Playstation Visual Arts goes through layoffs from a "large pivot on [a] AAA game"

You don't need to/want to force the release of a Live Service game. You just release it when it's ready. You're not going to make all your money in the first month, it needs to have legs. Really you don't want to release any game before its ready.
Yep. If Bungie are already saving PlayStation money by stopping them releasing duds or games that’ll die off quickly then they are already a valuable investment.

Destiny, Marathon and the GAAS consultancy looks like a good deal for PlayStation so far. They’ve also got some Mobile stuff on the go which’ll contribute to their bottom line as well.

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
This is a reason why you dont put alot of eggs on live service games.
Unlike SP games, live service games are a gamble. You dont know if you can make it or not.
At least with SP games, you can salvage the game.

With a SP game you can post an exuse tweet and tell players to wait for the day 90 patch, with a GAAS multiplayer it has to work from day one other wise the game is dead. There are no second chances.

The last rainbow six and final fantasy come to mind.
