Now that TLoU has dropped to no.3, it's time for a price slash! :p

Fifa 13 (3+) Xbox 360 (48) PS3 (25) VITA (10) Wii (5)

Seems like the VITA version sells decent even if it doesn't has the same features as its console counterparts. No wonder EA decided to release FIFA 14 on it, if only they provide new features instead of a simple roster update.

Also where are the 3DS and VITA sales for Lego games. They don't sell at retail at all? I only see DS percentage in the Guardian chart.

Minecraft got a massive price promotion and it's sales increased 74% over last week's. Were it not on sale for £12, Pikmin 3 would probably have been 1st. Not saying that looking at the rankings this way makes Pikmin 3 a success or failure.

It's still incredible given it's sold 5 million+ digitally, that's one hell of a handicap at retail.

Pikmin 3 didn't have a bad debut.

This week (Pikmin 3 + New Super Luigi U) was the biggest one for Wii U since launch, but these two titles didn't provide a substantial boost if any to Wii U hardware sales. The next sizable release is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD so 3 more months of terrible sales.

For many weeks, 3DS has been in place of DS for Lego Batman 2's share.

Woohoo Mario and Luigi represent for the Netherlands. I contributed (didn't even buy in UK this time lol)

Game is not as good as its predecessor imo but still very enjoyable.

I remember there were people who thought that, with "So many games!" promotion wearing off, many 3DS titles would have left the charts / decreased significantly compared to previous weeks. So far, not only Luigi's Mansion 2 is still in top 10, but titles like Lego City Undercover and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D are still in charts. LCU is very surprising, though: I wouldn't have ever expected to see it still in Individual Top 20 three months after its release. It's true numbers are low overall, but it's still a good achievement.

MARIO AND LUIGI: DREAM TEAM BROS is doing really well. Gotta get this game someday.

Happy to see Pikmin 3 having a successfull start. Still waiting for my pre-order to arrive.

Would you be able to say if Pikmin 3 is closer to the 6k or the 12k mark?

Also any indication on wii u hardware LTD would be appreciated

No indications, sorry. GfK ninja's are really hardcore, much worse than NPD ninja's IMO. We've been lobbying them to put together an EU15 monthly chart like NPD but they don't seem interested.

So it was like Japan ? Not much hardware moved but decent software sales ?

Nowhere near that kind of bump (8k to 22k iirc) in relative terms. Software was pretty weak also given how content starved Wii U owners are and that this is a banner title from Nintendo's first party, plus it has had mainstream advertising on TV.

Pikmin has never been a huge seller.

Did Mediabiz put Germany's Top 10 behind the paywall right after they posted it? They posted the article about it on 15:06, CET, but it's already hidden, only paying members can access to it. What the heck.

This is the first big week for Wii U in the Nordic countries I think. I don't remember Wii U games charting there.

UK Software
Week ending 27 July 2013
Revenue: £6.0mm
Units: 284,439**

July 2013
Revenue: £22.94mm (-36.1%)
Units: 1.097mm (-35.4%)**

YTD Revenue: £296.3mm (-17.2%)
YTD Units: 12.43mm (-19.5%)**

** There are two weeks now that I think MCV UK has printed an erroneous number. I've adjusted two weekly figures (6 July and 27 July) to reflect adjustments stated elsewhere in relative terms (e.g. "week A changed X% relative to week B, in terms of units"). This not only affects a particular week's units figure, but also the monthly and YTD figures. I am more willing to believe the units figures are wrong because making that adjustment in each week has kept the weekly and 4-week ASPs in line with historical summer trends.

First infos about this week in UK

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/minecraft-is-the-uk-s-no-1-for-the-second-week-in-a-row/0119640

The Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft has claimed its second successive No.1 in the UK.

It’s a largely inactive week in the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40, with the only significant mover being Ubisoft’s movie tie-in The Smurfs 2 which climbs 20 places to No.5 in its third week of release.

Last week’s No.2 Pikmin 3 tumbles to 15th place in its second week.

Here’s the UK Top 20 in full for the week ending August 3rd:
1. Minecraft: Xbox 30 Edition (Microsoft)
2. The Last of Us (Sony)
3. Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Nintendo)
4. FIFA 13 (EA)
5. The Smurfs 2 (Ubisoft)
6. Far Cry 3 (Ubisoft)
7. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (Warner Bros)
8. Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Activision)
9. Tomb Raider (Square Enix)
10. Assassin’s Creed III (Ubisoft)
11. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros (Nintendo)
12. LEGO The Lord of the Rings (Warner Bros)
13. Max Payne 3 (Take-Two)
14. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar)
15. Pikmin 3 (Nintendo)
16. Need for Speed: Most Wanted (EA)
17. Battlefield 3 (EA)
18. Grand Theft Auto Episodes: Liberty City (Rockstar)
19. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Legendary Edition (Bethesda)
20. The Sims 3: Island Paradise (EA)

Ukie official report

Microsoft’s ‘Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition’ (-9%) holds the No1 spot in the All Formats Chart for a second week. It’s a quiet week for new releases and so the 4J studios developed title finds itself largely unchallenged at the top. ‘The Last of Us’ (-2%) which held the crown for six weeks prior to Minecraft’s ascent to the top climbs a place to No2 as does Nintendo’s ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ (-0%) to No3. Following a strong week on week boost in sales EA’s ‘FIFA 13’ (+33%) continues to climb back up the chart reaching No4. Even more impressive is the climb of Ubisoft’s ‘The Smurfs 2’ (+115%) which following its debut two weeks ago flies up the chart to No5 no doubt helped by their second outing on the big screen. Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ (+48%) is also back in the Top 10 up from No16 to No7 following a near fifty percent boost in sales. Square Enix’s ‘Tomb Raider’ (+1%) is a non-mover at No9 while ‘Assassin’s Creed III’ (+11%) just edges out ‘Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros’ to round off the Top 10 at No10.
