Is rockstar gonna do the same for every offensive shit that trevor says in the game? Or how much stereotypes they fitted in the lamar character?
Also people are worried about the humor in the next game since rockstar is doing this woke shit to gain twitter points and there is no tell in how "safe" the humor is gonna be...
This is not about the news itself but the meaning behind it.
I'm not super worried because i still kinda believe in them after rdr2, but yeah, this doesn't look good.
It is the same shit they are doing with the new saint row where they changed beloved puns in the name of some places with more safe unfunny stuff.

First, the priority of Rockstar is to sell you their games, if it means they will have to make a game about poop knowing it will sell you the same game for 10 years, they will do it…! That there already speaks volumes about what rockstar is all about!!! Money
Rockstar is the winner here, quietly removed offensive stuff that they did on purpose while passing the image as "game devs being censored"

on this in that I didn't even know this specific trans "cringe humor" even existed. Was there some massive uproar about the game's content? And if so, shouldn't they know that GTA is incredibly satirical and has a lot of "cringe humor" from its very inception? If not, I guess that goes back to Rockstar just doing whatever they want to their own game.

. . .everyone is assuming this is from outside pressure, when it just as well could have been an internal talk where they look back on their work and go "Yeah. . .this doesn't work." I'm watching the ITS ALWAYS SUNNY podcast and they go over this exact thing: whether or not the humor they've done holds up (for them I'd say 90% does, particularly their first episode).

Reread tweet and it references a "plea" from "OutMakingGames". But I really don't like this nonsense of reevaluating jokes after the fact. Should Southpark go back and edit out content just because someone at a later date found it offensive? People are just too easily offended and weaponize that far too much, imo.

Homeless people are discriminated against worse than anyone, even trans people, yet they are a running gag in all GTA games and yet resetera and all the wackos don't care for a second. It's only a few select criteria that set them off, and it has nothing to do with real struggles that real people face.
I'm not saying anyone should care or should be blamed for not reacting, I am saying this idea that trans people have a special rule that requires them to always be getting special treatment concerning any form of media is hypocritical. That we can fuck with race, immigrants, fat, bold, or poor people, yet trans somehow, is different, makes no sense.
The only reason why they are getting this treatment is based on threats.

I'm not sure about threats like that, but I've seen plenty of bigoted tweets from all sides of the spectrum. This is why twitter is the absolute shithole that it is. Instead of civil conversations about sensitive subjects, we get online rage.
Most straight white men I know are very calm. That's the problem with generalizing people and reducing them to a single characteristic that fits a specific narrative. More often than not, the narrative is just wrong.

there are a lot of them at it your right. problem with twitter is you don't have to register who you are to go on there. I think a lot of it is just people being dickheads and would never follow through any threat but you have to take it all seriously because one day somebody will follow through. we all have to watch how people in power use lies for their own agenda and stoke up the public. fact checking is a thing and should always be a thing like that

agreed. a local MP where I live had some death threats a couple of years ago because she wanted to remain in the EU, most people including myself thought its just nonsense. the police followed it up and arrested said persons, they did indeed intend to carry it through and had drew up plans and had weapons.
never take any threat lightly on twitter is the moral of the story.
what I never get and on this site is a perfect example, why do people need to get involved if they don't like something. just move along and focus on things you like. there would be less bans that's for sure lol

In the end of the day I think this stuff just has the opposite effect and makes people take real issues less seriously.

I know that a lot of actual trans people are very frustrated with this shit too, number one because they don't want to fucking talk about being trans 24/7 every day of their life.
The entire point is to be seen as the gender they identify with so it becomes quite infuriating to have their entire existence be perpetually about their transness and issues related to it and have it be a drama shitfest everywhere.
They have more important things to worry about than some dumb joke in GTA, but now you have people who turned it into a thing and it actually ends with more mockery of trans people than before.
Another example is stuff like trans women in sports, you have to be actually braindead for real to not understand why it's a bad idea and there's so many insane lunatics who are outright denying the biological advantages or even acknowledging them but saying that it doesn't matter ( which is also misogynistic, women sports exist to be a safe space for cis women to compete... ).
The OVERWHELMING majority of trans women understands how insane it is and I'd imagine are against it, but you have all of these white rich kids on Twitch and Youtube and in the media turning it into a circus and it creates a lot of genuine hate towards trans women.
Like I dunno why so many people are so insanely willing to die on these hills, spend more of that energy on trying to deal with more legit and pressing issues.
But the problem is that everyone is trying to '' out woke '' each other and almost none of these people are trans themselves ultimately they're not the ones who will have to deal with the repercussions.
It's all about Twitter likes and being seen as morally just for them, for actual trans people it's very real and they're the ones who have to deal with the societal hate and bigotry it causes.

I don't care if they troll trans or gay or lesbian, i usually buy their games for the care of details in the locations and their animation engine, rdr 2 was the first modern rockstar game where i apprecciated the writing so i don't even care that much about the humor in gta6, i'm gonna buy it regardless, i was just explaining many people feelings toward the news since some people were confused about the fuss.

I didnt personally notice these changes and I don't care that they removed them because it doesn't really take away from the game in a very meaningful way but I also don't think you should cave and remove satire from a fucking game thats about satirizing everything.
I'd need to see the jokes to see if they were shit or not, if they are offensive but actually funny then keep them.

I actually agree with that a lot. There is a trans guy in the aprtment above me who i have talked about on here before, and i look after his cat as he has to be away from home a lot. Anyway he agrees with what you said, and he said most trans people themselved dont want all this constant nonsense from the left on Twitter etc. He actually thinks trying to force agenda's on peopel, canceling them, classing them as bigots etc, he thinks it will have more harm than good in thelong run as he feels the mases who the majority of them probably dont have a feeling on the subject for either side, he feels they will eventually get fed up of this nonsense and turn agains them.
He also know how anti SJW and woke i am, and he's never had a problem with that, or me. He's a good person actually. He comes to mine for a few beers sometimes.
