No More Heroes coming to PS360 (confirmed)

Alot of other people, some on this very forum, were also saying the same about Microsoft and Ninja Gaiden 2.

Bottom line: If Marvelous makes a deal with anyone not named Ubisoft, Ubisoft doesn't have much of shit to say about it since it's not their contract.

I'm pretty sure Marvelous isn't stupid enough to have two of their games release at the same time.

...After NMH2 is out and done, then they should/could do it.

Sigma 2 was self published. MMV does not have its own publishing company in the US. It has a deal with Xseed, but Xseed it a separate company. They already have a deal with Ubisoft for this IP, they are not going to jeopardize it for Xseed.

Again, so no one else misunderstands me, I believe Ubisoft will publish this in the US. Just not anytime soon and most likely with NMH2HD because the first game is too old and severally broken by its hub.

Wouldn't the longer Ubisoft (or anyone else) waits to bring it over, the lower the chances are for it to even do decently? I mean people say two years after is bad enough, but what if it becomes two and a half or even three years after the Wii version? Kinda a now or don't bother situation isn't it?

Your concern sounds sincere.

I don't understand how the gameplay is going to work. If it is just going to be a regular brawler then I don't think it will be very fun at all, it seems like this is one of the Wii games that lives and dies by its motion controls, well at least gameplay wise. It looks beautiful and I loved the game on the Wii, but I don't know if I should be excited or worried at this point.

You swipe the remote sometimes.

Sometimes you shake it to regain katana energy.

This isn't fucking Wii Sports Resort.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying that NMH needed motion controls to be any good and that it added to the immersion of the game (or some bullshit like that anyway). They were easily neglectable and I would hardly call them 'immersive' either, they aren't 1:1 controls or anything like that. If limp-wristed gestures are what you think are the make or breaking point of this game then more power to you I guess, I will be happy replaying it without them, not noticing a thing.

This man clearly played the same game I did.

I'm just sayin'. Outside of the boss fights the only time NMH gets good(outside of the boss fights) is when I'm swinging the remote around like a goon while telling everyone to fuck off.

If you guys want motion controls so much bug them to include some DualShock 3/Sixaxis control scheme. The Katana recharging is something that the Sixaxis could do, so are the finishing swipes :lol

The same could be said for 90% of the threads on GAF.

As it is, I'm glad to see more people standing up for the lack of motion controls.

Lack of tacked on motion controls is a good thing.

I suppose it's a fetish amongst many people when they feel a sense of pleasure when they shake their wrists rapidly.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the Wii Remote was good for the game because it's held in one hand just like your Beam Katana. That's why the motions added to the experience for me, anyway. A two-handed controller won't be the same.

Ditto

You generally don't waggle rapidly too much in No More Heroes. Most of the time you do one or two hard slashes at the end of a button-press combo to cause people's heads to explode or a single directional motion to do a wrestling move. You shake the remote up and down to recharge the beam katana's battery every so often.

As weird as it is (erm, but not in the weird way), I liked to shake the Wii Remote for the recharging, as it gave a sense of urgency when fighting a boss, or surrounded by enemies on Bitter mode.

I don't get the backlash about the "whole point of the game was the waggle"...when this is the same game that on it's sequel; the dev team decided not to use Wiimotion Plus to make "waggle better"...in favor of using the Classic Controller, to allow "normal controls" and "reach more people"..

Either way, to me, the thing that sold the combat the most was the fact that you were holding a one-handed controller, and, as such, were able to slash it like sword.

All the combat was handled with a single button, too, so it's not like there's a huge diversity in attacks or strategy. It basically boiled down to wiggling the analog stick incessantly to do the dodge maneuver -- whatever it was called -- and then mashing the A button. I just think it'll be boring with a standard controller. One button for high attacks and another for low? Yawn.

The game will still be ugly as fuck, too, because the source material largely is. I mean, the boss battles look great, sure, but hardly anything else does.

I hated every non-boss part about the game, actually wish if this was like the SOTC concept , where you travel in the city to fight just the bosses.

I guess that means that people who prefer button mashing and joystick waggling only do so because they enjoy making small, repetitive motions using only their thumb.

Have you actually played NMH before? Motion+ wouldn't have benefited the game because precise sword strikes weren't necessary...

You sure know what you're talking about.

Not more more info aside from some sections open now, but the site reveals the developer of this remake/port. The developer is Feel Plus, of Lost Odyssey and Ninety-Nine Nights 2 fame. It also confirms that in Japan, the PS3 version is rated CERO D (same as Wii), while the 360 version is rated CERO Z (based on the US version of the Wii game).

They were stupid easy on the Wii version, so I don't see how waggle would affect them one way or another.

Feel Plus, huh? That makes my hopes of this port running at 60 fps a tad diminished. :D

Feel Plus is good.

Joke's on you for taking dabookerman seriously! :p

Edge has an interview up with Yasuhiro Wada, mostly about this game. Some interesting tidbits in there:

- It's on the HD platforms because they wanted to expand the audience and see if it could sell better than its Wii counterpart.
- Feelplus is the developer because they're more experienced with HD tech and because GHM is too busy with other games.
- Suda's a creative consultant.
- Analog controls. No use of the Sony wand or anything.

I will gladly aid in this quest.

Well, so long as it looks pretty...

- Suda's a creative consultant.

Fantastic, although this isn't going to really be a creative overhaul, is it?

- Analog controls. No use of the Sony wand or anything.

I'm happy.

Feel plus has no experience on PS3 whatsoever. Holding my breath there.

Also, Cero D is a bad thing, right?

PS3 version is the censored Wii version.
360 version is the American Wii version.

Sounds like a year late port shoved off to a b-tier developer while the A team works on the real sequel.

;)

Yes yes always adhere to the "waggle die in a fire" movement regardless of intent, application, or effectiveness in the game.

I wonder if they'll manage to make the overworld bareable this time around :o

I loved Killer7 and really wanted to love NMH, so I'm so excited for this. The game's performance on Wii, especially outside the main levels, was just so offputting for me.
