Old Games You Want Rebooted

I don't want "reboot" I want new entry for .hack game.
Well, you're in luck!

I would love to get GTA 1 from 1997 remade. With map and save system and better fluid animations for the characters.

Since the last Soul Calibur was released 8 years ago...and it wasn´t bad, but of course didn´t match the glory of the mythical Dreamcast version, or at least 2 or 3...Maybe the series need a reboot, or something.
Also, Bloody Roar!

And BTW, this world need Duke Nukem back! Now that it´s 30th Duke Nukem 3D Anniversary they should release something more than another recopilation. I know Duke Forever left some scars, but this could be the chance to bring something that again breaks boundaries and shows the middle finger to the whole woke agenda!

I'm gonna go with some Amiga games:
Hired Guns. I think it was already planned in the late 90s but ultimately never finished?
Walker. Give it to Housemarque.
Proper Syndicate remake, not another first person shooter.

I just want really good remasters of:

NHL HITZ 20-03
Burnout Takedown
Burnout Revenge
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Virtua Tennis 2009
Ninja Blade
True Crime: LA

Clean up the looks, fine tune the performance, add some modern QoL shit, and I'd be happy as a fucking clam.

What's the gameplay loop in these games? Is it something like Decent but only in cities or what?

Take my reply with a pinch of salt as I finished G-Police way back when on the PlayStation, and also played Descent 1 and 2 goddamn ages ago too, so I may be misremembering stuff.

G-Police is slower and heavier and more simcade (sim-arcade) - you're flying a chunky police VTOL through skyscraper canyons, doing patrols, chases, and response jobs (and minimising collateral damage and civilian casulties) rather than just wiping out everything in sight. It was more a moody sci-fi police sim (along the lines of Bladerunner) than Descent's blast everything that moved gameplay.

Damn! Is this any good?

Edit: Just checked it out on Steam. Holy crap, you're right! Definitely going to give it a go!

Haven't had a chance to try the demo yet :)

Just give me an Breath of Fire or Wild Arms. Remake, reboot, whatever, make good games out of these franchises.

*Put Media Vision to make Wild Arms with the combat from WA5

I think it's time for a new one. So many modern systems have touch screens now and PC gaming has ballooned in recent years.

I'm so tired of reboots and remasters. There are "old" games I would like to see at least give a soft reboot to.

Legacy of Kain is definitely one I want a sequel to but you can soft reboot it considering time travel shenanigans.

On a more serious note, I'd love to see Castlevania come back, but I don't really trust modern developers. Not that they aren't talented far from it but most companies aren't looking for the same things that made those old days special.

Now, for anyone nostalgic about the '80s, '90s, and early 2000s, I can't recommend the RetroBeast from KrisCoolMod enough. I've been using this system for years, and it's simply the best. The one-and-done solution. The ultimate retro gaming collection, you'll never feel the need to buy modern GaaS garbage again.

Retro gaming is where it's at, and RetroBeast is peak retro gaming. If you know, you know.

I see, thank you this G-Rebels looks intruiging.

Apparently, Katsuhiro Harada had to fight to get Tekken 8 made. If Bandai Namco were reluctant to make Tekken 8, there is even less chance of Soul Calibur getting the green light.

And it pains me because I love SC! I'd even go so far to say that I prefer it to Tekken.

I'd vote for Underworld (2), as you can easily play VII these days on pretty much anything thanks to Exult.

...buuuuut it seems EA both has no interest in the franchise, and at the same time no desire to give the license to anyone else, so probably not going to happen.

Dark Souls...lol j/k, but I do want to erase my memory of it to play it anew. I want Diablo 1 remade as a Souls like. People tire of the genre, not me though.

Hear me out...

Enemy territories: quake wars...

One of the better battlefield likes that we got that no one really played

But if we going old school reboot, ill stick to 3d because a 2d -> 3d reboot is always too ambitious that is can easily fail

But id love a new Diddy Kong racing, dark cloud, timesplitters, UT2k4... and many more but those come to mind

Mach Rider
Castelvania
Kid Icarus
Metal gear
Shining force
Ridge Racer
Rygar
Strider
Phantasy Star RPG
Faxanadu
