Nioh |OT| Stamina is Ki

How does this game compare to Bloodborne in terms of difficulty? And as a Ninja Gaiden fan, am I going to like it?

Your first game like this is always the hardest one.

Nioh is faster, and some bosses may feel like they hit you harder. But on the other hand if you build your character properly then you can make yourself very OP which is harder to do in BB.

Maybe this is an stupid question, but is there any way to perform a Ki Flux (and thus changing stance) while dodging? Or you are only allowed to perform Ki Pulse when dodging?

I could use a bit of help here.. Just did a side mission, said mission complete, and the glowy orb thing to leave is on the ceiling, not the floor so I can't reach it. Should I just start over?

As a total noob in Action games I feel like this game is easier because it has more RPG mechanics. You can farm gear and Skill points which makes it a little easier. The bosses are still fucking hard for me.

It starts out harder, but difficulty drops off a cliff and gets even easier than Demon's and Dark 1. Don't expect anything as hard as The Old Hunters or even Nameless King.

This doesn't make any sense to me lol. Obviously difficulty is subjective but almost every boss so far has been harder than anything in Old Hunter or Nameless King to me.

That's what I am using as well. I tried the axe but it was too slow for me. Haven't mess around with the other weapons tho..

Already thinking about buying the season pass. However I haven't even play ds3 dlc and I bought the season pass for that last spring..

I haven't even played the ds3 DLC ... I got burnt out on the platinum grind and I didn't want to buy after I saw the size of the SP in the first DLC.

I bought the digital delux version of Nioh after playing all three Betas.

There are legit living weappn/spirit builds, my spirit level is 25 and it takes ~4-5 human enemies and ~2-3 Yokai to refill the bar, no cheese necessary.

I'm finally beginning to get a hang on the systems, after about 9 hours played. My "build" (only level 30 so can't really call it a build yet) is super unspecified and spread out because I want to try everything. So far I'm finding the Swords and Kusarigamas most fun/effective. And ninjutsu stuffs are really fun, both shurikens, buffs and passive abilitues there look good. So I'm probably gonna respec soon now that I know what I want to do. Have yet to try magic, but I've heard it's easy to become OP so that's for another time.

If I was to respec, what would you guys put Spirit at for someone not into the stat generally? Just enough to get the bonuses from Spirit animal? The Daiba-Washi is the go to for a Ninja/Sword/Kusarigama/A agility build I assume? I only have three to choose from so far but that looks like the best one atm.

Not only is it subjective but you have people who forget how hard those bosses in other games actually are. It's easy to look back on Maneater or Flamelurker for example, and consider they were easy because they were eventually beaten.

In any case, people saying these games are easy are mostly taking the piss, they are far from easy for 99% of the population of gamers and generally people saying its easy are either trolling, winding people up, or exceptionally skilled with no realistic idea of how ludicrous it is to call them easy.

I dunno why, but increasing Heart(75) is no longer better for my Raikiri than Skill anymore... I think I hit a softcap for damage scaling and yet I don't know where. That sucks.

I'm here, but whatever you sent me doesn't work

Oh it's probably the porn screwing up the internet, 1 sec.

Is there a way to change the weapon bonus choices you pick at the start of the game? I picked sword and axe, didn't know it mattered.

Each stat should be at least 10 anyway, don't worry

edit, so party chat isn't working for me. Zack, look for friends in the Yokai realm, I'll do the same. No pass

I'd rather not use extraction lol, living weapon every few enemies is fine and does not break the game.

Not talking about extraction, but double A spirits can keep the meter full for huge lengths of a stage as long as you dont get hit. And when it drops you get it back in 2-3 kills

The only boss I've died to more than once was the second, that was when the game's difficulty peaked IMO (10+ deaths to her actually).

Is this some universally accepted thing? Why would I raise strength/magic if I don't intend to use them?

I assume that's
Sazuka
?

I've been avoiding him, I mainly used the paired raiken and the water dragon thing,
Sazuka
seems too OP to me.

I hope we get to unlock the guardian spirit from the intro, water is my favorite element so far.

Because that Strength stat is going to be better than your Skill stat for the same things on its way to 10 and your Skill is like 30 or something

Also, even if you don't plan on using Magic, you should have at least 15 Dex or 15 Magic if only for some passive abilities.

I keep getting matched with random people (selected way of the strong)

You change the conditions to friends and hit search for a friend

(in Yokai Realm)

I don't think the LW builds are illegal (lol). Because you can break the game with Ninjutsu/Onmyo builds too. Cast Sloth and weaker defense. Hit for massive damage in the back.

Man, the
double
bosses post game were the best.
Really exhilarating with a faster boss (Tachibana and nobunaga) and a slower boss (tadakatsu and Yuki Onna) to make up for weaknesses.
Reminded me a lot of fighting O+S for the first time. The only missions I have left now are the dojo ones. I've read conflicting things. You need 500k proficiency, that's going to take some time for the weapons I haven't used. What's the best way to get that up?
