And apparently we're after Ben Watson. I'm all for finding a replacement for the Rapist. Go go front office!
Porter agreed to a five-year, $32 million contract that includes $20 million in guarantees.

whytemyke said:Dolphins had a sweet team last year, too. Their coach was just in over his head and didn't know what to do with it all. I mean, you can't tell me that if you put Bill Parcells in front of the Dolphins now that they don't become a superbowl team within 2 seasons, with all the talent they've got.
Anyways, it kinda sucks for the Jets cuz that trade (WTF WAS CHICAGO THINKING, EMINEM?!) makes them sweet, but with the shit that the Patriots have been doing this off-season it won't make a difference in the regular season.

The Jets were closing in on a deal last night with former Cowboys DE Kenyon Coleman. His agent, Jordan Woy, said in an e-mail, "We are still talking, but it is looking very good."
DE David Bowens (Dolphins) also visited the Jets yesterday.
No way. Jets are taking back that division this year!whytemyke said:Anyways, it kinda sucks for the Jets cuz that trade (WTF WAS CHICAGO THINKING, EMINEM?!) makes them sweet, but with the shit that the Patriots have been doing this off-season it won't make a difference in the regular season.

we need linebackers assholes!
Nameless said:Saban really ****ed over the Dolphins. They aren't exactly a young team(especially on defense) and they wasted two good years under Saban. Now the new regime is stuck with a gimpy LOLpepper, who they obviously don't want. Problem is they can't cut it or trade him at this point because of the astronimical cap penalty hit they would take. They also really can't draft QB like Quinn who could come in and play hell because it would be too much money wrapped on in a position where only one man plays.
Linebacker Tully Banta-Cain and the 49ers are very close on a contract agreement. Banta-Cain, a former standout at Cal, visited with the 49ers on Monday. An announcement could come later in the day.
"We're working it out," said Jim Sims, Banta-Cain's Oakland-based agent.
Banta-Cain has played in the 3-4 defense with the Patriots his first four seasons in the league, starting five games last season. He recorded 5.5 sacks with 10 quarterback hurries and 40 tackles last season.
Banta-Cain has played on two Super Bowl winners. As a rookie, he saw action on special teams units in the Patriots' 32-29 victory over the Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII. And the following year he played defense in pass-rush situations and special teams in a 24-21 win over the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX.
The Rams offered Banta-Cain a contract during a visit to St. Louis on the first day of free agency. He was scheduled to travel to visit with the Steelers later today.

Jets had no talent last year and still put the fear of Ben into the Pats and this year they are going to finish what they started last year.

I never hear about the Jets on radio here since I'm in Bills country now. What else have they done?
Grifter said:Solidifying the front D would be ideal, but do you want someone to replace Lavernues?
The Frankman said:Jones gets 12 million? Wow, and the Jets go from #37 to #63 in the draft. Is Thomas Jones REALLY worth that much?
maynerd said:Hopefully Graham signs with the hawks.
after watching him for the last 4 years on the Pats, he's really not all that impressive. If he was I'm sure the Pats would work hard on signing him back, they need LB's. I remember a game in Foxboro I went to when he couldn't even take down DREW BLEDSOE for a sack.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Pittsburgh signed 49ers punter Andy Lee, who is a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet Tuesday.
San Francisco has seven days to match the offer. If they choose not to match, they will receive the Steelers' 2007 sixth-round draft choice.
Lee averaged a career-best 44.8 yards per punt last season -- good for sixth in the NFC and seventh in the NFL.
dskillzhtown said:I don't know WTF the Texans were thinking. They could have given a 2nd round pick for Jones instead of signing Green. At this point, Thomas as alot more explosion at the line than Green and seemingly is more durable. First Flanagan at center was a disaster, then trading Morency for Gado was a disaster and now we get Green. WTF next, will we be getting Favre next season? Is Mike Sherman our GM as well as OC?
Mashing said:C'mon, you gotta know by now giving up picks is a bad idea for the Texans. We just have too many holes. Kubiak and Rick Smith are doing a great job IMO.
Not if we unload. We need tackles since we didn't re-sign Slaughter and Walker. We need a QB since all we have is Walter. Sucks that Garcia went bux. What's he gonna do there? Wait for more Simms organ explosions?Karakand said:I guess we're not supposed to expect much in the way of big moves, Rorschach. The Raiders only have like 9-10 million in cap room. :-/
