Yeah, I'd say a guide is more than an adviser:P That's someone who leads the way and shows him the path.

Bah...you misunderstood.

McCain called him a "spiritual guide". Was that just a general "yeah, he's a spritual guide to many people" or "he's a spritual guide for me"?

Obama's smart.. he knew if he didn't address this before the weekend this would fester and be talked about on all political Sunday news shows. So now when its brought up you have to mention Obama kicking Wright on ass out the door!

You said I called Obama a liar in a response to people supporting the reverend's comments.
No I didn't; I asked if you were calling him a liar because you made a comment about agreeing and respecting someone while at the same time not believing everything they said. The natural response for me was to ask, wait are you calling Obama a liar? Frankly I'm still not sure what you were trying to convey there.

AmishNazi said:
I said thread.
you: "yet you keep saying I am"

me: "where in that post"

Understand?

I think your compulsive need--as implied by you in an above post--to respond to each and every thing I say, is causing you to lose sight of any sense of consistent meaning in what you're trying to convey with your responses. Outside of your rabid hatred for me, that is.

To be fair, it's tough to find out which one specifically it was since there isn't nearly as much media to sift through, it was mainly only covered in blogs.

Are you joking? CEREAL? I have to watch the repeat tonight.:lol

Cereal. Even as a conservative I find his tactics rather.....snarky. Obama should have just distanced himself from the pastor when this whole thing began (which was long before this week) and he could have avoided this whole mess.

I mean...yeah....the fact that he went to this guys church for 20 years or so and then claims he had never ever heard anything like that in the sermons is kinda suspect, but hey, whatever....if he is finally denouncing it then good for him.

Hey, he's not doing the interview with Hannity, good man.:lol Major Garrett instead.

What a weird interview. Garrett is treating this like a cross-examination.

"Yes and no answers only!"

Same shit different post.

If you're not sure what I'm trying to convey it's because you aren't reading my response. It was directed at your "OMG Obama fans are going to flip flop on the support of the reverend now that Obama denounced him". You had to know that what it was directed at because ummmmm I fucking quoted it.

Then you say I'm responding to unasked questions when you never even asked a question. You just made a blanket statement with regards to those of us who defended the reverend statements.

APF said:

So you didn't say that I was attacking you in one post makes it true for all other posts. OK got it. I say that you keep accusing me of attacking in a thread and you ask for a example from the last post. That's fucking spinning.

When you say I'm being incoherent and imply that I'm attacking you like you are doing yet again yes I will defend myself. I will not allow someone to misrepresent what I say. Sorry just kind of hard headed like that.

Uhh that's not what I said at all.

AmishNazi said:

Uhh, because I didn't say you were attacking me in the post you quoted when you made that comment, making your comment a complete non-sequitur. Not only that, but you could only come up with one instance of me specifically saying you were attacking me: the post where I responded to you accusing me of twisting your words by asking a completely normal and legitimate question. You're a fucking hoot! :lol

Gotta give credit for Obama coming into the lion's den for that interview.

But, the idea that he was never in attendance during one of these types of sermons or did not know about more than "one or two" is absolutely insulting.

Eh almost as insulting as the insinuation that because he went to this church that he hates whites and America. There's a lot of insulting going on here. But at least FOX is here to make sure and stir that racial hatred.:P

Barack and him attending his church

Barack as the cowardly lion

"I'm off the see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz, because because because because be cause the bull shit I'm trying to convince you of.

Barack's comment that he only heard things like this once or twice is going to be applied to every single sermon this Reverend made.

Sean Hannity just said that Barack Obama should resign as a Senator.

Let me get this straight . . . he thinks Obama should resign for something his pastor said?

Could the Hannity be more of a douche? How about Fox News should be shut down for what Hannity just said . . . that would make as much sense.

This was a huge mistake on his part, going on Fox News.

