The only girl so far that I find rather jarring in their love declaration is Ann on her level 9 confidant. Dunno, felt kinda weird.
As for the girls that have a crush in the MC, off the top of my head: Haru, maybe Futaba?, and Chihaya? The rest don't seem to mind if the MC decides not to pursue them.

Also I just noticed but Futaba sits like L from Death Note. Huh.
Like they don't need to be permanently mad at you, Christmas Eve can still happen. But make scenes have more impact like P4G. Make the cheaters feel guilty instead of just beating up on you. A personal scene with each one, especially the main party members would be amazing. And make it unskippable. And make MC rue the day he cheated on Futaba if he ever entered a relationship with her, make Sojibro kick your ass.

Gunning down Makoto won't be that bad at all, she probably won't care all that much. I'll enjoy every second of rejecting the adults if they make any moves though. They're lucky I'm not flying Chris Hansen over here to make their asses have a seat.

This whole game reminds me of Death Note, namely regarding how crazy the public perception is.

Light still had smarts though and was genius level. He had the walk to back up the talk even though he was a glory seeking loser. Mishima is just more a loser who squanders his potential because he's an ass, and needs MC's guidance to sort him out and put him on the right path. From the beginning he was riding on us. Light was just doing this for 'Justice' and Lolz.
So in summary:
Light is an ironic shitposter.
Mishima actually believes the stuff he types.
Both are still assholes regardless.

To be fair to him the game handles it with the subtlety of a sock full of quarters.
They spend a good like, four months screaming it at you.
Tho I tagged the shit out of my post so don't blame me.
Reminds me of how when TVTropes has to basically make an alternate page or entry for a character because it'd be obvious in a mystery who's who based on how much of their stuff is spoiler-tagged.

This is so me. Kawakami is such an interesting character and Becky is such a pandering fetishistic trope. Very bummed that her Confidant exists in that particular context.

What I don't get is how they seem to position Makoto as the canon pairing (main narrative scenes of closeness with Joker, her above average importance to the team, all her extra scenes with Sae, the "fake boyfriend" business) but then they totally botch her Confidant with an impersonal and highly externally focused B-plot and just the least emotionally justified romance initiation. It was a real disappointment.
Crazy to me that some modern S. Links are still spending so much time focusing on other people and not the relationship of the character and the MC.

I agree, while the characters are pretty nice, their S-link don't reflect how they're during the main story too.

Haven't started my own game yet, been watching my brother on his first playthrough. But I already know Haru is the one for me when I start. She's absolutely adorable and I'm a total sucker for the sweet rich/noble girl archetype. My choice was further reinforced by hearing about the higher rank Confidant stuff with her, I refuse to make her cry. 😔
Futaba is second best girl because she's also cute (and quite hilarious to watch when she acts like a little savage). I also get an urge to throw people who make her sad out of the nearest window because her voice actress really sells it. Her story and Confidant scenes are also leagues better and more genuinely touching than most of the other characters I've seen so far.

While I agree that people should have watched their spoilers more carefully, I also agree and would like to point out that they are also right in saying that the game itself told you about the plot point specifically right at the very start, when the MC escapes the casino (prologue spoilers)

It feels like all the females fall in love with MC at rank 8. Its nice in a way that the confessions in rank 9 don't feel blindsiding, but at the same time it feels like you have to disappoint so many people to go platonic. Makoto was especially bad, and I haven't seen Haru's yet since I only have her at 4, but everyone here has been mentioning something similar.
Am I misremembering, or did slinks in 4 have greater variance in P4. Maybe I'm just blending together the slinks and romantic scenes like christmas and valentines. I do know that at least Ai had a lot of variance in 4. I don't think anything in 5 has had that.

And I mean literally the first one that you get for free when Futaba messages you and says she wants to pick up a game and to meet her in akihabara. One of the conversations choices after you find her says "are you a r word" what is that r word? I can't for the life of me remember it but it stood out to me because I had to look up what it meant.
