Man these switches on the ground that stun lock you until death are really f*cking stupid.

I actually can't find my grave now, I died miles away from the shrine.

I'm pretty sure that my stats are all messed up. With the main stat of heart (40-ish), I have everything at 10 or above except dexterity and magic. I guess it's time to finally re-spec.

Just got to the level where you fall in the water all the time. I'm falling in the water all the time. This kind of sucks. I understand what I'm trying to do, but this is not very good level design.

Yup, I hated that level too. Died so many times by fallen in or got pushed into the water.

It was such a huge relief when I finally finished it. Thankfully the boss was quite easy.

Dont fight more than 1 enemy at a time. And pull them to a favorable area.

If you're talking about the arrow traps then you can block them after the first hit. It's not a stunlock. Also, use a summoner candle to get your shit back.

I feel like I've done a ton of missions but I'm only level 74 heading into the fifth region. How did y'all level up, any grinding of the same missions? I'd like to feel appropriately scaled for the challenges ahead!

I mean... I'm not a fan of it either but it still seems fair. I can see the holes if I pay attention. Just hard to not fall in when I'm trying to avoid attacks too.

Stop fighting in bad places, pull them to more favorable places. And check all waters throughoutly before crossing.

This is a stage that rewards patiences and caution.

I don't know how "gud" I am but I'm level 74 and have been anywhere from 20 to 30+ levels under for the missions in this area and haven't had much trouble. Just try one or two and see how you fair before deciding you want to grind or something.

Yuki sl1/no damage and all dat jazz
https://youtu.be/JcuTYkkTm34

Gotta say only having ki pulse dodge (like alpha) makes this game so much more fun!
Level 1 not really making any difference to me personally the 50 extra ki i'm used to is the only major change.
Also J
orogumo
was actually a good boss fight on sl1, well goodish, well alot better than on a normal playthrough xD

30 hours in goddamn. That's like 5 hours a day cause I just started it Saturday.

Only just unlocked region 3 haha. Still got another 2 side missions before I finish up region 2.

The impressions from people completed the game that it's unavoidable to be underleveled for the later missions but if your gear in up to standard you'll be fine

Is the suggested level shown actually based on item level of your gear, and not character level? It seems like when I upgraded my gear, the number of grave icons went down, as if that's the actually difficulty rating.

Levels really dont matter much outside of HP, even then the majority of deaths are gonna be one shots anyway.
get dis rpg nonsense out of action games plz

Coop netted me lots of amrita. I'm in region 3 and am already level 69.

So I just unlocked Sloth III after beating the related dojo mission. I haven't used it yet, but is it significantly more powerful than the basic version?

what's the trick to fighting
ume bozu
? I just keep dodging and slashing at his tentacles until he finally whittles my hp down or gets me with the k.o. the 3 fires just give me random loot

Sloth II and III just give you the option to get more casts per shrine visit. They do not actually alter the power of the spell. Allocate Sloth I, II and III and you get 6 casts. All magic and Ninjutsu that you can actually prepare works the same.

The "random loot" is actually the fires killing the mobs that would otherwise come to the bosses aid. As for the boss, that is literally all you need to do, beside dodging better so as not to lose that much HP. Bringing fire element shit is advisable and when you can, try to hit the yellow cores instead of just random body part.

You don't have to hit the tentacles, you can also attack his body. The fire is suppose to give you a fire buff on your weapon which would deal tons more damage to it, but be careful not to use all of them as without the fire minions would spawn in the second phase

Get closer to the fire. Use a low stance for fast attacks that set him on fire. Use buffs and debuffs. Sacred water. Keep moving and definitely move when you see him pull back for the OHK lazer beam.

2nd phase is pretty self explanatory.

Are there any good Sword/Spear with light armor builds out there? I spent most of my time putting points into Heart, but now, at level 59, Skill is way more beneficial to my stars overall.

How hard is it to get the platinum for this one? I kinda wanna take a shot at it, I just love the game too much.

Are there any bullshit grindy trophies in this one, like in Dark Souls 3?

I just kept reapplying fire talismans and spamming high stance quick attack, lawl

YUki onna is down ( first try ) i felt good.

That forward dash caused me much more trouble than expected. ( couldn't get the timing right ) and then i clicked ,she was down

AND I FELT GOOD ABOUT IT.

This game still owns

On the matter of loot, it's interesting how it gets quite a bit better during NG+, wot with by then one being interested solely in greens, and thus, absolutely everything else gets sold/disassembled/shrined, with no need to think about it whatsoever.

Then you just pick from amongst the very few items that are left what you`ll disassemble.

This is mega if true.

FromSoft, take note.

They probably won't. From wants to build something akin to worlds/locations. Nioh very clearly just wants to build videogame missions. Different strokes and all that.

Then again, the bonfire ascetic system in DS2 was pretty damn gamey.

Yup, there'll be a full set of light armor + spear, complete with set bonuses, in the third region.

This game has a huge issue when it comes to hazards in boss stages. The fire in Saika's boss fight makes things incredibly annoying and just not fun. Think I've only actually enjoyed 2 or 3 bosses because of their own merit throughout the game so far.

Cheers :)

On a side note, is it dirty to use sloth on that latter sub mission? You know, the one that makes Ornstein & Smough look restrained?

Haven't used sloth at all due to it breaking the game, but this is some bullshit, LOL.

So I got the Red Demon smithing text on the first try, is that real lucky? I was afraid it was going to take forever...

Also, question about magic: When you buy the second or third tier of a spell, does it only make it cheaper to equip? Or does it also give you more uses and/or make it stronger/last longer?

Cheers :)

anything goes. Saw no point in using it early tho, wot with having to take out
nobu first, since yuki becomes much more dangerous if you make her hp drop. Tried using it on him, but it only made him more stationary, which resulted in yuki spamming that godforsaken thrown weapon skill, so that was a big no no. Sure unloaded sloth/weakness/lifesteal/carnage on her as soon as Oda was dead, tho. Too many goddamn attempts to try to play fair; they sure aren't.

more uses and cheaper. that's it.

I just fucked up and put like 8 skill points into a weapon I don't use, because I wasn't paying attention. I've been doing so well too. Damn.

I felt the opposite. I quickly grew tired of the green loot because 1) I had to micromanage the "+" gear to improve what I used, and 2) the said cost/investment is revealed to be a swindle as you progress. In the later areas, higher + items alleviate the need to manage every + you get, and in addition, the absurd soul matching costs make more sense since you do so less frequently.

I quite like the loot system now that I have completed all regions, but NG+ punishes you for trying to maximize your build if you do so before the endgame. It's a bit bizarre.

Cheers :)

It's a self-imposed constraint, so there is nothing dirty about abrogating.

Just finished with 44 hours(4 of which I'm guesstimating were idle eating or doing other things). So legitimately around a 40 hour game for me. Finished at level 106.

Overall pretty great experience for a first entry into a new IP. Really glad to see Team Ninja back making great games.