Nah he handled it well, didn't give them any more ammunition, provided a counterpoint, a coloring of the issue(lol). It wasn't a bad thing. Now they can't claim he's avoiding talking about it:P

Not only that, he drew a hard line in the sand. If anything he said in the interview proves to be false, then he is done. I personally find it extremely difficult to believe Obama was not in attendance the first Sunday after 9/11 when Wright blamed the attacks on America.

It doesn't seem to of shut them down. Look at the panels they keep brining up to discuss his comments. Greta showed more footage of Wright than she did of Obama's interview, and now they're talking to Gingrich for his sole input? Where's the balance in this thing?

And even during his interview, they briefly cut to the pastor screaming. Hell, when they were playing what seemed like 5 minutes of his ranting they kept flashing his face on the screen, notice that?

Well if he didn't show up on FOX, they'd be talking about it anyways, and they wouldn't have ANY interview footage.:lol

I missed it. Was Barack on the show? When does the show repeat?

He was on the show with an interview with Major whatever, Daniel I think. Was pre-taped. His CNN interview right now is much better though, because he's being allowed to articulate his beliefs and arguments.

Parsely is the guy who has been called McCain's spiritual advisor, not Hagee.

And McCain actively sought Hagee's endorsement and did a press conference with him when he got it, so he's not "just some nut who endorsed him"

You know this type of shit should almost be seen as aiding terrorism. You know it's not like the extremist need any more ammo. Yet we have people like this Parsely asshole driving tankers into a forest fire. Do we really need to give the extremist more propaganda to use against us?

Could he have been out of town?

Yeah, one's anti-Islam, the other's anti-Catholic, anti-semitic.

Can't people just love one another?

Nope. But to be honest what Hagee said about the Catholic believe really wasn't wrong. It is in the bible. More people in GAF should read the bible. :p

Rev. Wright was more on the ball than Obama on what would happen last year.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/us/politics/06obama.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

After all, back in January, Mr. Obama had asked Mr. Wright if he would begin the event by delivering a public invocation.

But Mr. Wright said Mr. Obama called him the night before the Feb. 10 announcement and rescinded the invitation to give the invocation.

In Monday’s interview, Mr. Wright expressed disappointment but no surprise that Mr. Obama might try to play down their connection.

“When his enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli” to visit Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, Mr. Wright recalled, “with Farrakhan, a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell.” Mr. Wright added that his trip implied no endorsement of either Louis Farrakhan’s views or Qaddafi’s.

Mr. Wright said that in the phone conversation in which Mr. Obama disinvited him from a role in the announcement, Mr. Obama cited an article in Rolling Stone, “The Radical Roots of Barack Obama.”

According to the pastor, Mr. Obama then told him, “You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.”

It is a little known fact that although Pat Roberton & Jerry Falwell (and others like them) have largely been ignored by Americans, their comments often got big play in the Islamic world. When Jerry Falwell called Mohammed a 'terrorist' there were riots in India that killed 8 people.

In the same way that so many Americans judge Muslims by the way Osama behaves, many Muslims judge us by the way Robertson, Hagee, Parsley, and other Bible-thumpers behave. :-(

Obama listened to this pastor for a couple of decades, a pastor who harbored such hatred for white people, there's no way out of this, how could he not have known this guy harbored such hatred? And if he had known, why did he continue to attend his surmons? If he did not know, what does this say about Obama's ability to read people? You know someone for twenty years and you don't know what kind of person he is? How would you pick the right person to your administration, people whom you have much less interaction with?

No they do not, Muslim hardliners have rioted and killed over cartoons and will riot over a dutch short film. Many Muslims are not that stupid to riot or judge Americans via Robertson or Hagee who most Americans never heard of in the first place.

And there, that's everybody weighing in now with kittowny.

At least now those silly "Obama isn't vetted" remarks can end:P

He can and will take the high road, let the media do all the dirty work for now and see how much damage this will do to Obama's campaign, rest assured this footage of the pastor will be deployed by McCain when the time is right. He's not going to make himself look like he's jumping on this the first chance he gets.
