I havent seen a single BB 8 Toy or thing, but R2D2 is insane, even a replica with holograms.

R2-D2. Maybe BB-8 will improve (for me) in the upcoming films. R2-D2 and C-3PO were important in the OT and did a lot more as characters such as in the first ilm, BB-8 seems to just exist because "you've gotta have a new robot to remake the OT experience". It's only been one film and BB-8 has done almost nothing, no way near the levels of R2-D2 yet. I'll see in two more films.

BB 8 moved the entire plot of the movie with its secret map.

Pretty sure they went out of their way to assign no gender to BB8 over the entire film. Which I don't think can be said about R2D2.

Regardless it's two men who provide the voice of BB8. Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz.

BB-8 is great, but I prefer R2's sound design. It's more memorable and has more range. Plus I love how throughout the whole saga, R2 is the only one who knows the whole story.

Chopper easily. R2 is a verbal jerk while Chopper is often physically abusive to his friends on top of being a verbal jerk. Again:

R2 would have never pulled something like that lol. That's why I love Chopper though.

Chopper's a riot. The one issue I have with him is how much the show relies on his "arms" to help him emote. R2 and BB-8 never relied that hard on anthropomorphic elements to emote. Step it up, Chopper.
