Hang on - are you saying Rare had their own rhythm game in development? Are Microsoft just turning them into a bandwagon-jumping dev house now?
Between hipster(hipstress?) Joanna in PDZ, Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country, Rare has always been a bandwagon-jumping dev house known for being late to every party.

It's strange that we're the continent where SingStar and Just Dance got their big breaks but the Guitar games failed to really catch on.

The difference being, plastic guitar games involve learning new bemani-style gaming skills - and holding a cheap plastic guitar, whereas the singing/dancing games involve using real-world 'skills' (or at least things that everyone has tried once) in a game, whilst drunk.

Of course, this rule doesn't totally hold up seeing as DDR was pretty huge in the UK at the end of the PSX's life.

How about next time we don't shout from the mountaintops (with a new thread title) every time we get a leak?

Fable 3 is selling well because Fable 2 did and people liked that game.

As much as I enjoyed Fable 2, I hated the blurry graphics. If Fable 3 has the same blurry graphics I won't even rent it because it gave me headaches.

Spain is more, I think.

Nope. Italy was PES biggest market for PES2009 and 2010. Italy also has the highest number of copies sold for... PES2010 PS2 lol
Obviously I don't know about 2011, but the fact that I don't see a PS2 version tells me that it could be behind/on par with Spain this year... which are both huge compared to the UK and Germany nowadays.
Anyway, a lot of that has to do with the fact that the whole patching phenomenon started in Italy with the PSX, and you could see *pirated* Winning Eleven (PES of course) being sold on the streets by the hawkers for a pittance and with Serie A/ Serie B patch already applied. It was a cultural thing before, but it still is even if FIFA now sells at least a bit (before FIFA09 nobody cared) everybody and their mommy play PES over there ("there" since I'm not in Italy atm). I mean, most people I know have a PS2 or a PS3 with PES and nothing else, and I'm not even kidding... nothing else. A fucking PS2 with nothing but 8 or 9 yearly iterations of PES :lol
I forgot to add something: the game retails for €69 (ahahah!) in physical stores and stays up there for months, people buy into that since Halifax (italian pub for Konami games) forces Konami to pull out the italian commentary even on the PS3 UK blu-ray.
PES in Italy = A LOT of money

Good show for MoH and New Vegas.

They have both caught a lot of flak, especially MoH, but they both deserve great success.

I am sad that Fable 3 made number 1. Dumbed-down RPGs is not my thing.

Who gives a shit if it's not your thing? It's more adventure than RPG at this point and a good game.

Did the red Wii launch this week? A lot of Wii software is up.

Or, dare I say it,
holidays?

Goldeneye outsold Blood Stone, which isn't all that surprising.

Great start for Goldeneye. CoD:MW:R debuted at #28 last year.

Does anybody know the most successful FPS for Wii and how well it performed?

Poor Bizarre. I feel sorry for the guys.
OTOH, maybe Microsoft will give them PGR5 to make if Activision decides to close the studio.

Wonder how long Bizzare Creations has left now, second flop they released this year for Activision.

#31 - 007: BLOOD STONE (PS3)
#33 - 007: BLOOD STONE (360)

Goldeneye for Wii appears to have done well though at least.

#09 - GOLDENEYE 007 (WII)

Theres been a big push for goldeneye with alot of ads on tv of late.

Red Wii is the end of this week, I think, and there are no
holidays
at the mo :)

Reasonable debut for Goldeneye, but will be interesting to see how it goes from here. I'd expect a quick drop, but if Activision or Nintendo can promote it as a fun, local multi game like Mario Kart then it could stay around for a while (the ads for GE already do this nicely, IMO, it's just a question of sustaining them).

Is that calculated on the percentage changes? Sourced from somewhere?

Just noticed that Rock Band 3 has dropped off the charts after just one week - guess its gone for good

Judging by the percentages and approximate numbers Goldeneye did sub 22k for the week

Pity but its not suprising, next week we find out how Dance Central has done. Should give an idea of Harmonix's future

Doesnt help when these idiot pubs send the game out to die 4 days before the biggest game of the generation is released.

Apparently they don't care, since it's also their game. And then there is Catacysm this month.

Sucks for Bizzare. PGR4 was released just days apart from Halo 3 and sent to die, and here we are three years later and the same exact thing is happening to them under Activision. They can't catch a break.

It really isn't. It's Goldeneye ffs. Also been backed up by a massive TV advertising campaign here in the UK, also showing people playing it on the "Classic" controller to try and hook in the core.

It is also a Wii game.

So great is all relative I suppose.

Biggest FPS perhaps, at best. (Not that it invalidates the "sent to die" point.)

How did Goldeneye 64 do in the UK? The N64 didn't do that great in Europe and in UK particularly I don't think Nintendo has ever done well until this generation.
