CurlySaysX said:£425 is an exceptionally competitive and reasonable price. The PS3 is next gen, and at such a crazy price i have no doubt that they'll sell out instantly.
It seems the only people whining about the price are those that have no intention in buying this marvelous product even if it were selling at £199.

I will pick up Formula 1 CE, Resistance, Motorstorm and heavenly Sword if its available at launch.
What an absolutely unbeatable launch the PS3 will have.

Where is "here" ? The UK had always the worst prices... The "real" Europe never has to pay as muchItsInMyVeins said:Seriously, if PS3 will cost that much in the UK, I don't even wanna think about what it's gonna cost here.
PS3 has gone from an expensive console to a "non-option". It costs almost three times the rent I pay each month.

The great mark questions are UK and France. I really don't know what will happen there.

ItsInMyVeins said:Sweden.
Wii = almost 300 euros at launch.
XB360 = around 430 euros at launch.
But then again, we might not be considered "real" Europe :lol
Wouldn't surprise me at all if PS3 went for almost 700 euros here.
Kabouter said:Should've voted yes on the euro.
ItsInMyVeins said:Taxes, not so much euro.
Kabouter said:Well, taxes here are higher than in many other countries in the EU, we'll pay the same as them . How much is the Swedish VAT? 21%?
ItsInMyVeins said:A fast google gave me 25%, but I'm not sure.

gollumsluvslave said:IMHO it will sell out at launch to the early adopters, but the price will be a tough sell in the UK after the hardcore have bought in (hell even some usual launch buyers I know are passing at £425), especially with Wii and 360 for much cheaper, and with must-have titles coming 1st half of 2007.
Not to mention the PS2...
It will be interesting to see how long PS3 can sustain that price point. The first Xbox launched at £299 and dropped to £199 after a couple of months due to poor sales; of course it wasn't the Playstation name of course, but price will be a limiting factor.
That part is actually 75% true.CurlySaysX said:£425 is an exceptionally competitive and reasonable price. The PS3 is next gen, and at such a crazy price i have no doubt that they'll sell out instantly.

Most people complaining about PS3 are the ones that have been hating on PS3 before all the negative news started.
