Nioh |OT| Stamina is Ki

I'm gunna play some Nioh, so if anyone wants help with a boss lemme know.

~~

So side-note, I beat the 2nd boss in Bloodborne and really think that people shouldn't compare these two. And by that I mean, there's so much worse/better in different areas, that we really have an apples and oranges scenario here. Though, I do prefer my oranges ;)

I had so much more difficulty defeating Naomasa with a normal Katana than with a Dual Katana.

God of Wind is GOD.

Any reason not to disassemble all my yellow weapons and armor at about level 60?

Not really no. They're not even good fodders for soul matching because the rarer the equipment you use for material, the cheaper it would be.

Start fighting a giant centipede, try to circle strafe around to his back (like I imagine everyone on the planet would) and his head does a sharp 180 and travels through his body to get to me...

That and Umi-Bozu are crap bosses. I hate that they're back to back areas, easily the worst part of the game IMO.

GC is an awful and glitchy fight. I hate it the most out of all battles in the game.

I just got to second region on map. I'm really loving this game, here are some comments.

- It has taken me a really long time to get used to combat controls of this game. I still haven't used ki pulse that much. But I manage.
- Dabbled in magic + ninjutsu, but noticed I never use the items I get from those so I respecced and spent the stat points in other places instead
- It took me way too long to realize that instead of leaving all useless items on the ground, I can just pick them up & disassemble them at forge for all those crafting components I so crave.
- I started by using sword + spear combo, but I have now started to exclusively use the single-sword.
- Hardest fights so far (not in any order):
*
Vampire bat lady
*
"Invitation from the Warrior to the West (Duel)"

Especially in the second one I started doubting my choice of using sword only (I really dislike other weapons even though my secondary weapon [spear] has nice reach) but I found a nice tactic for it.
The warrior just can't stop himself from expending all of his ki if you just hug him, dodge behind him constantly and then hit him when he is out of ki.This way I could get sword medium-stance hits to stagger him & make him fall, then 1000 damage hit when he is down.

Sword fits my style of combining dodges and guards into hard-hitting counterattacks from high stance.

The motherfucker that coded Smithing text droprate should be fired and never allowed to work on a videogame again. What a vile human being.

That is probably the biggest bullshit this game throws at you. It even looks awful.

Where do you want me to die?

Are you in NG+?

NG+, have access to first 4 regions, so i guess anywhere there, wherever it's the fastest?

Not just smithing texts... I've been farming tongued youkai for over an hour, I just need ONE withered tongue... but all i get is useless tuff and ocassional divine fragments

I seem to somehow have missed a boss according to the titles. I have ??? Marks between Nue and Ume-Bozu. Anyone know what boss I missed and how I can find it?

I'm maybe ten hours in? I'm starting to slowly realize the game won't offer me much more than what I've already played.

What I've played is quite nice though, don't get me wrong. I'm missing a sense of discovery, a magical feeling almost, that I'm getting with conquereing other games in the same genre (by that I mean Soulsborne).

When you discover something hidden, it's still a random loot cache. It's not a new weapon you might find. It's more loot you probably already have too much of anyway.

The level design is generic. Not bad. Not good.

The bosses, so far, are generic.

It is starting to feel like a really excellent combat system put into an above average game. I saw that one of my PSN friends was playing Bloodborne, and I had a nostalgic feeling of wanting to experience that world again. And you see how I wrote that? Experiencing that world. Nigh is not a virtual world, it's a really video gamey game. You complete stages, you get rewards. It's not better or worse than the other, but when I look at it subjectively, and after the immersive worlds I have played, I find it to be a negative. Once I have completed Nioh, and I think i will because I am still having fun kicking ass, I doubt I will have the urge to get back into it's 'world'.

In the cave or the one up top? What is your ingame name?

The one near the building, where there are 2 sentries and archer. ZackFair999

My chest and weapon are 320, although they are 320 through soul matching.

I should have tried forging a native 320 one, will probably do it later if this doesn't work

I feel like this game is the Demon's Souls of last gen. It took everyone by surprise on how good the game is.

I've been investing in Magic and I honesly don't think Sloth is what people make it to be. IT doesn't need to be removed nor nerfed in my opinion.

You need to restart the mission to change Revs. Play on a map that is rarely played like the very last level. It will rotate Revs out.

I don't think you can drop divine equipments in NG though

I'm dying right now in "A request from Ginchiyo" NG+ in between first shrine and the sentry

Username is ZackFair999

If you are PSN friends and you fight each others revenants you automatically get 5 drops from the revenant. So def add each other to help out

So on a "git gud" (i.e. difficulty) scale. How does this compare to the Soulsborne series?

If it's on the same level, I think I'll buy during the upcoming psn rebate week, but if it's significantly harder, I'm going to pass until a bigger sale.

Thanks in advance for replies.

Guess i am getting better at the game as well now. Defeated spider boss first try, no summon. Then the ice queen 3rd try no summon and now i met the first boss (Onryoki) again in a side quest and just mopped the floor with him.

Slowly getin gud at this game.

Its difficult because it demandes mastery of all the various combat techniques and weapons. That said by and large it's seems easier than your standard Souls game in NG but it steps it up big time in twilight missions and NG+

Ok I'm now dying in a mission where it looks like there aren't many people playing.

3rd Region, NG+, "The Disappearing Ranjatai"

I'm dying at the very beginning in the middle of the place where you spawn, before the stairs on the right of the shrine
Just killed you and got your spear. It's 150

Well mission failed then. May I see the stats of that spear?

I'm gonna try forging a native level 320 and equip that

I found your revenant in the Ginchiyo mission.

Edit: Everything was 150 and +0 to boot.

Thanks - this is good feedback.

Much appreciated.
