divided into either blue or red and every week you can get bonus glory based on whether blue or red had the most points.
I never hunt Kodama. I can stock like 11 Elixers without any just because of Ninjutsu (I think the normal cap is 8 right?) ~~ They only help give you a minimum when you die.

It wasn't that bad until the boss the first time I played through, but i played one of the sub missions there WOAT status, I fell into the river 20 million times, revenants out the wazoo, it was horrible

I'd say this is a Diablo with actually engaging gameplay. The Dark Souls comparisons might work for the first portion of this game, but i'm long past that sentiment. Gear and stats are everything. Getting good drops, roll the good perks. Using the right combination of skills.
Min maxing combined with such perfectly fine tuned gameplay... this is a GOTG contender. I don't know if Team Ninja is up for it, but they could do seasonal updates expanding this shit to oblivion. ...I should buy that season pass.

Fwiw if you join a red clan youll have no shortage of blue revenants, which translates into 2x glory.

50 times. It honestly seems like an easier fight than previous bosses but that doesn't really mean anything I guess.
Edit: Looked up boss elemental weaknesses. Been using a talisman he resists, so I'll try with the correct one next time.

I can't beat
and I'm going on 10 tries, have summoned for the last 2...
I've tried high stance axe, high stance single sword, mid stance axe/sword, low stance sword...
I'm using the anti-paralysis pills and the weakness Onmyo magic.

So I'm about to face the bat lady but I only have 5 elixirs after praying at a shrine (and finding all but maybe one of the kodama). In the first mission I would restock to 8 at each shrine. Is this the max amount I can restock to right now without getting the extra from ninjitsu?

Any tips for stances/flow for this fight? I'm Axe/Sword
You gotta stay out of her normal combo range and dash in to punish. her paralysis, you should be able to dodge each time. If she flys, Shuriken is good for massive Ki damage.
Better to stick to Low/Mid stance and beat her by attrition.

The spider place and its boss almost felt like a bit of a breather stage, the only instance so far where I strolled into the boss room and won on the first try.
Though this disappointed me, but that's just because before entering the boss room I was hunting a nearby Kodama and thus never got to pick it up.
I've just obtained the rule of cool Spear ability where after a low stance combo you can somersault over the enemy and even come down with an aerial strike mid jump, so rad.
Hah, this is so similar to my experience with that stage.
I actually really liked it sans boss, then I did the sub mission where it turns into Oni Town with the enemy rush finale and gosh darn that was a pain.
Oddly despite basically never falling off the stage in the main mission (except during the boss, curse that hole in the corner) I ended up botching straight off the edge multiple times in the sub mission.
Still like the stage mind you.

Charms have them. There's also a special kodama helm you get as a sub mission reward but that's not till area 3 or 4. I had like 5+ charms with it by then.
