I'm actually glad to see Wii Party holding up in many countries. Hopefully they divorce mario from MarioKart next .

Sony Spain has announced that Gran Turismo 5 has sold 92,000 units in its first four days in the Spanish stores. The new driving simulator for PlayStation 3 has become one of the biggest releases of the year, meeting expectations, approaching 100,000 units from 24 to 27 November.
Sony has also said that more than 800 people came to a store in downtown Madrid to get your copy signed by Kazunori Yamauchi, the father of the GT series, hours before the official launch of the international game.
The company said that after this release so strong, their forecasts are able to sell 140,000 units in the first ten days, ie until the end of this week, and reach 275,000 units when finished the Christmas season.

Aside from the fact that its the biggest first week for a GT game.legend166 said:You'd have to call the GT5 sales pretty disappointing also.
That ain't gonna happen, Mario Party done good but not MARIO KART good.Gram Negative Cocci said:I'm actually glad to see Wii Party holding up in many countries. Hopefully they divorce mario from MarioKart next .

KingDizzi said:For one it's the first mainline GT game this gen so it should have had great anticipation
KingDizzi said:but most importantly it released during the holiday season, something GT4 did not do yet only just beat it.
KingDizzi said:BTW not saying here that it would do Black Ops numbers had it been advertised however not beating FIFA on just the PS3? Someone gone fucked up something special

Has there been any advertising in the UK at all for this game?
Just for illustration - Fifa10 sold 10M in Oct-Dec last year alone. And 11 is tracking significantly higher.gofreak said:We're going round in circles, but Fifa is a huge franchise now. HUGE.

Ashes1396 said:Yeah. That's what happens when you decimate the chief competitor's popularity. Most of the football audience, which had been split for years, has migrated pretty much to Fifa. And they did it on merit too.

I only get forced to watch the Disney Channel once a week but hadn't seen anything during Mickey's Clubhouse. I'd expect it to be targeted to the people who wear the Mickey smashing a guitar TopMan t-shirt.

bobbytkc said:15mill is impossible. That will require more than a third of the install base. I'd say 8-10mil
jcm said:The install base isn't static. It's growing by 15M per year, and GT5 isn't going to stop selling any time soon.
Kenka said:This is optimistic.

We Germans like our Ps3s, and Gran Turismo was always pretty big over here.Xater said:Really glad to see GT5 doing so well. It's pretty impressive to see the CE and the normal version in the top 10 as well.

PS3 is killing right now in Germany.

onken said:You could call it "the sport based on rugby except we gave it the wrong name for some reason"
Catchy.
Kenka said:Technically that's not what I meant. I meant that the PS3 doesn't sell 15M each year. It is true though that it will probably reach that amount this FY.
