Is there a list of locations for the Kagatuchi's Magatamas that you use to upgrade the blacksmith? It looks like there should be five of them. I'd like to have them all before moving on to NG+.

I guess I should've known that Twilight missions would have you
face previous bosses, just harder.
. Felt good destroying him with ease the second time

I haven't been able to play but maybe a couple hours.. I can pretty easily get past the first few encounters, but I went up to a hut and ambushed by 3 dudes... died a couple times to them, then when I finally got past them I went into the house and some big thing appeared from the smoke and whipped my ass... :( I just suck at these games, but I like the feel of the combat a lot.

Eventually yeah. In Japan, they apologised for lack of stock and offered a 10% digital discount on PSN until stores are restocked, so I'm sure they're working on it.

You figure after how popular the alpha and beta were that they would have shipped plenty of stock. I really don't understand how stock was so far below demand in literally every single region in which the game was released. Its downright bizarre.

Okay good, thanks.

I'm not getting the digital version and don't want to buy a pre-owned copy from GameStop (not that I can find one of those near me, anyway).

First platinum trophy this year! :D

Amazing game, already a strong goty contender alongside Yakuza 0 for me. And soon Nier Automata drops and after that Persona, this year is SICK.

I don't think Sony are very good at publishing Japanese games but they probably looked at pre-order numbers and fulfilled that with no real faith in the title actually selling well beyond that so I can't blame them too much, but still, they're pretty bad at publishing Japanese games.

Preorder numbers were apparently quite low.

I don't think it was the beta which sold people on the game, but rather the very high review scores which came 1 week before the game released.

Can't watch the video right now due to potential spoilers so sorry if it's explained in that already.

I'm a big fan of using Heaven Flash but don't really put that much thought into it...is the Ki damage higher than a regular low attack hit if you know?

I just swapped it out for that 'instantly at their back' move that you unlock after Heaven Flash and it's cool as fuck but losing Heaven Flash is brutal haha.

Yeah, there are minor spoilers since it's a Dojo boss. But yes, the first part of Heaven's Flash (when you kick or something before jumping up) does comparable Ki damage to a regular kick, though not as much. Low attacks don't really do Ki damage as quick hits, so Heaven's Flash is important to get HP damage and Ki damage at the same time.

If you learn to Sheath cancel, there's no benefit to the jumping over ability.

What is your # of deaths and playtime up to at this point?

I'll let you know when Nioh redownloads ;( might take like half a day

where did Izuna go ? it's really rare not seeing him here

I went to sleep ;/

Can i keep soul matching the same item over and over again as i get other higher level gear?

No, you can't. After 1 Soul Match the price becomes insane.

You should be forging to get equipment to match your level or pick up something new. Generally Revs will drop the best equipment.

They literally had high beta and alpha population numbers to indicate demand regardless of whatever the preorder numbers were. It's not just bad to undership as much as they seem to have done its downright incompetent and you're right it is a pattern for them with Japanese games they publish in the west and no matter how many times it happens they keep doing it. I don't understand why they don't learn from past mistakes and change the way they calculate their initial print runs of these sorts of games. Especially when there are very strong indicators of high demand.

At the end of the day its not them but the actual developers of these games that suffer from lost sales with these titles not being available for purchase and that is just unacceptable imo. If we want more of these Japanese games to release in the west Sony needs to let us show our support for them which is hard to do when they aren't providing us with enough stock to at least come close to the actual demand.

At least they published this one in the west. They owned the Demon's Souls IP but didn't even bother publishing it here. They never place any faith in Japanese games not named Gran Turismo.

Why put money into these projects if they're not going to give them a chance at retail?

Defiled Castle question
I just beat Okatsu but I only fought Honda once before travel amulet'ing out because I wanted to get some more dung to open that door and then of course found her while exploring upstairs. Can I travel amulet out of this boss room and then go fight Honda or am I forced to exit the mission?

edit: I just tried to travel out of the room and it wouldn't let me. guess I gotta replay the mission to fight him now.....sigh.

Let's be fair, high population for a free demo isn't really a good indication especially when a good number of the response is still "This game is bullshit everything is cheap and unfair!" And "lol Souls clone!".

I wouldn't fault them for playing it safe.

What about digital? The Alpha, Beta and Last Chance Trial didn't have a physical release. I wouldn't be surprised if the digital sales are higher here than the disc sales.

Hot damn, you've already played and beaten Yakuza 0 and platinumed this?! That's awesome! *Stares at his backlog, which is mocking him*

Hmmm just unlocked clans. Any tips on which one to join? Saw the wiki about what perks there are...

Same for me. There seems to be so many! I'm leaning towards Toyotomi or Furuta. Any tips?

congrats. agreed.

Thanks, definitely one of the most satisfying platinum trophies I've achieved. Now I can finally test some co-op and get that new build I've been thinking about.

I'm new to the PS4 and I thought I was closing the game...

Close application - GOOD
Delete - BAD

;)

I have a strict 'gaming rule', never buy another game until I finished the one I'm currently playing, so far it's working.

a shit-ton of free time is also helpful lol

Just beat Yuki-Onna. That was my favourite boss so far. It got me into a rhythm and I loved it. Also that's the first time I've died a lot in this because I wasn't good enough, before this it was just stupid deaths. This was probably the first actual hard boss for me.

Though while I'm playing, I wish bosses had unique music tracks. And speaking of music, there's a track that starts to play when you're in the last part of the mission, I rather like that.

Holy balls I had forgotten about that sense of dread you feel exploring new areas in games like this. I'm on the first mission after the opening tower. Some of these enemies can own your ass if you screw up even a bit.

I could use some advice if anyone is willing. I started picking the Kitana and Spear, but I've been using dual swords and liking it for the speed. I've been putting points into body, heart and skill. I've just reached,
the shrine next to the door that leads to a ship on the beach.
What should I be dedicating points to?

Thanks!

I can tell skeleton's about to be a POS. I literally don't even know what to do against it.
I've destroyed both feet and then attack head, but now what? I'm locked on to its stomach but thats 50 feet in the air, how am I supposed to hit that?

he will swing his hands at you if you go up a level, after which the legs will come back

OK, think it's time to put the game down for a bit. It's so damn long lol
60 hours and did a couple missions in region 4, feeling super burnt out. 60 fun fucking hours though, hope I finish the game someday.

Body heart and skill is fine, but I would also suggest spirit to unlock the passives for your Guardian spirit.

And maybe Strength if you want to wear medium armor. If not you can wear light armor with just the body and skill stat
